Clothing request!
WastelandAssassin replied to 123oblivion456's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Ideas
it's basically the textures that you want to change you need to find the textures, and change them using one of the programs (photoshop, GIMP, Paint.NET etc) just work on the textures, to get what you want -
mods wont show up in data files
WastelandAssassin replied to bagoman's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
yeah, what Hickory is saying is indeed true i have Vista, and i've installed the game on D (due to more space) but still, it's true that installing the game in the program files isn't what you want to do, since it does have problems follow what Hickory has said, if that is the case if not, do tell us -
OK, i think i fixed it for some reason, i didn't remember the NPCs name, so i added the items to the wrong NPC....... anyhow, it should be working now please test it, and tell me if this works....... i am almost sure that this will work  if it does, and you want me to add any more items, just tell me, and i will be happy to help

mods wont show up in data files
WastelandAssassin replied to bagoman's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
well, there is a beautiful little thing known as OBMM or Oblivion mod manager find it, download it, use it it should help you solve your problem now, if even there mods don't show up, then it means that the mods aren't in the right place make sure that all esm\esp files are in the Data folder, and not a sub-folder -
how do i add mods to my game?
WastelandAssassin replied to biggboyy24's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
the exe of what, new vegas??? if so, then you didn't install it properly can you launch the game?? -
oh. this is really easy west of the Imperial City, and a little to the south, just west of the roads (you'll see several small roads on the map, so just south-west of them) there is a shrine, the shrine of Clavicus Vile (hope i spelled that right.....) talk to the priest of the shrine, he will give you the quest if i remember correctly, you need to be level 20, but it might be 10, can't recall if you still can't find it, look HERE i'm sure this is all you need :)

how do i add mods to my game?
WastelandAssassin replied to biggboyy24's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
i'm sure there will be a mod manager for NV soon, but untill then, i'm sure there is a "file" tab in the game menu, where you can check the esp\esm you want, and activate it through there if you don't know how to install mods in general, there are many guides here basically, just make sure to put all the files in the right place -
What makes clothes unremovable?
WastelandAssassin replied to BaronofHe11's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
if i remember correctly, it's the "playable" tag in the GECK basically, if it's not playable, you can't get it (maybe with cheats, but i don't know) so if you want to have these armors or weapons, just open the GECK, open the item, and check the Playable option hope this helps :) -
well, the skeleton key is probably just scripts, so all you have to do, is make sure that the perk is the same (if perks are the same between F3 and F:NV, in terms of how they are built) now, for the second one, this is one hell of a port to do basically, you will have to re-do the whole mod, to fit to F:NV it means that you will have to change all the IDs of companions to fit those of new vegas companions, and so for everything that is different (house themes, houses, places etc) the only things that you might not have to change are the scripts for changing the player, since it's the same scripts (as far as i know) still, this is a huge thing, so you might want to just re-make the mod for F:NV, and not try to change....... just another note, about the skeleton key if you want to just port it, make sure to remove any trace of F3 (any place, container and such) so it will no make problems good luck
-
well, i don't know that much, i just know how to search :) and i don't really know any good modelers with free time and all....... besides, between all i gave you, i'm sure you can piece out an almost complete Roman set there are several shield mods, maybe one has a tower shield like you want, but i'm not sure
-
well, it's true, i don't recall a full set of Roman armor being published here but i have found some things you might like This modis quite big, but it does have lot's of nice equipment amongst it is a roman helmet (at least one version of the helmet) plus the helmet from Gladiator (the one he wears as a The Spaniard) which is rather cool this mod is about a spartan armor, but the helmet is also quite good now, there are many sandals out there, not sure how a Roman sandal looks, but i'm sure you can live with the regular Oblivion sandals also, there are probably a few gladius' around here, like this mod and i just found a rather good looking roman armor HERE, i think it should be good enough for you now, the spear is rather hard, because there are only a few spear animations, so probably it's hard to find spears also, the tower shield is meant to cover your whole body, which isn't going to be a good thing with Oblivion, considering the weapon animations and all...... anyhow, i hope this is what you want
-
HERE is the Ghost mask, though it is part of a helmet (not sure if a mask-only was ever published......) if you want MW2 outfits, you can find them at the underground (since they are ripped, they can't be published here) and please don't complaint about having to register and write 30 comments... at least not here if that's what you want to find, that's what you have to do

