Have you just tried disabling and reinstalling the mod? Also are any NPC's wearing the cloaks?

Wait did you mean Skyrim isn't real or the "Real" world isn't real? Blows my mind either way.

Are there some historical inconsistencies?
thompsonar replied to sgman1's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I'm not that big into the overall lore of the series and the only other installment I have played is Morrowind, but to answer the OP's question about the dragon priests, didn't they reawaken when the dragons came back? Thought I heard that or read it somewhere in the game (or on the loading screen). That's all I have. -
Classes, Builds and Equiptment. (High End Powerplay)

Yeah I know it can be overpowered in vanilla, but I try not to stun lock enemies repeatedly and really haven't used conjuration a lot. Here is my current build (some numbers are estimated as I'm not at home) Breton Mage level 44 Antroch Stone Health 200 Magicka 540 Stamina 100 Main Skills Destruction 104 (use an uncapper so I don't have to level skills that don't fit the char) Alteration 105 Enchanting 74 Illusion 58 Restoration 60 something Conjuration 47ish Main Spells Thunderbolt Incinerate Icy Spear Dragonhide Frenzy Paralyze Fast Healing Magelight (using realistic lighting so this one I use almost constantly at night) Gear (Don't use armor and not sure how everything is enchanted but I have a mod that has more clothing items) Circlet Necklace 2 Armbands Earrings Ring Cloak Shirt Skirt Stockings Shoes All enchanted with one of the following enchantments fortify destruction, illusion, magicka, magicka regeneration, frost resist, fire resist, magic resist. I've enchanted it all myself and don't really use any magic items I find even though they might be better (archmage robes for instance). I'm really trying to take this character pretty far. I just finished the main quest last night for the first time and am starting the civil war now. I get killed pretty easily if anyone ever actually hits me, with the exception of other mages who do almost no damage to me whatsoever. I hardly ever use any potions at all and usually don't even carry any with me. Don't really use shouts at all either. I'm enjoying this character and have kept her around much longer than most of my other ones. -

I've often wondered if I shouldn't just drop some of my mods that seem to be counter productive. I'll explain, I have balanced magic which makes your magic scale and do more damage, but after installing that I switched to only playing on Master and increasing enemies stats with the Deadly Dragons Configurator. So would it be the same if I dropped balanced magic and then didn't add health/damage with DD? I continue to undo the effects of the Balanced Magic mod as I level as well. As my damage goes up I go and increase everything's health/armor/stamina/damage. If I dropped the mod and just played master would I notice a difference? Harder? Easier? I do not know (kinda rhetorical questions). I just like the fact that my damage goes up with my skill and I get the illusion of being stronger, even if I negate it with another mod. A Strange thing indeed. edit: sorry to be off topic slightly -
I've noticed some funny business with the locked chests as well. I don't know if it's all just completely random or what. But I have opened many an expert or master lock to find about 20 gold and a minor potion. Then like you say there are times when you find a novice chest with some enchanted weapon and 150-200 gold. Sometimes I do get good stuff out of high level locks and sometimes I get crap out of unlocked/low level locks, this is what makes me think it's just entirely random and the locks are there as you mentioned to gain experience.

No Dragons Less Dragons Did you search the files at all? Can't vouch for these as I've never used them, but I'm sure there are plenty of variations of them as I found these two in about a minute.

mod manager and skyrim data question?
thompsonar replied to Adnanahmed1's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
In the mod manager do you have a check beside Dawngaurd in the plugins tab? I don't have DG so I'm just guessing that it shows up in the mod manger. The other thing you can do is check the game launcher to make sure DG is enabled in the data files section. Have you tried reading watching/reading a tutorial on how to use the mod manger? On the main Skyrim Nexus page you can find the tutorial under the "Mod Manager" tab. -
Really you just need to level anything that isn't at 100. Level one handed, archery, sneak, pickpocket, or whatever you want. Alchemy should be easy enough to get up to 100. I like to just grab every ingredient I can while exploring and throw them in a barrel in my house then every once and a while go and make a couple hundred potions. To comment on the pickpocket thing, the 90% cap really frustrates me. 90% my @#% I still fail almost every time, someone needs to teach the devs how percentages work. edit: spelling fix

The fire damage is an enchantment that is added on to the base damage. So it would cause 30 damage plus 10 fire damage. That's how I understand it at least.
-
Yeah they are obviously using some sort of uncapper. I haven't used one but I would think it would make leveling to very high levels easier. Since you get more experience for skills that are higher, you should get a lot of experience leveling say one handed up to level 150. Getting to level 81 without mods is probably tedious and requires a lot of training and redundant activities. You have to get everything to 100 to get there, whereas with the uncapper you can just keep leveling your major skills and not worry about the low skills you don't use that won't give you much of an experience boost anyway. But I've never gone past level 45 so I'm no expert on this stuff.
-
No. You can start over and make the same character then use the console to add skills/stats/items. But I'm pretty sure the answer to your question is no.
-
I get a lot of those killcams where the enemy doesn't die as well. I was wondering if it's because I raised the enemies armor/health with deadly dragons. That wouldn't really make sense though. I'd say about 1 out of `5 kill cams results in me actually killing the target.

