  1. I'm seeing all kinds of screenshots of elven characters with muchly improved face colors and head shapes. I absolutely detest the default head shapes with the sunken cheeks that I can't get rid of (both elven and human), what mods are people doing this with?
  2. Would modules with a lot of adult sexual themes violate Nexus's TOS? Would they be allowed to be uploaded here if they're appropriately marked as adult content? Obviously there's nothing really visually explicit, all of it is described through dialogue, but still...
  3. Yikes... thankfully mine are literally just underneath my gums, not huddling down inside my jaw http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/pinch.gif
  4. I need to get my wisdom teeth pulled out soon. :(

I'm kind of sad about it, because there's actually nothing wrong with my wisdom teeth - they're not growing in wrong or otherwise causing any problems themselves, nothing like that. The thing is, some of my *other* molars are really crooked (one is tilted outwards so much that it often irritates the inside of my cheek and I get a lot of sores in that spot), and I need to get braces to straighten them, and the issue with my wisdom teeth is that my other molars won't be able to move and the braces won't work if they're there... so therefore they need to be removed. (I asked about something like Invisalign, but she said that only really works for shifting your front teeth, it can't move your molars because the roots are simply too strong.)

The strange thing is, before my visit to the dentist yesterday when they took a full 360 degree x-ray I didn't even realize I had wisdom teeth. That was a bit of a surprise, since I've had no outward symptoms of it.

The dentist said not to worry, mine will be very easy to remove because none of them are anywhere near my nerve, and they're still quite short (not fully formed yet), so it's unlikely I'll have any serious complications. But still, I'm pretty afraid, this is the most serious dental work I've ever had done in my life. Has anyone else had their wisdom teeth removed? What can I expect to happen? What was your experience like? :(

  5. I'm positive I linked all of the triggers up correctly, but it still doesn't seem to work. The vanilla bookshelf directly beside it is now also messed up, all of the book placement is funky even though I didn't touch it in the toolset.
  6. Grr I hate Skyrim's bookshelves, or rather they seem to hate me. I followed both the tutorials on the CS wiki to the letter. Still a complete failure.

Has anyone succeeded in creating any bookshelves yet that work properly? I've been trying hard and failing.

  7. Seriously, is anyone else having this problem with the CK? It keeps complaining about my various face textures not being 256x256, and tintmasks (lipstick, dirt, etc) are not showing up whenever I try to edit any character in the editor and I'm unable to edit them.
  8. Gee, only a few hours in and I've already spotted a pretty significant problem... there seems to be some issues with the CK handling character textures, particularly ones that are larger than the originals. Also, tint masks are not showing up and therefore I can't edit them... this sucks...
  9. Day after the start of the new semester? Great... too bad I'll be much too busy then...

For some this, for some quite the opposite :) In my country, winter break is just about to begin.

Well this last week was already my "break" because it was exam week (and I only had two exams to write). Oh well..

  10. Another tweet from Bethblog: "not today. it will be next week"

Why, oh why am I once again unsurprised? Good grief, they've been saying the phrase "next week" for the last three months. We've got the rhythm already. Next week will come and ago, then they'll be saying "next week" again, and so on... hence why I've un-subscribed to the sticky thread.

Very disappointing because I start school again next week. Ugh.

  11. Frustrating... I do think Bethesda missed a HUGE opportunity here by not having the CK out sooner. People move on. When you have the kit on day one everyone is excited and jumps right in creating new content and exciting mods while everyone is still pumped up and playing the game. Now we are getting to a timeframe where most people who have purchased have done so... and many people have already run through the existing content many times. By now, if the CK was out there would be tons of new content that players would be swimming in. Instead their attention is going elsewhere.

Sadly from a business perspective I believe they did use people a bit and i believe the big opportunities of the CK are fleeting. They pumped the CK and constantly made game purchasers feel it was just around the corner. Here it we are in Feburary. and it is still just around the corner.

Great game...but i don't blame people for being a bit angry that three months out and no CK. I'm all for getting it right but I think that with a CK you can release in a far more raw form. Modders would have made it work and could have dealt with some bugs here and there. Instead nothing.

Now Bethesda may as well wait until they have an expansion ready and then release the CK with the expansion with another big round of media blitz and a special price if you buy the orig game + expansion.

From a business perspective, the modding community is pretty much the only thing that's keeping Oblivion and Morrowind selling after all these years.

  12. Does it seem to anyone else that Skyrim has a lot more options for "good" characters than Oblivion did? That's kind of how I feel.

Oblivion didn't really have anything for lawful good type characters. There was the Blades, but the faction itself didn't provide any story or quests of its own, and you could only join it if you actually bothered to play the main quest (which I didn't, lol). Most of the other joinable factions were very neutral in terms of morality; the Fighter's Guild were a lot like simple mercenaries who got hired to do jobs requiring muscle (lawful neutral); the Mages' Guild seemed to have a pretty free spirit that wasn't intrinsically evil or good (true neutral); and the Thieves' Guild was sort of like a gang of Robin Hood type of thieves, but they sort of fell into chaotic neutral territory. And of course our beloved Dark Brotherhood was pretty obviously a chaotic evil faction.

Hence why all of my characters in Oblivion ended up being chaotically evil, or anti-heroes.

Mind you, evil is cool and I like being evil in TES land, but I think Skyrim provides much better ways to play a really good kind of character (the Legion/Stormcloaks, the Companions sort of, the main quest...). It's just something different for a change. But once I get bored of being good (like I did in Oblivion), I'm going to go back to being evil again.

Also, has anyone yet tried playing as a vampire in this game? Can you tell me what it's like, is it worthwhile?

  13. Can you turn down becoming a werewolf during the Companions questline? What consequences would doing so have? I want to play the quest, but not become a werewolf, because it doesn't fit the kind of character I'm trying to roleplay.
  14. For me not,but for governments unfortunately yes.

They don't care about humans lifes.

Well, that's very unfortunate. After all, money is an abstraction: it only has value because we say it does.
