  1. It's only $2 to remove permanently, one-time payment.
  2. That's about how I feel. Only time I ever go on Nexus on my phone is to look at my screenshots to show someone. Otherwise, I browse on the computer. So I think the traffic we're seeing may not really be for mods, more for screenshots, forums, and news. That last part: This just in, Bill Clinton, member [censored] himself, approves. :P
  3. See, all this detail is good stuff. That's what we need more of. More details and suggestions. All points that were presented reasonably, and I actually find I agree with some of it, and the stuff I don't agree with is only because for me, it's not used enough for me to have an opinion one way or the other.
  4. Why cant you choose skin? Because this is not a CSGO weapon? Ethreon, I don't care what anyone says, you always manage to get a chuckle out of me. Never leave us. And I'm pretty sure, as you said, this was covered in at least two other threads. Anyone got $10K to fork over? *crickets chirping* Yeah, that about sums it up. However, I will say this, on some forum sites, like Xenforo, for instance, you can choose color theme (even 4chan has that), which might help, and there's probably that functionality built into this new site, too, it just hasn't been made available yet. But the overall style? Yeah, Dark0ne didn't sink all the money into it only to tear it all down.
  5. One thing I want to see is a flag icon for when you have comments on your images--I never get notifications for comments on images, and I don't like missing them, but I don't want to have to sift through 100+ images, clicking on each one separately to see if someone commented on it. A little comment box icon could appear right on the image tile to alert us. Can't seem to find a new "advanced search" anywhere for any game...which was a VERY useful feature for looking through everything. It comes after you hit Search. The search results have the Advanced filter stuff below the results.
  6. I don't think so, but that's not a bad idea. I think making the text bold would help, too.
  7. Then that just makes it more ridiculous. "I'm going to force myself to use the new site to post on the forums to increase my bile so I can dump it in the thread." Block Increased To 61 *snappy drum-sound* Seriously, if your "eyes hurt," why would you not just hit the singular link (no digging!) in the corner to flip to the forums? Speech Increased to 49 *snappy drum-sound*
  8. Uh, nothing changed on the forum site... I love the new site design. Yeah, it's not as good as it should be, and yeah, there are some improvements crying out for improving, but you know what? Don't care. I'm not here to oooh and aaah over the site aesthetics, I'm here to support the community out of love for that community, not the site. Just like grandpa in the nursing home, you still go to visit him even if you don't like his surroundings. My responsibility as a member of the community is to hold my fellow members up, for one, and two, hold them responsible so that they don't get in trouble. Lead by example. That sort of thing. I thought I was doing a rather fine job by pointing out, hey, you don't have to be a dick if you don't like something. Point it out, explain why you don't like it and what you think could be done to improve it. (That last part is important, believe it or not) Point out good feedback (even if it's feedback I don't necessarily agree with) and give out kudos to those who made the effort to forge their dislike into a usable tool for the admins to use to make changes for the better. How? For those who need a refresher course, don't worry, I got you. Here is a wikihow page (with pictures, too!) on giving constructive criticism. You'll want to pay attention to part 2, in particular, section 5: Avoid negative language, blaming and personal attacks. This will reduce the likelihood that the recipient of your critique will respond in a defensive or angry manner.Avoid harsh, evaluative language, such as "you're wrong" and "your idea is stupid." [Gee, like members saying, "This site sux balls! I hate it!"]Couch your criticism in "I" statements to speak from your own experience and also to show how the other person's actions are affecting you or your situation. For example, "I feel that this report could have been improved. I wanted to see a clearer discussion of major ideas so that we could have a better sense of where we need to go from here."Avoid "you" statements that directly blame the individual receiving criticism. For example, instead of saying "Your report failed to effectively convey the main ideas," try saying "This report could have been more specific in terms of the main ideas." [...as opposed to saying, "Ermergerd! I'm leavin' the site because you made it useless!"]Remember, kids... http://www.reactiongifs.us/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/the_more_you_know_nbc.gif
  9. I think a simple UI change in the splash page would be useful. Move the News & Announcements section up to the top, shrink the tiles for the different games to icon size (like the size of the little SKSE icon on our task bars) and put them to the side, and then make the All of Our Mods section dynamic--depending on what you select in the side bar where the icons are, changes the options presented in that mods section. Problem solved. I don't find the site contrasty on my Macbook when browsing generally. I don't know what people are talking about. I like the clean look, but agree that the buttons should either be rendered in 3D or the text on the buttons and the links itself should be made bigger and bolder. Keep up the good work! :)
  10. lol Wut? No Spiderman-Derailed-The-Thread Jokes? I would actually like to see the News & Updates section moved up with the list of games on the side. The News should be the first thing we see in case Dark0ne has to make important announcements about the site itself.