Type 3 armor conversion
WastelandAssassin replied to Madae's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
ok :) now, just one thing that i thought about if you want to use the existing file, you will have to remove the items from the game (if the item was placed in Fallout 3, remove it's trace, since it's not Fallout 3) so basically use the Info, see where it is used, and manually remove it from every place, or create a new file (which should be much easier, i would say) -
Type 3 armor conversion
WastelandAssassin replied to Madae's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
well, as far as i know, the NV GECK would read the file just as it should, so i think you could just change the original file, though you might have to create it from scratch, i'm not sure about that now, changing the stats of the armors is a piece of cake you just load the file and find the armor (or create it, if you make a new file) and give the stats whatever you want (like if the armors DR was too high, you can easily change it) now, to automatically add it to the player's inventory would require scripting if you know how to script, it shouldn't be hard for you if you don't, i could help you out with it, just ask :) if you need more info, or better instructions, or have any questions, you are free to ask, and i'll do my best to answer :) -
well, maybe wait some time, let the inventory respawn (usually after 3 days) maybe that would work but i'll look to find what i did wrong
-
ok, i tried following the new tutorial, so tell me if this all works out as it should (meaning you can buy the arrows, and don't see anything weird about the shop) hope this is good if you want me to do the same for other arrows or such, just tell me
-
thanks i was following another tutorial on the subject, but i guess it didn't work as expected.....
-
well, that is wrong..... first of all, one arrow wouldn't normally kill you, unless it hits in vital areas, like major blood vessels and such also, if a simple arrow would kill you, how is it that arrows have evolved throughout history?? it's the same thing with guns a single bullet wouldn't normally kill you, unless it's a monster round (like a .50 Calibr round or something) or if it hit vital areas so yeah, in Oblivion they didn't evolve it in a smart way, but it had to fit with the themes but really, could you tell me how is making a glass armor smart?? think about more advanced arrowheads, and more aerodynamic arrow shafts and such, not materials (though there are materials that are easier to work with, giving better results and such) that's as far as i know, and my opinion

i broke my favorite gun. pls halp?
WastelandAssassin replied to Amybot's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
glad it worked out :) though there are many good mods that have awesome sounds, and ones that better fit such weapons...... don't know how automatic sniper fire sounds like....... ;) -
that's weird...... i'll have another look at that, and see if i can fix this
-
no problem do report what your friend finds out, and if he needs more help :)
-
well, as far as i know, the only way he could have writings in German, is if a mod he had installed is in German so tell him to check again, because this is the only explanation i know of and about the quest marker, it happens sometimes can't really say why, but it does happen just look HERE in the upper left of the page, there is a "view on map" button just tell your friend where the cave is, and tell him to try and finish the quest without that marker hope this helps :)
-
well, i think i have managed to do it made a steel arrow this is stronger the deadric arrows, and added the arrows to the Archer's Paradox the owner should sell the arrows now they are called Special Steel Arrow(s) hope this works as it should :) do tell me if you can find the arrows (they are on a cabinet in the second floor, next to a pitcher) and if Baelin sells the arrows

i broke my favorite gun. pls halp?
WastelandAssassin replied to Amybot's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
oh...... if i remember correctly, when you click on a sound file, you will hear the sound so just try to find the ones that you like, and make sure the gun uses them again, go to the weapon in the GECK, click on the art and sound tab, and under it there are several options well, just click each one you need (you don't have to choose a melee block, or misfire sound, just the 2 first settings, which are the attack sounds), find a sound you like, and apply it on the mod that should fix your problem hope this helps -
well, ok, i will as soon as i have some spare time today, i'll give it a shot :)
