  1. Aye, Thought a bit about the Rieklings, might be a bit non-lore friendly. Thanks for understanding my point of view about Hearthfire  It means alot that someone who was first against it turned to other way. Oven mod doesn't need any kind of integration. I think. As far as he used vanilla oven lists and such it should work perfectly. I wasn't able to find mentions about "Skyrim" and "Bristlebacks", so I am not sure if I need to change the name to Boar. Personally I'd just prefer to keep it "Bristleback" However, feel free to say which suits better. As for the Bristlebacks way of treating others.. Maybe a bit less offensive? I am using another mod that adds the very basic bristleback into Skyrim, and it seems to be quite offensive. It could be made to be a bit more like boar and less like kamikaze- skeever by adjusting factions it uses. (So that it attacks predators when they attack it, but it's not straightforward offensive against everything) Couple of other thoughts: More hawks? One-two circling near Hearthfire houses? Near some high places like Dragonsreach? (This is a bit off the original idea of the mod) Felsaad Tern at the very northern areas of Skyrim? Winterhold for example. (Felsaad Tern is variant of Hawk) Bone hawks would be really nice at some areas, but I want to hear opinions about adding them into Skyrim. (Maybe circling over some quaranteed necromancer/vampire lairs?) They fly over Volkihar Castle. Dwemer Ballistae: Do people want to see these just in where you would normally find Dwarven spheres? Or would it be more appreciated if I'd go through some places and hand-place them? Hand-placing might take more time, but it'd definitely be better as I'd be able to "control" a bit where I want people to find them. Feel free to tell any ideas and thoughts! i think you could copy them, rename them to boar and add them to a faction. your idea about being non hostile seems good. or maybe make it like giants, they only attack when you get too near to them. newer saw hawsk , though i used birds of skyrim, skybirds and the birds and floks mods alltogether :D actually i dont really care for them ;) but hawks over vampire lairs and necromancer locations could be cool, as long as they fly low enoug to be actually visible while playing and not only when you have time to stare at the scenery. i hope you know what i want to say. hmm i dont know why, but i dont really like the ballistas. definately handplace them on high ground, so they really give you a challenge ;)
  2. naah rieklings in skyrim? i don't know.. maybe add one, but only ONE, riekling village in an appropriate location. depending on wether you helped the rielings or killed them, you can make them friendly or hostile. hmm well your point on hearthfire is valid thinking about all the foods and drinks :/ dawnguard wasnt that heavy on leveled list stuff, which could be added in your upcoming mod. but, hell, i am looking forward to dragonborn integration, because that really offers a lot of stuff to play with in the levelled list! oh and i found a mod that adds ovens all over skyrim (EDIT: for hearthfire), maybe integrate it in your mod or make it compatible. might concider buying hearthfire too. i guess i can afford those 5 bucks :) again: i am really looking forward to your mod, i am currently tracking this thread and if you need feedback just pm me :)
  3. i have dragonborn and dawnguard, but hearthfire...cmon guys you know what i mean .. make at least hearthifre optional pls :) but otherwise support, support, support!!!! and make sure to make it mergable via wrye bash, so you can use it with "immersive loot" and "skyrim redone" :)
  4. no crashes and beatuful dlc. way better than dawnguard. running 120 mods
  5. never had any quest broken. skyrim is stable on my pc with over 100 mods installed. seems to be on your end
  6. i think it was the http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15123#
  7. it even requires dawnguard for the newer versions! or do you mean dragonborn?
