  1. When I arrived at an automobile dealership to pick up my car, I was told the keys had been locked inside it. I went to the service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the driver's side door. As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked. "Hey," I announced to the technician, "It's open!" To which he replied, "I know - I already got that side."
  2. I was at the airport, checking in at the gate when an airport employee asked, "Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your knowledge?" To which I replied, "If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?" He smiled knowingly and nodded, "That's why we ask."
  3. I was signing the receipt for my credit card purchase when the clerk noticed I had never signed my name on the back of the credit card. She informed me that she could not complete the transaction unless the card was signed. When I asked why, she explained that it was necessary to compare the signature I had just signed on the receipt. So I signed the credit card in front of her. She carefully compared the signature to the one I had just signed on the receipt. As luck would have it, they matched.
  4. (none taken)
  5. Here's one from my corner of the world... Question: Why doesn't Columbus, Ohio get it's own professional football team? Answer: Because they know that if they did then Cleveland and Cincinnati would both want one too.
  6. It is indeed suitable, and don't worry so much! Everything I've ever seen you do is beautiful and I would never object to you posting it here. Thank you for making my garden that much more beautiful.
  7. I'm very glad to see that you're still writing and sharing it with us.
  8. Now I better understand why I like your stories so much... you're just as eclectic as I am!
  9. Excellent. Reminds me a little of my favorite old game, Doom.

Welcome and I hope you stick around!
  11. The videos and pics are probably genuine, but the "mysterious light spiral" itself is obviously man-made, a projection or some other hoax of that nature.
  12. I'm glad you decided to post here! I know I gave the thread a specific theme of romance and eroticism when I created it, and I get doomy and gloomy here as well, but I do enjoy many different themes in poetry. I'm actually working on a poem now that has a sci-fi combat theme. But it's looooong and not quite ready to be posted yet...
  13. Thank you, and yes, these are all written by me. I have written many poems and song lyrics; I may post more but I'm not sure if I'd like to share them all here... though I have to say it could get quite addictive. ;) I don't really listen to Cannibal Corpse, but I listen to Death metal-like bands like Dethklok, Converge, Slipknot, All That Remains, Textures; to Black metal like Cradle of Filth, Belphegor, Emperor, Satyricon, and Dimmu Borgir. I think the Not Real song was mostly inspired by All That Remains and Sevendust, with the addition of a Holocaust class I took. I love Cradle Of Filth! I use the intros to many of their songs as part of my Oblivion soundtrack!
  14. Thank you for visiting my garden. I love this poem, and am flattered that I could help inspire you. I also just read the Death Metal Song... did you write it as well? I'm a fan of bands like Cannibal Corpse and found the lyrics very fitting. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
  15. People constantly grow and change. It is the nature of life and being human. Today I am not exactly the same person I was yesterday. And nobody is out there collecting my old parts.
  16. I love, but loved am I? Why does my lover's touch make me cry? I feel alone though this space we share; My empty heart cold with despair. All alone in a crowded room; All alone in a world of gloom. How much more must a person take? How much longer before her heart breaks? Where to find love in this world of danger? Where to find love in a world of strangers? My heart I must hide for fear of pain; My heart I can never surrender again. I cannot escape my deepest fear Of betrayal again from one I hold dear. It is my choice to suffer alone, To carry my burdens all on my own. My own oppressor, I sit here and cry, Certain of loneliness to the day when I'll die.
