  1. That's pretty scary! But all the advice thus far sounds good. Thanks for the info thus far, I'll be cautious of any downloads for the next few days.
  2. Since you solved the main issue, all I can recommend with the buggy issue is to temporarily remove whatever mods of yours might affect scripts, as I've heard any major changes to the game can mess with that opening scene.
  3. Theoretically you could use your Windows to return to a "previous version," but then you'd have to deactivate your update feature in Steam. Even then, it's better to solve it, especially since it's likely not an issue with the patch.
  4. Sounds like your Ebony Warrior was still in some kind of essential mode. I guess your quest broke or something? In that case I apologize for my earlier attitude.
  5. I think the only real parallel between the Stormcloaks and the Nazis (thus far as it has developed) are that each are forms of extreme nationalism. Perhaps, if given the chance, the Stormcloaks can/will develop into a fascist society, but that can only be determined if Ulfric's ultimate intent is to cleanse Skryim of all outsiders through murderous intent, whereas I suspect his primary interest is in supremacy and independence from other powers. However, it is notable that their name, the Stormcloaks, is similar to "the Stormtroopers," which was the name of Hitler's original group of bodyguards and personal thugs if translated to English, the SA (Sturmabteilung).
  6. Yeah, the Thieves Guild aren't "good" by any means, but they're certainly not evil. That one rule they have says it all: they respect, above all else, that they cannot "steal" the life of another person. If anything, it just shows that the Thieves Guild doesn't respect the ownership of property, and that they're willing to beat the hell out of their targets to get it - since Skyrim's a warrior culture and not one for sneaking around, that "thug" lifestyle's natural, but it still separates them from the bandits, the Forsworn, and most notably, the Dark Brotherhood. They're anti-heroes, but certainly not worshippers of Sithis, murderers, and torturers.
  7. In all fairness, ebony - as far as I've always known - was a Dunmer ore, and so its design is most clearly influenced by Dunmeri culture.
  8. Have you made that request to the Vilja creator? They're known to make several modifications to Vilja, including with Jessica Alba.
  9. In response to Janus and in the defense of J.K Rowling, these court cases aren't handled by her but by the publisher. However, Rowling is known for wanting to keep a reign on her own world, but instead of suing fans, she's simply stated that she doesn't intend to release the right to publish Harry Potter related works to other authors. In other words: fan fiction is fine (and inevitable) but Ms. Rowling will not fans to try and manipulate her canon to their own liking. And I think that's completely fair. And that's all I'll say, since it is off topic from the original purpose of the thread, and I've no interest in modding Skyrim to include Hogwarts.
  10. Same case with characters sleeping - their eyes will remain open. Rather annoying, but I'm not worried.
  11. It starts counting the feedings after the installation, unfortunately. But it doesn't take all that long to fill up.
  12. @ArgonianBuccanneer: Yes, you "reset" all of those perks, so you're able to reallocate them. @urboyfriend: I disagree. I think Bethesda's notion was a matter of balance. They wanted to give players the capacity to focus on playing singular styles without the consequence of hitting a cliff, but they don't want to encourage a loss of challenge. That's why I think the new system is ideal: you're able to return to your rookie roots and still maintain your base character. As for your request, I'm sure there are mods out there that you can use which were implemented before the 1.9 patch.
  13. In all honesty, if you're into being a furry then The Elder Scrolls is where you belong: the modding community, combined with the lore, offer such opportunities to explore that lifestyle. I'm no furry myself, but I can sympathize with your desire to play that life. I can also see it being possible to make with the Khajiit textures. I can't help you, but I imagine someone can.
  14. Sleeping Tree Sap, obviously. Makes for a good sugary base. Oh, and it makes your kids awesome. Who knew?
  15. It hasn't been updated since last April, so I'd guess so.
  16. Thanks! Like I've said before, it really helps to keep me motivated when people give me support to carry on! The voice actors are all wonderful people who Ikve enjoyed working with- they've put in a lot of work to make the characters perfect. There are hundreds more lines in the mod itself, not to mention the other voice actors' characters, so hopefully you will like what you her in the final mod! Oh, and I'm not sure if I'm being stupid, but what do you mean by rationale? Like lore and backstory? Yeah, just a little backstory to explain why the city's built up vertically. Is there a geographic limit on space? Is there a river which made it more convenient for people to stay in the city? Was there some brilliant architect which established the city's concept for such tall homes (from typical standards). Things like that.
  17. That crown's the only sensible pick, frankly. Great quest, though. And I can't wait to kill that thief!
  18. You sound like you're describing Skyrim post modding, because I've never had that sort of experience with the vanilla game. That being said, I respect your desire to make Skyrim more of a "dark" fantasy experience, as I am also a fan of Martin's vision. So I implore you to continue with your direction.
  19. >Calls him the Ebony Wimp >Doesn't take as much damage as you'd like I think you're not wrapping your head around the concept that he's meant to be that hard. He's the end-game "boss" character. He's supposed to be that ungodly hard. He's your greatest challenge, not just another enemy to defeat with ease.
  20. I think you've got a valid idea there. I especially like the prospect of combining the entire seventh installment into three provinces - since, by that time, they'll likely have the processing capability to handle such a large terrain space. I also agree that Redguard is likely the next destination.
  21. So first: when you say "ticked in," does that mean you're using NMM? Also, when you installed the mods, did you activate them through NMM to the point that they had green checkmarks to say that they were activated? Is your options menu directed at the correct Skyrim folder?
  22. First thing's first: what's your load order? What mods to you use? What graphics card to you have, and is it updated to the latest drivers? Also: when you've deleted everything, how did you do it? I can't promise that I understand the problem, but perhaps this information can help the other viewers to understand your procedure.
  23. I... don't understand why this offends you so much. Troll?
  24. I actually think the OP's question is valid. Naturally he's not suggesting that werewolves and vampires are equivalent in level to the Princes, but he's instead asking if they're equivalent to the Dremora and other Daedric creatures in the lore, which I find to be an honest question, and one that I can't fairly answer. However, people have brought up some good points to the contrary, so I can't assume it to be true. Lycanthrophy and Vampirism are ailments inflicted upon mortal men and mer instead of being directly created by the Daedra themselves, so perhaps it's safe to say that they're Daedra-inflicted diseases rather than actual servants of the Daedra.
  25. You don't need to reinstall all of your mods. All you need to do is reinstall SKSE (which won't take any more than a minute of copying and pasting) and possibly verifying your game cache. That's really it.