  11. I was just speaking generally, with that, since you made the remark about the $2 thing. Yes, because this: "The new design is so bad that I have wholeheartedly stopped supporting this website...ontop of reactivating my AdBlock for the Nexus only." ...is hypocrisy when you aren't even a paid member, nor have you even paid the $2 to turn off ads. It's $2, not $20, not $10. I could go collect cans in my basement and get $2. If he's complaining about $2, or trying to insinuate that is some kind of huge investment in the site that gives him the right to patently false statements like this: "This redesign is non-functional and downright unnecessary, and I'll not support the Nexus if it continues to make decisions that reduce the utility of the overall website for its users." ...that is hypocrisy, and he is wrong because even premium members have no vote, and nothing gives any member the right to sit there and post demonstrably false statements about the site. And I'm willing to bet he never once turned off the AdBlock in the first place because of the way he tacked that on at the end, as if throwing one last barb in there. Learn to read between the lines of people's b.s.
  12. What money? He's not a paid member, didn't even pay for the service to turn off the ads, and yet, he's willing to say something like that? That's hypocritical, pure and simple. To threaten to not post mods you haven't even made makes that statement even more asinine.
  13. A member since July of this year, and that's all it took to drive you away? What "future contributions?" The mods you might have made? AdBlock for Nexus. Woo. $2 USD and you don't need it. You're getting that worked up about $2? Give me your paypal, I'll give you the $2 back myself.
  14. I myself had suggested a one-second delay on the drop-down just so that you actually had to deliberately hover your cursor over the buttons.
  15. ^ See? This is what I've been saying the whole time. The changes are coming. Just be patient, ladies and gentlemen. We don't have to resort to confrontational language (in this of all threads), and we don't have to be dicks ourselves. The changes may be slow (and I have a feeling that will speed up), but they are coming. This and the other thread are being sliced, diced, analyzed, digitized and memorized. Believe that. Dark0ne hears us. He passes along stuff he and the other admins read in these threads to the web designer (and he used the definitive singular tense, so I'm assuming there is only one overseeing the UI and site design), but he has to balance a budget, deal with thousands of complaints a day (along with answering important correspondence and threads in the bug section), plus, his day job, overseeing Vortex, his family, his pets, and his broke down car. :P So try to be a little patient, huh?
  16. How do you know it's change for the illusion of evolution? Have you seen Dark0ne's schedule? Have you sat in on his conversations with the other admins about what's to come? How do you know that the new website isn't being designed behind the scenes to interface better with Vortex? How do you know that he's not about to try to lessen the amount of money flying out of his pocket so that he can put it towards more stuff for us? Seriously, people threatening to leave? If you're using this as an excuse to leave, you were already looking for a reason to leave, and this just happened to be a convenient excuse.
