  1. This is why I hate words like "soon" and "shortly" etc... extremely vague, IMO. In this case, approximately what does "soon" mean? When is the modding tool going to be released? Is there NO more specific information, even after two weeks?
  2. Hmm, I thought she wasn't actually "Dovahkiin"? Maybe I was thinking about the Septim dudes. But then, she never had any female descendants whatsoever? That's... well... very very odd. But, cool, at least that means that a female protagonist here isn't alone <3
  3. ummm, women are weaker... Testosterone is higher in males... so it just makes sense for males to be predominantly more appropriate for warriors and any type of aggressive activity.

Yeah. No. Rubbish. Women are NOT "weaker". There's a LOT more involved with how someone is physically built than just hormone levels. Believe me, I've actually studied biology in depth. Plus we've got fantasy races here, like Orcs and Nords and Khajiits and Argonians, who differ considerably from "humans". And like I said, the protagonist IS NOT necessarily a warrior at all - they can just as well be a mage or a stealth rogue.

But this isn't something I want to debate and that is not what my post was about. My post was about whether or not there has ever been another female Dragonborn in TES lore because it's something I really want to know.

  4. We'll, maybe YOU can be the first female dragonborn! Just a suggestion...

The Septim emperors ruled for what, 400 years? And not a single one of them ever had a daughter, ever?...

  5. "Mentality"? What mentality? The protagonist has no mentality and may not even be a warrior at all, they could be a stealth fighter or a mage. Don't say the "men are stronger" fancy either, because it's nonsense, it's a video game and a woman can crack skulls open just as easily as any male (or like I said, she might be a rogue or a sorceress). Plus, the Septim emperors were Dragonborns supposedly, but they certainly didn't seem to be real warriors, rogues or mages of any kind.

But my question was, has there ever been mention of another female Dragonborn?

  6. I don't know what it is. Some dumb "heir club for men" rubbish.. Is it because most video game devs are men? In real life, the rates of males and females being born is equally 50/50, for obvious reasons, but it seems to me like the birth of daughters is a ludicrously, astronomically rare event in video games. Compared to the birth of sons, which are common as dirt. What is up with this?

TES seems to follow the exact same trend. Seriously, besides possibly the protagonist of this game, has there ever been any mention of a female Dragonborn? I've read through game books and lore extensively, and I don't remember any mention of any, ever - alll the other Dragonborns were men. Every one of Uriel Septims' four kids were boys. The mentioned children of all the past Emperors were all sons. The only female Emperor (Empress) that I recall has ever been mentioned is Alessia, but I don't believe she was "Dragonborn".

And, knowing this never ending trend, in future games no doubt they're going to make Skyrim's protagonist canonically male. Just as they seem to have done with Oblivion. Go figure.

  7. I'm so sad it's unreal. The tree in our front yard is dying; it's infected with ash bore, and so is virtually every other tree all along our row. That's a total of more than a dozen. And there's no way to get rid of it. There's no saving any of these trees. Their deaths are inevitable, and they all have to be cut down ASAP to keep the affliction from spreading. And because if they are allowed to die, it will cost twice as much to have them removed.

You see, the Emerald Ash Bore is a species of beetle from eastern Asia that has become an invasive species in North America. Since it's foreign the trees here are defenseless against it; it's horrendously destructive, and it's become an epidemic that has killed many millions of ash trees since it was first brought over.

This is why I wish people would stop denying how serious the problem of invasive species is. They don't want to believe how incredibly bad it is to take an organism from one ecosystem and introduce it into another. It messes things up for everything and everyone. You have no idea how much havok we've wreaked by introducing foreign predators, namely cats and dogs, to different ecosystems, such as those isolated on islands.

And now because of some human mistake, this beetle that does NOT belong here is harming our ecosystem. Because of this, we're going to lose a LOT of trees... including mine. This place is going to feel so empty and sad and barren with all of these trees gone... and they take so many many years to grow back again... I'll miss them all so terribly.

In fact, right at this very moment I can hear the lumberjacks sawing away all the poor, now diseased trees. I'm devastated. The one in front of my house will likely be gone very shortly. This is just so horrible.

I'll try to find some comfort solace in planting a new try once the old one is gone... I don't know what kind to plant yet, but it certainly won't be another ash tree. :(

  8. Then why couldn't Arquen or someone else be listener? She was awesome... :(

    There was NO NEED!

Also, no, my Oblivion character DID NOT become Sheogorath. He's a vampire. I had SI but never played it.

  9. There are no Drow in TES, there's Dark Elves, who look quite similar, but they do not live underground...

I wasn't complaining about the shape of the elf faces; mostly just the "extras" they tacked on for no reason, namely the Klingon ridges and wrinkles. That's just too much.

