i broke my favorite gun. pls halp?
WastelandAssassin replied to Amybot's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
look under the sound section of the weapon in the GECK i hope you did a backup of the .esp if not, redownload it just check the original's sounds, see what files it used, and make sure your gun uses the same sounds it's basically under the sound or noise or something like that tab, of the weapons' info, inside the GECK hope this helps you fix it :) -
well, i don't know if moderators get notifications on any new post that is made, but since there are so many made per day, and the people here do work and have a life outside this site, they might miss it besides, sometimes it may just take time i know that there are many questions that were asked a few days ago, and LHammonds (which i think is the father of this community) came today and answered them but like paganwannabe said, it is much easier to answer the simpler questions, rather than ones that actually require deep insight and such

Help! spells not working
WastelandAssassin replied to winger1993's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
well, maybe there is a conflict with another mod?? do you have any mod that changes this NPC?? -
New rings, circlets, amulets, armbands etc
WastelandAssassin replied to ThieuxTaffer's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
well, if by boring you mean that they don't look good, there are many good pieces to find there are many mods that add a few items, like Floydian's Chapel Shop mod, the two Apachii mods, and many others but if i may suggest a special mod, it would be this mod it is a replacer of the amulets in game, that makes them look so much better, at least in my opinion there is also a replacer for rings, but the effects are much smaller, so i don't know if it's worth getting hope this helps :) -
Oblivion spikes for 15 seconds during Save!
WastelandAssassin replied to okokokok's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
if i remember correctly, it only happens on a high level character, because all the junk scripts are due to advancement in the game (at least, as far as i know) but doing a clean save doesn't help?? a clean save is basically to load your game with no mods, save, then load that save with your mods -
well, if you still have the 20th Century Weapons files that you downloaded, just take the esp and put it in the data folder (replace the existing one) and if you have a FOMOD of that mod, just remake that FOMOD the thing is, the problem could be the esp of that mod, so just replace that file with an untouched version (i hope you understand what i mean, as it's hard to explain.....)

Oblivion spikes for 15 seconds during Save!
WastelandAssassin replied to okokokok's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
well, let me guess, you have Oblivion XP installed?? (the mod, that is) because such things have been reported to happen with that mod if so, they also say how to fix this, but i haven't tried it (i have the same problem, though i just deal with it......) -
well, i'm in a good mood now, so how about if i'll do it for you?? i'll try it out, though i have never added items to a merchant's inventory before still, it would be nice to try and see i can do this for you, but you will have to test it yourself, ok?? i'll start when i see your reply (if your reply is positive, that is)

as far as i know, it is possible in the Ivellon mod, if you hit the torches or lamps with a fire spell, they lit up i assume that you can use the same concept for your own script however, i have no idea how the script looks like i would suggest you to DL the mod (it's an awesome mod to have anyhow), and see about the script i'll also look into that, see if i can find anything
-
well, first of all, don't panic!! if you start panicking, you end up doing more harm to yourself (or your game, in this case) i assume you have saved your game just load the game, go to the nearest place with something that you can kill, and try to use V.A.T.S. on that NPC\creature see if after hitting a few times, you still didn't do any damage also, load only the main file in GECK, and see if the weapons damage isn't set to 0 you see, sometimes the display on the pipboy shows wrong damage settings but i don't think you have messed up your game hope this helps :)
-
in that case, it is quite easy to do let's say you want to make a stronger silver arrow, but not a replacer open the CS, load the Oblivion.esm file go to weapons, and find the silver arrows right click on them, then click edit change the ID to something that you will know (like SpecialArrow or something) it will ask you if you want to make a new item, click yes (i can't remember how the message was, but click yes) then just open your new arrows, and change the damage and all to your liking (do make sure to check other arrows so that you'll know the result of the damage you give it, due to the skill in archery changing the damage done by arrows) to add the items to the NPCs list of merchandise, look HERE, i'm sure this will do the trick i hope these instructions were easy enough to follow good luck, and if you need more help, just ask :)

FOMM rejecting all FMODS
WastelandAssassin replied to ICERAY2000's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
have you managed to install even a single mod using FOMM?? and have you tried running the game through FOMM?? because if both didn't work, maybe you should try to re-install FOMM...... -
so all you wanted was aragorn's sword?? (Narsil is the name, however you spell that......) i thought you wanted some more weapons...... well, at least you got what you wanted :)
-
well, there is already a crossbow mod here saved you the search, it is HERE you will notice, however, that the animations don't look very realistic that is because it is using the normal bow animations (crossbow animations would be really hard to make......) also, if you want people to make items for you, you might want to give a better description than 'new swords and daggers'........ what kind of items do you want to see created?? are they based on pictures?? if so, post the pictures, if not then at least describe the items....... i hope that you understand that i am trying to help you here, not make you look stupid or anything.......

placeable and moveable lights
WastelandAssassin replied to Deleted2262949User's topic in Oblivion's Mod Ideas
actually, there are such things first of all, OOO has a system which allows you to drop lit torches, which you could use the other option is the lamps that you can find in Lost Paladins of the Divines these are items you can drop, and each has it's own light color i'm sorry it's not mods about just the lamps, but i don't know about such mods hope this helps :) -
wow, ok, one by one about combining mods, i really don't know..... google it, it is usually the easiest answer how to connect worlds is probably by their locations, but i have never created a cell, so i have no idea again, google it, and see about the door, this i believe is a script i think you need to make a script that will run when you activate the door, to set you and all your companions, to the place you want the door to lead to i'm sure you can find how, if you look at written scripts (ones in the original game) sorry i couldn't help you more, but i'm not a modder

Trouble with my Settle down mod
WastelandAssassin replied to DestinyHater's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
well, if i understand what you said, you changed the scripts isn't there a chance you messes up one of the scripts?? it shouldn't be a matter of too many scripts, as these shouldn't be running all the time just check all the scripts again, to make sure they are all ok see if there is a specific one that crashes your game -
why do all that, if you can just use the SetStage command and finish it all?? look at this page, at the bottom of it, it will give you the stage you want i hope this helps you, as i'm pretty sure no one would make such a mod (messing with the main quests isn't really smart.......)

Trouble with my Settle down mod
WastelandAssassin replied to DestinyHater's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
ok, so now that you know it's the problem, search for which part of the mod is the conflicting part, and either change or remove it do make sure to turn off the original mod that you modified, if you haven't done it, as it might be the problem -
Trouble with my Settle down mod
WastelandAssassin replied to DestinyHater's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
well, are you sure it is your mod, that makes the game freeze?? try loading the game without your mod, see if it causes the problem if it is the cause, you will need to check for conflicts, and see what really does the problem -
as far as i understand, you can control the weather, so if you want to have only 1 type of weather in the day, you can do it i'm not really sure how to do it, but i am 95% sure that this is possible sorry i can't give you a better answer, i'm not a modder.......

it should do it, but the NPC doesn't always change the clothing (it depends on the NPCs AI, as far as i know) glad i could help you out :)

Add a item from one mod to another
WastelandAssassin replied to TheTeeMan's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
well, as far as i know, there are two ways for you to do it the one way is to just make the mod that adds the doors as a master for your mod, which means that one must have that mod in order for yours to work if that mod only adds these doors, it is fine, but if it adds more items, ones that you don't use, then you should do the other way the other way is to re-create the doors in your mod that means that you must re-create the item, with meshes and textures, as it is in that mod i'm not quite sure how doors are made, but if they are like normal items, then you should be able to make a new instance of a door, and just give it the blank door textures from that mod i hope this helps if it's not good enough, i'll see if i can help you better
