  1. 90Mbs? Geez, my game started stuttering and crashing when my save bloated to 50! Hopefully Valkyrie's advice works out for you, because my only advice would be to load a long-past previous save and start fresh, or to start a whole new save, because one of your mods (or several) definitely bloated it past normal parameters.
  2. Sounds like some people in here need an attitude change. Dustin - Seriously? You're being a dick. Ichibu - Come on man, think before you speak, of course the staff care, they pay for the damn things to let YOU and the rest of us enjoy the site. They're not getting paid to sit on their asses. This affects ALL of us. It's not a simple problem that can be resolved with your wishful thinking. So just knowledge up and be patient.
  3. It appears some people interpreted "I'm retiring," as meaning, "I'm DONE! Yeah, I'm leaving NOW, so if there's any problems, they're not mine! HA-HA!" In that case, I'll go redownload COT 2.1 and hold onto the other new files for later. Good tidings with your fix, JJ!
  4. My advice: diversify. If you don't want to play other styles, go Legendary on your skills and start fresh. Run some modded quest lines like Wyrmthooth or Moonpath. Run around without a cause. See if you missed anything!
  5. This has been noticed by others in a previous thread: Watch Out for Ransomware (Nexus.exe). Do not, under any circumstances, open or apply the object. Delete it, and if it continues to download, try to identify which server you're using to isolate the cause.
  6. I've noticed the same around Lakeview Manor. It's likely not a glitch, merely the fact that Falkreath has some erratic weather conditions.
  7. Do you use any companion/follower mods, such as AFT or UFO? It's possible that they're causing conflicts with the vanilla game, as Serana doesn't work like traditional followers.
  8. It's a common procedure for some modders to hide their mod before major update releases. I don't blame you for worrying, but if this happens to another mod that you follow in the future, just remember that it's likely the modder hiding it to avoid the anticipatory "WHERE'S THE MOD UPDATE YOU PROMISED?!" posts.
  9. You also could have mentioned this on the mod's own forum...
  10. There was a thread posted about an abandoned project dealing with this issue here. Throw your voice behind to support so that someone might pick it up.
  11. I'm really anticipating the summary completion of this project. When I first saw one of your screenshots for the project last month I was blown away by your original character design and excellent dedication to graphic design. I should note that if you need any assistance with dialogue or quest design, please let me know. I'm a developing writer of sorts, and though fantasy is not my preference, I have a good capacity for conversing and storyline development. But based on what I've seen of your project so far, I doubt you'll need any assistance. But still, I'm here if you need a hand.
  12. Moonpath to Elswyr is another great option. Also keep an eye on Interesting NPCs, as they're passing through the beta phases of fully voiced quest lines.
  13. I was a Redguard Nevevarine, but I didn't hear anybody complaining then. Being a Dragonborn has nothing to do with race. Just because the game takes place in Skyrim doesn't mean being Dragonborn is immediately affiliated with the Nords.
  14. I noticed this yesterday. I haven't tried to resolve it yet, but I'll play around with my Water mod a bit to see if that resolves it.
  15. @ghosu Dude, you are my hero. Not only for your contributions to the Dovahkiin sword, but for your epic Ewok trolling in this thread. Thank you for the laughs.
  16. I think we'd all love if this were possible, but it's a pipe dream to expect our 3-D artists to also know dialogue writing, character design, event scripting, and even voice acting all in one bag. That sort of work requires a team of people, one that is difficult to build with the sort of time and obstacles that these modders have.
  17. You don't. Steam uses a subscription system to install those mods to your game through a cloud. Nexus mods are installed manually into Skyrim by you or installed comprehensibly by the Nexus Mod Manager. Not all mods by Nexus will appears in your Data Files or Load Order section, as they have no .esp or .esm folders. Nearly all modders have installation instructions on how to install their mods manually, which is a fairly simple process once you've learned where your Skyrim folder is located. However, it's impossible to recover your previous set up manually, which is why I highly recommend that you download NMM from the front page of the Nexus site and use it for any mods you download and install. Using NMM is very easy: you first install it, have it detect your various games, confirm that it will install the mods into the proper Skyrim folder in steam, and then start up the Nexus menu. From there you can download mods from the site directly to the NMM or download them normally and manually feed them into NMM through the "Add Folder" button. From there you simply double click the mod and NMM will install it for you. Then, if you want to uninstall the mod, you double click again. It's a lot more comprehensive than the Steam system, but it offers much more customization and control. I highly recommend that you do the necessary reading to understand the process, and if it's too much for you, to stick with Steam. But it's not that hard once you've spent an hour or two playing with it.
  18. What bothers me is that the Second Life Marketplace uses currency to purchase these items. Be it real money or not, that can lead to some detrimental damage and encourage these thieves to consider stealing from others. At the very least, Second Life needs to improve the regulation of their marketplace.
  19. ... To be fair, you paid for an expansion called "Dragonborn." I doubt very much that BethSoft considered your non-Dragonborn protagonists when they made their main quest directed towards defeating another Dragonborn. Doesn't mean that your request is invalid, just saying that you might need to work around it just like you did with the default game.
  20. I think you should communicate your interest to the folks behind The Oblivion Realms Serie, as their desire to bring back Oblivion's reign on Tamriel parallels yours. However, I will point out that, according to lore, Mehrunes Dagon cannot return to Nirn because Martin Septim slew his mortal form as the living avatar of Akatosh. So while your vision could be possible in an alternate reality storyline, it wouldn't be lore-friendly in your present telling. Beyond that, I'll leave it to you to pursue the necessary resources to create your vision.
  21. Have you checked the mod's requirements? I wouldn't be surprised if it requires another mod for the eyes to work.
  22. I'm fairly sure that you're right. BethSoft should be informed so that their PR staff can throw their weight behind the modders. Modded or not, those items being sold are based off of Bethesda's product, and I bet they're not seeing a dime of that profit. The modders in question and BethSoft themself are both being ripped off here, and those affected need to stand together to tear down this Second Life Marketplace.
  23. No,definitely not the only one, but if you look at the available mods, I can see how you would think so. It's surprisingly hard to find something that will give proper armor, but still look feminine. I also don't really get the anime-face fetish, but to each their own. I'm starting to think that it's a product of the Dominio effect for some people. Take me for example: I'm not a fan of sexualizing all of my female NPCs just for the sake of it,and most of my females maintain their vanilla attributes and appearances. However, I recently downloaded FalmerBane's Arlana the Axe Maiden mod which replaces the Riften Housecarl NPC, Iona, whom I thought looked too similar to Lydia. As you can see from the screenshots, Arlana is strikingly sultry, and so I found myself perplexed when I saw her wearing vanilla and "normal" armor styles - I caught myself wanting to see her in a set of armor which "matched" her attractive demeanor. Does that mean that I was going to download some skimpy armor set? No, I've still got my opinions, but now I'm merely tempted to find something that matches her figure better. There are a few of the TERA armor sets which aren't completely absurd lore-wise, so perhaps I'll try them out. But here's my point: when someone takes the leap of making their NPCs more attractive to escape the "ghastly" appearance of the vanilla females, they suddenly want more, they want to exemplify that impulse. So I think that's why we see so many sexualized characters around the site. But that's still a rather limited argument of the entire viewpoint.
  24. Oh God... now I really have seen everything! This could be a good pair-up with the Dovahbear mod.
  25. They are texture replacers, there's no ESM file so they won't appear in your data files.Guys, not all mods will show up in your Data Files, only those that use .esp or .esm files. This is why it's recommended that you use the Nexus Mod Manager: it stores and manages all of your mods for you, and even allows you to back track.