  8. short update! i checked my cpu, gpu, ram and vram usage ingame. everything was fine but gpu usage was at 99%, that's why i had microstutters even though i played at 30-40 fps. also i had a lot of ctds coming from that when loading new ugrids or large objects. so what i did was, set iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=2048 iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=2048 instead of 4096 . then set iBlurDeferredShadowMask=3 as it makes shadows more blurry and less edgy. again this will increase performance a lot but yet i looks better because the shadows are smoother, yet a little lower resolution :) lastly make sure to set your anti alisaing to 2x or 4x, under no circumstances at 8x! it looks the same as 4x but comes with a huge fps drop! remember i only have a high mid-range pc, so no ultra gaming rig, but those tweaks increased my performance from 30 to at least 50 fps! and that was only by turning down shadows resolution and anti aliasing! so in conlcusion i can say, that my gpu slowed my pc down and thus limited my skyrim fps. as i have a newer amd-graphics-card i could later easily overclock it :) i now reach vsync frame limit of 60 in normal gameplay, 40 in combat due to ai scripts running :) hope that helped everyone :D TW
  9. i voted for empire/imperial and i will tell you why: the imperials long fled from solstheim i think because of the volcano eruption and the dunmer wanting them out of their island. so why not have a last imperail enclave and as questline you would start gaining respect from other settlemets on solsteheim towards the impreial enclave? intrigues and diplomatics are ideas not really being implemeneted in vanilla skyrim. second idea: dunmer settlements would be nice, but not as interesting because we already have dunmer settlements. maybe improve te existing ones and their belongign to one of the great houses?
  10. thanks for the interesting and nice to read blog! keep up the awesome work! nexus sites have been my number 1 site for gaming since morrowind! thank you for that service dedicated to us gamers!
  11. not that i know, it merges so good in the world of skyrim, you will hardly notice the npcs werent there before ! i only played a few minutes with nernies village and cities mod so i cant really tell you about that, sry :/
  12. type in pcb and then go to whiterun again. should help
  13. never had any problems with my game. download the unofficial patches, read mod readmes and prevent mod conflicts. tada no or nearly no bugs. hope that helped :)
  14. try attk power loader, it reduces frame dros and cpu spikes. shadows are cpu dependent and not grafics card dependent. so when your cpu overloads, just reduce shadow draw distance, quality of shadows does not have that bad effect on frame rate. at least thats what i had with my skyrim and computer. vsync caps your fps at 60. but srly? your eyes cant even see more than 30
  15. thank you very much 50 :) kudo to you. but compared to 25 fps and constant cpu spikes and fps drops i had before, i do better with both ini settings, so i don't even care that much. i will stick with 4 cores. thanks again :)
  16. thanks :) so i tested with 4 cores and cpu usage was 65% and 42 fps. with 2 cores it was around 50% and 40 fps. what is that supposed to tell me?
  17. hmm i will test that.. will report back. edit: okay i changed iNumHWThreads=4 to iNumHWThreads=2 and fps does not really change (maybe 2 or 3 fps). anyone knows a good benchmark tool to test cpu core usage while testing both values? apart from that i still gained fps increase with the ini settings from the site. so it will benefit wither way :)
  18. while googleing a solution to the fact that my system isnt even running on 100% while playing skyrim ,yet the game still stutters, i found this website. http://online-source.net/tools/cfg-makers/skyrim-cfg-maker/ cfg-maker means config maker or with other words: it will print out a skyrim.ini and a skyrim.prefs ini. the good thing is: every change you do in the .ini files is explained and it comes with a simple ui. you can set the settings to vanilla low, medium, high and ultra and some values even beyond (performance hit! but improved grafics) so why does it improve performance while at the same time improving grafics quality? because you have the ability to toggle on multithreading and multicore-use for quadcores and +. those things are disabled and not even visible in the ini files. now my skyrim looks better (higher lod range, better shadows, uGrids to 7 instead of 5) and runs smoother (finally all 4 cpu cores are used). lastly i downloaded the attk power loader here on the nexus and i play with stable 40 fps in wilderness instead of 30 (which goes down to 15 every 20 seconds, cause of ugrids loading). system is running on 80% instead of 50%. oh and btw my specs are: i5 2500k @3,33 GHz, 8 GB ram, AMD Radeon HD 6970 i was so stunned by the outcome of the ini tweaks, that i had to post it here. hope you enjoy your smooth skyrim experience!
  19. thank you guys, i am doing some research on your headsets now and try to find a good one :) "They have one use: competitive online gaming. Add Recon3d with Cheat Mode on and you get, well, a cheat - basically hearing just footsteps and shots and their exact direction with no echo, ambiance, etc." well thats what i want for battlefield 3. actually it isnt as bad as you describe it, but it definately helps spotting emeies easier while you can't even see them. plus you also got to know from where you are getting attacked by bandits in skyrim muhaha ;)
