0 - *** Make sure the unpacker you use (Winrar or whatever) is configured to 'honor' (keep) the folders structure *** some may unpack all the files under the extraction root folder and this is "troubles" here. 1 - Aways read the mod's documentation 2 - If the mod is released as a packed 7z file: a - The only thing you see into the packed file is a folder with the mod's name (and maybe some informative only files) - That mod is meant to be unpacked and choices are to be made about what to install (may exist optionals or mutually excluding parts) b - You see only a folder named "data" - albeit you should yet read the documentation, normally this mod can be extracted directly into the Oblivions install folder attention, I meant the Oblivion folder. You don't want to create another /data inside the actual /data c - You see some files, such as ESPs, ESMs and some folders like /textures, /meshes, /sounds ... - in this case you must unpack everything inside the /data folder. 3 - If something did go wrong return to step one and make sure you follow it. 4 - If you got here and did the previous steps you came to the right place. State your problem the clearer and simple possible yet in your topic title and description. Try avoiding the use of words such as HELP, N00B... they don't help understanding the mod issue but may help to show what is your problem and most experimented helpers may frown from even look at your post.

weird message "wtf?! i'm a missing texture!" sho
nosisab replied to 133794m3r's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Your's not the load order case, follow the bben advices, things you should verify first are: should not have a folder named data into the actual data folder. The same thing: should not exist a folder named textures inside the actual texture folders. Conversely as stated by bben, the textures and meshes files should not be directly into the /data. Last but not the least, all mods that have those files and folders must have than installed too, installing only the ESP may be the cause for the symptoms you are experimenting. Be aware than uninstalling some mod that did overwrite another textures or meshes will cause the issue too, in that case you should attempt doing the 'Archive invalidation' thing from the OBMM as the first procedure to trace down the problem. Resuming, that problem of yours is almost aways one of these three 1 - the files are just missing 2 - the files are wrongly placed 3 - the files were deleted altogether with some former installed mod(what becomes the case 1 but may be solved by the Archive invalidation procedure if they change original textures and meshes) PS: The README from mods have that name for a reason... some meshes may address texture files at specific locations such as specifics subfolders inside the /textures folder (just an example) and so, the texture files must go into those subfolders instead directly into the /textures folder. never is so much to stress: aways read the README when installing a mod. Make sure the unpacker you use (Winrar or any other) is configured to 'honor' (keep) the folders structure. They may place all files directly under the extraction root folder instead and this is sure troubles. -
A common mistake is the belief OMOD is something different in the ways the engine sees the mod. OMOD is just a compressed file and 'in fact' the same thing as the 7z file with an extra folder with installing procedures and general informations (which may include it's own script to allow choices about what to install). So it is in nothing unlike any other mod directly installed, it have all the files the no OMOD version would have and any and every file can be retrieved from it (and it can be unpacked without issues justly changing the omod extent for 7z, since it is just a 7z, if for some reason the user will not use OBMM to do so). Beyond putting the files and folders in the correct structure and places, it will keep a track of what it installs, making eventual deactivation so much easier (deactivating an OMOD actually removes the ESPs and other files from the mod at the /data structure). But, if the mod overwrites something, obviously it may be an issue don't matter if OBMM did it or they were deleted 'by hand' and the other mod responsible for the overwrote files must be reinstalled. Those are only some advantages of using the OMOD format, there is much more on it, just try installing something complex like the omod version of the darnfied gui to have a feel of it's scripting powers (among several other mods that do the same). PS: Just for the 'clearness' sake, the Oblivion's engine is not (even) aware of the OMOD's presence, it will 'see' only the ESPs and the other files, as aways did.

At some extent yes, but streamline have some others interesting features and as stated can be tweaked to be less intrusive (or more as well). Among the features I like it's the ability to make a configurable number of different "quicksaves" that are like the normal saves, better saying, without the troubles that sometimes affects the normal quicksave. PS: OBSE doesn't touch configurations of any kind, but mods using it can, as mods that don't use it can too. So, before blaming something as guilt, better is exposing the issues and find out the real culprit. Does no good to the mods or their authors when such is done in the very topic's title.

After so many displays of stupidity from some 'insert nameless here' causing distress among the modders, it's refreshing to know you are getting out for far better reason, Alex. All goodnesses to you, make a presence between now and while whenever possible. And thanks for all you already did for the modding community.

