Now why doesn't that surprise me? :P What baffles me is why a manual install vs. a NMM install of the same bsa would result in different outcomes. In any case, I don't use NMM; I had tons of issues with it when I first gave it a try back in April; went back to trusty ol' Wrye Bash.
-
For some incredibly odd reason that I can't figure out personally, some users are unable to use BSA versions whereas loose files work fine for them.
-
I would think it would be possible. I used to play Oblivion from a laptop (had a GTX 200M or something like that as the main video) and then had some external card (can't remember which one) connected via a ViDock (mine was like their original "prototype/proof-of-concept" model, allowed for a single, external video hard). Note that this was like 3 years ago, I just checked the ViDock page and it appears they've significantly improved their offerings. :)

I'm assuming you've tried all the "typical" measures to activate your mod (you have Skyrim configured to use mods, mod is selected in your Skyrim Launcher data files, activated in whatever mod manager you use, etc.). If all that fails: Go to your computer's local use directory for whatever account you used to install Skyrim. From there, navigate to AppData\Local\Skyrim. Look for a file called plugins.txt, open it up, and check if your mod files are listed. If they're not there, add them in the appropriate places (use BOSS for your load order unless you know exactly what you're doing). Reload Skyrim and the mod should be active.
-
Given that just about everyone uses a different mod set, it's pretty much impossible to determine whether the set you list will be "good" or run into issues at some point short of having a complete playthrough and mimicking your exact path, etc. I wish I had a better answer for you, but that's really the nature of modded games. The only one you listed that is jumping out at me is Sounds of Skyrim; you may want to read this thread to minimize any potential issues. That being said, here's what I'd recommend: Start a pure vanilla game (or one with MINIMAL mods that you are CERTAIN work just fine together, e.g., HD DLC, USKP Use that game to get out of Helgen (e.g., finish MQ101), and keep a baseline copy of the save file Start adding mods to your baseline, and use BOSS for your load order until you're comfortable with making manual adjustments when necessary Avoid quick/autosaves and use new save slots Make sure you install mods in the 'right' order; note that this is different than your load order Make sure you have the horsepower in your rig/graphics card to run your texture packs The problem is that some potential conflicts won't arise until you're fairly into the meat of the game, so even installing mods after MQ101 only goes so far.

[WIP] Cerwiden -SMART Healer- Dev Opinion Poll 3
Mujuro replied to Mujuro's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Not far away at all! And I still have quite a lot to do with Ceri's installment questline. In terms of intermod/follower compatibility, I really don't believe that will be an issue as a general matter. The larger question is HOW we want the respective followers to interact, and whether the voice assets within each of our mods are structured in a way that can be easily (relative term, of course) pulled and used by the other mods. And this all depends on how the assets get set up, at least from what I've seen in building Ceri's initial interaction foundation. That said, I've not meaningfully tested this foundation with truly "custom" companions like Atvir, Vilja or DreamKingMods' Aela, so I could be drinking my own bathwater. :P -

Right now, no, it's just revoiced vanilla by ThePoeticOne. But I've not gotten around to doing her "romance" subplot yet, which likely won't come until after I get her next "main" quest installment in. :) -
Nothing is jumping out at me from your load order; are you using BOSS to handle the ordering? Also, did you happen to uninstall Sounds of Skyrim recently? I'm not sure the ess file will contain any 'errors' per se, but your logs MAY shed some light if you'd like to post a link to them. They'll be in the logs folder of where your saves are at.

[WIP] Cerwiden -SMART Healer- AI Configurable Companion
Mujuro replied to Mujuro's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
@Shadowleecher Make sure you've updated to v1.6.3 and followed the install instructions carefully if you originally went from 1.5 or earlier to 1.6. If she's wandering away from you while she's an active follower, and assuming you don't have load order conflicts, you've got another mod that is overriding the default follower package stack. Unless you're using a companion framework mod that alters the default follower package(s), Ceri uses the vanilla follower packages (I did it this way to maximize compatibility with other mods) when she's actively following you. -
A few top-of-mind things: Make sure you don't have other programs running in the background. Make sure you have any desktop enhancements that gobble memory turned off (e.g., Windows Aero themes) Turn off unnecessary background services that you're not using while playing. I wouldn't recommend you even fiddle with ENB and/or texture packs until such time as you've got a decently running game using whatever graphics setting you want. Once you have that stabilized and performing adequately, then do a full backup of your Skryim before installing ENB, new textures, etc.
-
What do your logs say? Just looking at your load order, there's nothing jumping out at me as to what would cause that sort of bloat, but I'm not familiar with some of the ones you listed. Also, can you post your numbered load order? Something that looks like this:
-
It may just be that Nexus is experiencing a lot of traffic right now. I was able to go in and tag "New Textures" for you as well.