Skyrim lagg with no reason! Please help [Emergency]
thompsonar replied to Murkrow900's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Have any programs running in the background that you forgot about? Any scheduled system maintenance that could be running (defrag, antivirus, etc)? Not sure what would cause lag like that out of nowhere. You didn't change anything yourself? How big are your save files (located in C:\Users\[userName]\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves)? -
mod manager and skyrim data question?
thompsonar replied to Adnanahmed1's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Have you looked in C:\Users\[userName]\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves (where "UserName" is your windows logon name) to make sure your save files are still there? Also what option are you picking to launch skyrim in the mod manager? You really don't have to launch the game through the manager to get the mods to work. You can install the mods with NMM and then launch the game through steam (or skse if you're using that) just like you always did. -
mod manager and skyrim data question?
thompsonar replied to Adnanahmed1's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Care to elaborate on what you mean by "when I go into the mod manager my saved stuff isn't in the game?" If you installed mods manually they aren't going to show up in the mod manager (I don't think). Or have you started using the manager now but the mods aren't showing up? I am unclear as to what your problem is, and think others may be in the same situation. A clear explanation of your issue with as many details as possible always helps you get better advice/solutions. -
The DVD should install most of the game (the base game) then you do have to download all the updates and a couple other files and register it with steam, but the d/l should be much smaller.

Don't have Dawnguard, but I would think that it would work fine with those types of mods. If you have any mods that change game mechanics (combat, leveling, npcs, etc) you might have issues. Texture, graphics, UI, and even weapon/armor mods don't usually conflict with much. But like I said I don't have Dawnguard. I've seen threads with people having mod problems and people playing fine with over a hundred mods.

There was all ready a thread about this that dragged on for far too long. Please not another one. Go look through past threads and you'll find one with tons of replies repeating the same thing over and over. Please not again.

Well look at the mod page here on the nexus, it tells you what to delete (look under "uninstalling skyrim online"). Or just read xlcr's post in your other thread because he covered exactly how to do it. I don't know why you started a new thread after getting good instructions on your previous one.

Weapon leveling based on character level
thompsonar replied to dragonslayer2k12's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I think you're talking about quite a change in game mechanics. Smithing changes the stats for the weapon but damage is still affected by the level of the governing skill (one handed, two handed, etc). It wouldn't make sense for a follower with 35 in one handed to do as much damage as you who has 90-100 (or whatever). Seems like you just need to get your follower some experience, or get a follower mod that lets you toy with their stats, or download a mod that adds high level followers. I'd go browse the combat overhaul mods and/or the companion mods to see if there's anything that looks interesting to you. In any event your smithing the weapon does make the follower do more damage than if it wasn't improved, even if it's not as much as you want. -
Have you looked at the uninstall instructions on the mod page or the web site for the mod? That's what I would do.

skyrim invisibility spell vs invisibility potion
thompsonar replied to ohDoiMust's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You'll certainly be able to raise alchemy a lot faster than illusion. I don't think there's a difference between the potions and the spell, invisibility is just invisibility. You may actually be able to get longer durations out of potions but I've never really used them much so I don't know for sure. edit: You'll also be able to make the potions early in to raising alchemy and you have to wait to get the spell until illusion is high... can't remember exactly what level you need but it's something like 60-75 in illusion before you can buy the spell. -
I don't know of a mod that does exactly what you want. Have you looked through the mercantile category in the files section? There are some mods that add new weapons and armor to the merchant lists but I'd bet they're still leveled. You seem to be looking for something that "unlevels" the merchant inventory list. I don't know if this has been done. You can look at the mod "Unlevelled World" but that removes all leveling in the game (for spawns and enemies i mean) so that may do more than you want, and it may not even touch the merchants, I'm not sure.' Edit: added link to mod and can confirm it does what you want with the merchants, but also much much more that you may not want. It's not modular either but talk with the mod author and maybe you can figure out how to do it yourself (if you can't find another mod that does what you want).
