  1. Sorry, my fault! I didn't understand what you did mean.

Yes, you should do as you did. Disable the tweaks and modify parameters into the bashed patch.

If you import a mod inside the bashed patch, the mod will be disabled. So, if you disabled the bashed patch, you should re-enable the mod.

Otherwise, the patch seems fine. I think you did it right. If you still have crashes, you will need to try catching the faulting mod by disabling one at a time.

Oh, bashed patch should be rebuilt every time you change, add or rearrange your mods. So, if you add a few mods and reorder them via BOSS, you will need to rebuild the bashed patch after. The same if you enable/disable some.

Bashed patch should retain every setting, so it should be as easy as doing "Rebuild patch..." and then "Build Patch".

  2. Merged mods (the ones with the + sign) may be disabled after you create the bashed patch.

Tweaked mods should not be disabled if you apply tweaks into the bashed patch (they will *not* be copied inside, only the tweaks will be applied)

  3. Could you please tell us the steps you did to create the bashed patch? The more details, the more we may try to help.

Don't get discouraged, after you solve these things for the first time it actually become a sort of easy routine for every mod :)

  4. I examined the MMO startup script. It is a bit strange, indeed, but it *should* stop spamming messages as soon as the game is fully loaded.

Can you confirm this? Try loading a game, waiting 5-6 seconds, then write something on the console (even nonsense) and press enter/return. Then close the console, wait a few seconds and open it again. There should not be any MMO messages after your last command.

If the message is, instead, continously displayed even after a minute or two, there may be a problem within the mod itself.

  5. You should open UnnecessaryViolence.ini with a text editor, read it *very carefully*, setting everything as you like.

I repeat, it is very very important you read everything of it, because some settings may drastically change your in-game experience.

Then, inside this file there is a setting you need to change to stop your character's death; it was made on purpose, for people to read and modify the .ini file before playing.

  6. Every mod conflict can be solved, but some are really hard ones. I hope you will not have CTD anymore, but if you do then remember the last mod activated and try to reproduce it. Activate a single mod at a time and test it for a bit before activating another one.
  7. Try moving the "Elves Of Lineage II Female Anime Voice.esp" after "Elves Of Lineage II.esp"

You will continue to have a conflict, but the Female voice should win it and thus enable voices. To solve the conflict you will need something such as Wrye Bash (and create a Bashed Patch) or TES4Edit and fix it by hand.

  8. Ok, I probably found the issue.

    It is Map Marker Overhaul.

Open the file "YourOblivioninstallfolder\Data\Ini\Map Marker Overhaul.ini" with a text editor. Scroll to the bottom, there will be a section called "Settings for backup of map markers". There you will need to change the value to activate backup with pluggy.

  9. Did you add mods while playing with your old savegame? I mean, you started playing, then every now and then you installed another mod you liked, etc.

Sometimes savegame bloating may occur if you use mods which are not well coded.

If you can play a bit with your new game without crashing, then probably there is some conflict which has been created in the old savegame.

Sometimes it happened to me with some custom items my character was wearing. I played a bit with the items disabled (or simply put out into a container), then when I took them back everything was fine.

You will need advanced tools to get exactly to the point of which items conflicts with the other, like TES4Edit. It is a bit difficult to use, however. Wrye Bash, with the merged patch, would help here. If you don't want to use it right now, at least try it when you have a bit of free time. Wrye Bash is really useful.

  10. BOSS is the first right step. Now you need Wrye Bash.

After installing it you first need to do a Mod Check. It is a small button under the mod list. Doing a mod check will tell you still more problems and suggestions, apart from the one already given by BOSS. Then you will need to create a Bashed Patch.

You will find lots of informations at this Wrye Bash page.

  11. You may need to troubleshoot the problem by trial. You have a point which crashed everytime you are near it, right? (North of Bruma, you said)

Start disabling a few mods at a time and try. If you still crash, disable a bunch more, until the crash disappear. The crash will be caused probably by the last mods you disabled. Try them one by one, until you can identify the mod which causes the crash. As soon as you identify it, we may help you more.

  12. I think you should try to disable automagic bags then and try on a secondary save if this solves the problem.

i now know that DS showing us BASE stats.. it's what blade will do damage with 100 skill with blade.. or armor with 100 skill.

This is interesting. So the inventory shows the calculated damage/armor rating. In Display Stats I activated the damage rate, that is damage * speed, and it gives still another view point. I find, however, useful knowing the base damage/armor rate, because I know which weapons/armors will be more powerful even if I still have not the skill/stat to use them at their best and so to decide which one to keep and which one to discard (I usually have lots of modded weapons/armors on, so keeping track of which one is the best is not always simple :)).

  13. I find display stats to be very useful and I also noticed the mismatch between the reported stats and the stats on the inventory list. I opened a mod with TES4Edit and compared the results: Display Stats returns the *correct* values set into the mods, so I will trust DS more than Oblivion.

Now, if you have some problems with stats disappearing, it could be a mod conflict. Other interface mods may be messing up with DS customized xml files.

You should check that "Data\Menus\Main\magic_popup_menu.xml" is the same as in yours DS install package. If it is a different file (check dimension) then some other mod have overwritten it. Restore your original. If you manage to find the conflicting mod, too, we may try to find a compatibility pack or a way to make them work together.

  14. Windows 7/Vista may cause problems with default directories (everything under Program Files for example) because of UAC. Usually if you move the Oblivion folder outside, let's say in C:\Games\Oblivion, UAC does not interfere in there. I asked about Steam because IIRC it has still a different install method which may interfere (but I never used it, so I cannot say nothing more).

Searching around I saw the same error of yours (a thread on Bethesda forums) a few times. Every time it was a bad/corrupted mod or something similar. Unfortunately this is not your case, because you tried with no mods loaded. May your installation/hard disk be corrupt? Try with a scandisk/check for bad clusters, just to be sure.

  15. This is strange.

Which operating system are you on? XP or Vista/7?

Oblivion may give some strange problems if installed under Vista/7 into the default partition. If this is your case, you should move the Oblivion folder into C:\Games\something.

Is yours a Steam version, by the way?