Cerwiden's Wardrobe and Hairstyles Important note for AFT users: Versions of AFT since Ceri's v1.7 release are interfering with Ceri's wardrobe functions. This is because AFT forces Ceri out of her normal aliases and into AFT-specific packages, and there are conflicting commands being issued. I've contacted Dheuster about this already. Q: How often does Cerwiden change outfits/hairstyles? Q: How will Cerwiden's outfit changes affect gear I give her? Q: I don't want Cerwiden changing outfits/hairstyles, can I disable this? Q: What do the "This outfit is special" and "This outfit is for adventuring" options mean? -

[WIP] Cerwiden -SMART Healer- Dev Opinion Poll 3
Mujuro replied to Mujuro's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I can't wait! :) And I thought Ceri having a few hundred lines was a lot. :) I've very much been meaning to try out your mod but Ceri's updates have been keeping me busy. I've heard some wonderful things about what you've done with Atvir, which is why I added him to the potential 'interaction' list. :) I just looked up your mod after seeing your post, and it looks great! I'll add it to my mods-to-play list. :) Generally speaking, what I've got with Ceri in v1.6 is a 'basic' ability for her recognize other followers. For about 70% of the 'vanilla' followers, including Aela, she'll recognize by name (but I've not yet included banter for Aela yet), and she'll have a few banter lines with maybe 3-4 followers. Ceri will also recognize 'mod' followers generically; I'm still working on building the 'bridge' so to speak where she'll recognize mod followers individually. One of my goals with Ceri is to be able to have her interact in a more meaningful way with the player's other followers beyond just random banter lines and basic scenes. Not that I'm saying that the followers should run off and 'quest' on their own per se, but for them to be more 'situation aware' and have corresponding scene dialogue, banter, and perhaps even be able to comment/interact on one another's goals, aspirations, etc. :) -
@mkta You should try using BOSS to handle your load order unless you really, really know what you're doing in terms of manual ordering of mods. In terms of log size, that you're experiencing is highly unusual. There are a few mods where authors are a bit verbose in terms of dropping comments for debug purposes (which IMHO is not a bad idea), but even then, your log size is HUGE. I rarely play for more than a couple hours at a time, but I can't remember a single instance where my log was over 500k much less 2mb+. In terms of mods adding a lot of objects (particularly NPCs), that really goes to (i) what the underlying Skyrim game engine can handle effectively, as well as (ii) your laptop. You may have just been overburdening your laptop.

Hi everyone, Cerwiden's new development opinion and feedback poll is up, and will be open at least until I release v1.7. The current version, v1.6 incorporates the feedback received on the poll I released during v1.5, and includes voice consistency (now that Ceri's moved off FemaleYoungEager to her own custom voice, thanks to ThePoeticOne), a bunch of new dialogue, random party banter and the first installment of her backstory/quest. I've got the basic concept of her questline determined, but would like some feedback/opinions on a couple of areas, and those are the questions for this latest poll. If there are other things you'd like me to consider, please feel free to post a separate comment. Please understand that with my RL family obligations, work schedule, etc., I won't be able to do "everything" that you all would like me to do (or even what I, personally, would like to achieve). While I can't make any promises, I hope you've all seen that I do try to take your comments and feedback into account with each new Ceri version. :) Thanks again to everyone who provided suggestions, comments and feedback for Ceri; Ceri wouldn't be where she is today without each and every one of you. :) Mujuro EDIT 24 Oct 2012: Thanks for the feedback everyone! Now that Ceri v1.7 is done, I'm closing this poll and will start thinking about how to add more interaction elements for Ceri v1.8. I'll be putting up a new dev poll for Ceri v1.9 shortly. :)

You may want to ask the author of Grey Ledge Manor; AFAIK, it does not rain in his home that has no load doors and is wholly in an exterior cell.