  17. No flaming from me. I kind of like the new site, but I can see how this would be helpful. +1 Especially if it has Gopher's voice doing the narration. lol  Stick around, man. At least until after Vortex is released. Then make your judgement. Will it hurt to wait an extra month or two? Probably not, and you may find that in the coming months, much of what is being discussed here will be reflected in the refinements the site undergoes. ...is my response when your comments are that confrontational towards someone who doesn't have to give you @#$%. Robin does this free. Premium is an option to membership, not a prerequisite. You could have easily said that you don't like the new site, and will hold off on a premium membership until your concerns are addressed. You chose to go a different route. Just as Dark0ne has chosen to go a different route with his website that is a privilege for us to use.
  18. Again, it's a shame to lose people, but if those people won't even wait until after the release of Vortex... *shrug* What can I say? I'd like to see the web designer's response to all this, too. That would be interesting to hear her side of it and why she made certain choices over others. Any chance you can invite her in for a civil Q&A, Dark0ne? To keep it civil, you (Dark0ne) could present our questions to her (to keep cranks and trolls from doing what they do) in a thread?
  19. Dark0ne and others have already said that a two-site setup ain't going to happen, the least of the reasons being that it's too expensive. If you would like to kick in $10,000 USD a year in small, unmarked denominations to Robin to pay for maintaining that second website, feel free. I'll even help you by finding a place to send it to. Robin has a single web designer working on this, and she is undoubtedly working on things right now. Fact: Website ain't going back to the old. Fact: Too expensive, not enough personnel. Fact: Web hosting is expensive. Fact: Web design outsourcing is expensive. Fact: Some changes take time to implement as in some cases, you can't just go in and change something without it having a cascade effect and causing other stuff to need to be fixed. Has no one here tried modding Skyrim? Same issues. Install a mod, changes one thing, but suddenly, you find it altered something else completely unexpectedly. I challenge anyone to try using Google Pages correctly their first time with no flaws. Vortex isn't even out, and so many people are already busy trying to be as vocal as possible in how much they detest the new site on another thread or three, and that wears on people's nerves and saps the will to keep working on something. Do I really need to remind people about how certain celebrity modders left the Nexus after being made the target of abusive posting and constant negativity? Why not wait until after Vortex comes out to make a decision? Right now, Vortex is the main focus to make sure that goes off without a hitch, and so of course, the website design might take a second chair to that in the meantime. Edit: Also, is there any way to incorporate a red flag alert on our images in the Manage Images section so that we know when someone comments on our images? That's the one thing that annoyed me with the old site. It doesn't alert you when someone comments on an image you uploaded.
  20. Please refer to page one, post one of this thread. Thank you!
  21. There. That should answer the question about returning to the old design definitively. tl;dr: (with apologies to Dark0ne--wasn't able to quote it)
  22. Probably about the same time people stop making blanket statements. I don't know who "no-one" is, but I don't mind it too much, and I fully expect it to get better. Have you spent more than five minutes trying? And is there anything that you do like about the new site? Great. Anything you like? Any ideas for making it better? No. Stop asking. Start reading the posts. And if you really want to be pro-active, how about making a suggestion or two about things that could be changed that might make it better in your humble opinion? Again, blanket statement. They're not forcing me. I can choose to leave at any time and not come back. For all we know, the other site's formatting could be obsolete and getting the dustbin, forcing the site owner to have to choose another site host. Ha! Ethreon, you never fail to crack me up, even when I'm the target of your acerbic barbs! lmao :P Step 1: ??? Step 2: Profit Now, anything you care to add about what you do like about it? Or what you think could use some change that would make it better for all? Ruined? Really? Did it crash? Ruined compared to what? I see admins attempting to walk a line between necessary change and keeping everyone happy, and doing a fine job of attempting to stay ahead of the eight ball. The problem, I believe, is that it feels like the web designers Dark0ne hired have never played Skyrim before, and thus don't appreciate our needs organically the way someone who plays and mods Skyrim would. If that makes sense.
  23. I stand corrected. But USSEP covered functionality and a lot of the oddball bugs, right?
  24. Glad you didn't go anywhere! :P Thanks, Ethreon. I knew it was still around, just not where. ...okay, okay...there may have been a little bit of laziness involved... :ninja:
