TES V: what do you want to see?
ninja_lord666 replied to poopgoblin's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
AI? They (and all games ever) don't actually have AI; they have pseudo-AI. How much can you expect from that? I will say, however, that Oblivion has some of the best pseudo-AI I've ever seen despite its shortcomings. Now if Bethesda actually created AI...well...they won't bother with TES V anyways! :D -
That's because the Xivilai are a higher level daedra than the dremora. In fact, the Xivilai are one of the highest level monsters in the game.
-
Xivilai.
-
The most annoying monster is definitely the cliff racer. There are no cliff racers in Oblivion, you say? Well there's a guy who sings about them; that's good enough for me! :D

The Imperial City covers 10 cells, while Vivec covers 15 cells, so, yes. -
TES V: what do you want to see?
ninja_lord666 replied to poopgoblin's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
Actually, Cyrodiil is [possibly] the largest province: Link. One would need exact numbers to determine whether or not Cyrodiil is larger than the whole of Morrowind. Also, there are nine provinces, not five. -
The best way to know the Legion is to be the Legion. Buy Morrowind; join the Legion!
-
That was the hatted man who said you couldn't do it...
-
Link It's best if the leader know a little bit of everything, not expert knowledge, but the basics. If you're just going to ignore everything and let everyone else do the real work, it will fail, and story development is not real work. The mod will continue just as well without a "story teller." Don't expect that you're the only one who can make stuff up.
-
Even I told them to stop and just work on the mod. Attacking me gets nowhere. It's obvious I won't stop, like right now. Your refusal to stop your pathetic attacks do nothing but harm yourselves. As man_in_the_hat stated, you're only making yourselves look bad. Someone with my kind of personality is used to people flaming me. So, how about you just shut up and work on that mod of yours. Edit: @ cyronarxes: Very poetic. ;)

TES V: what do you want to see?

That is probably your hardware and not Oblivion's software. Your system probably doesn't, or just barely, meets the minimum requirements, and, therefore, can't handle Oblivion very well. OR, you just downloaded some really buggy mods. -
That shows your complete and total ignorance. Any mod that can be imagined can not be made, some can, but not even close to all. A modder can only mod within the limits of the game's engine. If the engine won't allow it, it can't be done. And I'll be here laughing when you inevitably fail. EDIT by LHammonds (File Admin): Both of you need to pipe down. Many things are possible with enough creative and talented effort...even things previously thought impossible (including the devs). Portrait Painter, OBSE, Akatosh Mount and horse combat in Deadly Reflex to name a few.

No of course not, but if you happened to actually read the link I posted, then you'll know this'll never happen. The first team that tried this was an actual team, with actual goals, was far more organized, yet they failed. If this attempt is inferior to that attempt, then it's only logical this attempt will fail, too. However, I'm going to actually have to change my mind; this won't fail. There'd have to be something there for it to fail. A request can't fail, only an attempt can, and I guarantee you that no one is going to attempt this. ** SNIP ** EDIT by LHammonds (File Admin): Personal attacks removed. Keep it civil.

Any content from any games cannot be added to other games as there is no way of ensuring the one downloading the plug-in has already bought that content. As for the mod itself, never going to happen. Someone already tried an Imperial Legion mod, and it failed miserably. Granted they didn't follow the basic guidelines, but it still failed. If you want to look at the previously stated guidelines, they can be found here.

TES V: what do you want to see?
ninja_lord666 replied to poopgoblin's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
Oooh, now there's some fun, sitting around, doing nothing for hours! Maybe I can watch a movie while I'm in 'playing'! -
Nah, the game sucks. Even M'aiq agrees: "People always enjoy a good fable. M'aiq has yet to find one, though. Perhaps one day."
-
You don't need a mod for Fable-like "marriage." Just walk up to a woman, bribe her, then go to your house, open up the console, type player.placeatme <ID of said NPC>, hit enter, then select said NPC to target her, type tai, hit enter again, close the console, then go find the original (placeatme creates a clone), and kill her. It'll accomplish the same thing...essentially.

That's why I was looking forward to Fable. Too bad it sucked, though... -

Ultimately, you'll always roleplay the same thing. It doesn't matter how many different guilds there are, you'll still be the same person as everyone else. Just look at Morrowind. That game had more guilds, and more choices, but you were still the Nerevarine. It doesn't matter if you were also in the Imperial Legion, or the Thieves Guild; you were still the Nerevarine. That's exactly how it'll be in TES V. -

11. While it's possible to kill someone with anything, do you really want to go up against an ogre with a stick? Sure you could stick it in his eye and shove it into his brain, but, personally, I'd rather fight him with a sword, a very long, pointy sword, wouldn't you? 15. The thing about rpgs, is they not suppose to emulate real life. Dungeons are to rpgs as a foundation is to a building. You can build a building with no foundation, but when bad weather comes, you'd better be prepared to get a new house. 22. Basically the same as 15, rpgs don't actually emulate real life. In rpg games, you don't get to do whatever you want; that's not even what role playing is. When you role play, you don't do what you want; you pretend you're someone else and do what that person would do. In Oblivion, you aren't playing yourself in a new place; you're playing the Champion of Cyrodiil, and the Champion of Cyrodiil wouldn't join the Daedra. 29 & 30. Did you even read into the meaning of that quote or skim over it? In Oblivion, if you fall of a ledge that's just a little too high, your horse dies. Now if your horse can't even handle that, image what would happen if you charged right into battle on it? Even if you were only fighting one or two bandits, you'd need a new horse. 36. <See 15 & 22> Oblivion has you role playing as a monster slayer, not some sissy gardener. 39 & 40. Imagine that! The city that has the highest trade of illegal narcotics doesn't have a building with a great big sign saying, "Come here guards! We're doing something illegal!" If you have any common sense, you'd know that people who sell illegal products don't want to advertise their location. In fact, it's only a matter of time before the guards find the Skooma Den in Bravil and shut it down. Edit: Oblivion has one of the best physics engines I've ever seen, and still you're not satisfied. You won't settle for less than perfect, will you, you spoiled brat? -

1. This makes no sense. Why would a gang of bandits or evil necromancers not attack on sight? 2. The Dark Brotherhood doesn't work that way. Other people hire them to assassinate someone; they don't decide who they want to kill. 3. The AI isn't complex enough to do that, and it's a stupid idea anyways. 4. That would be nice, actually, but the engine can't handle it. 5. You mean islands? Um...no comment. 6. That would be nice, if there's enough water, that is. 7. Pirates, yes; vampire pirates, huh? 8. There are diseases in the game; it's just not very easy to catch one... 9. There's a mod that does just this. 10. There are ladders in the game, moron. 11. Why? You have much better real weapons already. I'd rather use a Daedric Longsword over a stick, personally. 12. That would mean double the weapon meshes. Bethesda wouldn't do that. 13. Vampires don't have claws... 14. There are things like that, just not in Cyrodiil. Also, in TES, pharaohs don't exist! 15. That would be completely useless. Go dungeon delving if you want some cash. Also, that would be nigh impossible to do. 16. No comment. 17. That's up to Bethesda. I don't remember the reason they didn't put them in Oblivion, though... 18. There are different seasons, and Tamriel doesn't really have holidays. You can't just add in random crap that goes against the lore. 19. "M'aiq believes the children are our future. But he doesn't want them ruining all of our fun." ~ M'aiq 20. Stalkers? You really want to add NPCs who do nothing else than follow around people with bad intents? You are a sick, sick freak. 21. There are vampire slayers. In fact, there's a whole guild of them! 22. They tired multiple endings in Daggerfall...It was a train wreck. 23. Why would a well defended, unified Empire have it's cities attacked? 24. <See 23> 25. People do gossip about the player. 26. You could in Morrowind... 27. It's called Nord, moron. 28. Pointless. 29. "I do not wish to fight on horseback. It is a good way to ruin a perfectly good horse... which is, to say, a perfectly good dinner." ~ M'aiq 30. <See 29> 31. There is no such thing as king of the Imperial City. 32. ...How the hell is someone supposed to kill an immortal god-like creature to even become the ruler of Oblivion? 33. Oblivion has almost perfect lip sync, and you want more? It's can't get much better! 34. Dragons go against TES lore. There is only one dragon left alive, and he's in Akavir. 35. <See 34> 36. Why give up your successful career killing monsters to grow plants!? 37. <See 36 with a slight change of words> 38. <See 36 with a slight change of words> 39. Why? The only thing good about skooma is it's price, and even that isn't nearly as good as it was in Morrowind. 40. <See 39> That would instantly give the game an M rating, and Bethesda doesn't want that. In fact, Oblivion was the first game to get an M rating, and Bethesda didn't even cause that on purpose. -
I wonder how badly Jackson will butcher this one...

500 things you have learned in Oblivion
ninja_lord666 replied to scarhunter92's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
I think not, on the way to 500, people were continuously copying previous posts, so if we try to go to 1000, we'll just simply be typing the same 500 all over again.