No (I forbid one getting in here) a lot of things spread in random pattern?

ban wasder for not forgetting incorrectly spelling retroactively ban anyone with non linearity in thinking... uhh...ops
-
ban wasder for not being able :P and for "faliure" at expressing failure (obs: there's no mistake, it's meant to be "expressing" in fact, not typing)

Ban Monolithic0117 for having different banning standards, I banned someone long ago for using an avatar that 'suggest' (show?) the 'product' of human thinking (The Thinker, Rodin) literally 'going down'... I like to make people think. This way I ban you because I understand what you say, it computes? you ban me because you do not understand me, it computes? So get banned because there is no convolution in my sentence, neither a loop or it is recursive, not even a goto Not because a classical logic, not a fuzzy logic. They too be banned here (paraconsistent?... shoo, shooo) Anyway I ban you just because it's fun doing so, it's yet better I can ban everyone who dared to ban anyone in the meanwhile, because it's fun :) In time: Obviously we can use any logic we want to ban anyone, we must just be careful to not let (I like split infinitives, they are impossible on my native idiom, sniff) this becoming a logic war, for the fun's sake. Hail Sheogorath!!! To understand me, one must be able to non linear thinking and shall seek the meanings beyond simple words.

baning Monolithic0117 because the proposition computes, oh yeah, maybe more than not understanding. Thinking better... no ban for something like that...be baned because baning you here is just fun

Durham, this is an insanely cool project. Is it part of a larger mod, or will it standalone? As you may have guessed, I wrote an epitaph for each of my characters. I'm going to suggest your thread elsewhere, we have a character bio thread, and people with high investment in their characters' histories and biographies are likely to take an interest in your project, as well as offer some very creative epitaphs. You beat me :) I was going to suggest this thread have potential to be alive even after accomplished the original purpose.

Antimar Fuerkrand - He feared the sky would fall on his head, he should look to the ground this time in the Jerall Mountains. Alentus Lostius - He believed he could solve anything with words, yet he didn't know trolls gets annoyed with long discourses. Nosmartus Antus - I was with him when he said: "They are just a few gobblins" or did tell him kobolds? I couldn't hear clearly that far away.
-
Good luck, I hope you find someone with more serious ideas :)
-
Antius Pecunius - He should not say: Intelligence is far better, you stupid ogre. Pancius Glutilius - He believed that paradise was a good diner; that bear too.
-
The mudcrab was faster you can prefix it with Here Lies Marikas longlegs ... I'm with the strange feeling that is not what you want :) PS: In the attempt to redeem me: "Osnath Feldus" a good fellow whose first (and last) attempt to hunt a slautherfish could be a bit more successful without his prized adamantine full plate.
-
Good question. Maybe hunt down some kobolds and afterward dominate Cyrodiil all in the while planning to take the Oblivion realms themselves. The problem is There are very few things to do with an army in the game, except creating another army to face yours. What eventually could turn Oblivion into a somewhat poor RTS.

my PCs never did get very rich, yet some rumors says a few beggars, mainly in the IC, Had bought mansions and one was seen buying a last year black horse.

how many people are still playing morrowind?
nosisab replied to JazzBlack's topic in Morrowind's Discussion
Most reasons to play that game yet today were posted already, with MGE it can be yet almost as appealing graphically as Oblivion (and so much machine hungry as it, or more). It is that kind of game made to pass the test of time, for a long time, at least :) -
Indeed you need the original Exnem if you will use HGEC, unless it was incorporated in HGEC's newest versions, what I think was not. HGEC primarily is higher resolution textures to replace the ones from exnem's, yet this last is the one that have all the others files needed. PS: Here the INSTALL order is meaningful. Exnem is to be installed first, so to not overwrite the textures from HGEC.

Ban Monolithic0117 so many pages ago, and the mob of 2 or 3 that made then in a few hours, justly for this reason, since shall be funban rules.
-
Follow the rules, calliton. Banning jaosals42 for going out of his way to ban Pushkatu every once in a while. ban the rules and jaosals42 together (oh, yeah, make me happy, baby... a double ban for the price of one! :) )

Long time don't look at this thread and I'm astonished... Do I see intelligent life here again? (well, indeed not so surprised at all)... but no, not the right time yet. Do tremble all of you, I may return! BWAHAHAHAHA (good natured guy trying to sound evil). As soon as my now better friend, the squirrel, think the time is due.

ban dezdimona albeit I have banned her so much before. But this time's just because she got in the way to reach any other.

Bloodmoon Installed bloodmoon now I get an error
nosisab replied to lordneverar's topic in Morrowind's Lore
Something strange here. The correct installation order is first Tribunal and just so, Bloodmoon. I'd suggest installing them before any patching (and before any modding) and apply the patches for bloodmoon afterwards, since a install over a already modified base is the only thing I can think that may mess with the process, other than corrupted media. -
Oblivion have the console command SDT # (where #=2 was common) and afterwards TDT. Since they have similar engines this may work but I'm not sure. You can give it a try. Now, the 3rth part tool will not weight enough to falsify the results and you can rely on them (like fraps). PS: SDT stands for Set Debug Text and # is one of the several debug types. TDT Toggles the debugging on/off