  10. But all the Mage's Guild outlawed was Necromancy, which is far from unreasonable, because in every fantasy type setting it is consistently shown to be a very evil art that leads to corruption and all sort of awful things. (like in DA2, where this fact was played up to a huge extreme...yikes.) WHY was it disbanded after the Mannimarco insanity? I thought we fixed it, we killed him didn't we? Hannibal even sacrificed his life for this. And then all appeared to be well after it was done. What could have gone wrong? :(

And I haven't played through Skyrim's DB yet but I've heard a lot of stuff about it that I don't like - I've heard that it's quite disappointingly short, above all else; the Brotherhood doesn't even follow Sithis's Tenets or hear the Night Mother anymore... oh, and they end up betraying you. I'm not happy.

  11. That brownish-blonde dude is a pig. I don't like him, at all. Ever.

    THE LEGION FOREVER!!!

Especially since my first (current) character is an Imperial woman.

And now a Dunmer man. Ulfric treats us Dunmer like crap so I have no choice but to side with Tullius. He's an okay guy once you develop a sort of relationship.

  12. OMGWTF LOL.

I was out in the wilderness making my way to a Legion fort, when randomly a Dark Brotherhood assassin tried to kill me. A note on his body from "Astrid" said that the Black Sacrament had been performed and failure was not an option. Too bad he failed.. haha.

Anyone else had this happen?! LOL.

Since I'm in the Legion I'm going to assume it was one of those Stormcloak nutcases who had him sent.

  13. So, flying around near the Nightgate Inn is a dragon... but for some reason it refuses to attack me, no matter what I do I can't seem to get its attention, all it wants to do is endlessly fly around in circles.

Also, strangely, nearby there's a lone giant that keeps wanting to kill me even though I don't have my weapon drawn.

Anyone else had this happen? Are all dragons supposed to want to kill you, or are there meant to be some that are actually neutral? Could this simply be a non hostile dragon, or is it a script mixup?

  14. Well my OB wood elves werent "pretty boys", some of them were kind of overly "cute" looking, especially cause they're so short, but my personal Wood Elfs was a stoic looking rogue. Cause he was extremely rogue-ish like all wood elfs are. What can be wrong with that?
  15. Yes, of course you'll still be allowed in all the cities! The guards will occasionally make an annoyed comment if they see you wearing Legion/Stormcloak armor (depending on who they're loyal to) but they won't do anything to you.
  16. Oh goodness, the eyes too! Thank you for mentioning that...

I'm still not sure what on Nirn that is all about. Why do the elves have such ridiculously weird eyes? I thought there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with them having human-y eyes. In fact I think Altmer and Bosmer looked just beautiful in Oblivion with "Elaborate Eyes".

I miss you Garahel (my Oblivion wood elf dude)..

  17. Well lets see... the humans are perfectly fine, save for some weird odds and wrinkles, which were easily fixed with Gimps' blur tool.

Argonians are awesome, though I'm disappointed that the females still have breasts when they really shouldn't.

Khajiits look cool. Now our favourite kitties can have some individual variation! Yay!

Orcs are awesome as well. No longer look like the lime green clay I made for a history class project, now they look like some ludicrously sexy beasts!

Elves, however... Bethesda made a big blunder here.

Dear God, they've made elves so ugly it's unreal. I think the way they looked in Arena/Daggerfall/Morrowind/Oblivion was perfectly fine. Why the heck did they have to go and make them look like Klingons? Seriously, those rubber forehead aliens ceased to be attractive or even remotely likeable back in the 1980's.

I'm upset. In Oblivion elven men were smoking hawt... now... well... it's the opposite.

Thankfully some talented modders fixed the issue with the wrinkles and plastic foreheads, but they still look pretty homely. I pray they release the CK soon. I need to fix this so bad. :(

  18. Why would it be making... ANY changes? What on earth? All the said files were ghosted by Wrye Bash to begin with, nothing that was active at the time was corrupted.

And some of those were ESPs I made myself so I don't have another copy... there is no way to fix them?! :(

Wow, I'm so upset it's unreal. I'm never touching this program again.

  19. OH MY GOD WHAT HAPPENED AND HOW DO I FIX THIS!!!!

I updated BOSS and now suddenly a crapload of my esp files have been busted, they're "ghosted" but now suddenly Wrye Bash isn't picking them up and they're all 0 bytes, WHAT...

Please help me, what do I do?? :(

It happened right after I was forced to force-quit OBMM because it crashed. OBMM will still pick up the files just fine, but offers no utilities for fixing them... wtf is this?
