  1. In response to post #24580689. PM me if you need free voice actors. Both my wife and I enjoy contributing our voices to free mods and have done so many times.
  2. Note to staff: This is not condoning, advocating, or promoting what I mention in any way, merely pointing out the flaw in the system. This whole idea only serves to create a new form of piracy. Folks will buy mods, change the names of assets/plugins, and then get the refund that Steam allows them within 24 hours. At that point, the individual's scruples can dictate whether or not they redistribute said files to everyone they know or not. As far as I'm concerned it's business as usual for me and I expect little to change. Economics dictates prices and, in a world where some folks complain about buying ultimate editions of a game for five bucks on sale, I don't think there will be much demand for paid mods. The folks that can pay for them will if they want to. I've spent the last two hours in Steam IM's about how this is going to ruin modding like it did for The Sims. I can't argue that as I wasn't around for that, but unless a game prohibits or makes it difficult for third party addons, user generated content, whatever you want to call it and furthermore referred to as "mods", it will happen and people will do it for fun. Where there is a will, there's a way and the fact that we have sections here at the Nexus for games that were never intended to be modded proves that.
  3. Could the "remove all" button be relocated to somewhere not so near where the X for dismissing a notification appears? When the Nexus is having slow moments or responding sluggishly, notifications don't dismiss instantly and one never knows at what second they'll actually poof or if the X needs to be pressed again. If the message removes at/near the same instant one presses the X, sometimes it activates the "remove all" button instead and of course there's no way to recover the lost notices.
  4. It's your game, but it's Someguy's mod to add requirements to or not. At the very least it will most likely require someguyseries.esm as Flamenx01 has said.
  5. I can only imagine, sorry I can't be of any help. I've recently stumbled across something kindasorta similar in that when I'm recording gameplay for some games my page file or buffer seems to lock up or freeze and my game and recording both become a slideshow. The instant I stop recording it's fine again. It's not a GPU issue as it records just fine for the first two minutes or so, but then BAM, just like when you hit the trigger.
  6. That's a new one on me, sorry Dave. Almost sounds like some weird kind of stutter. Are you using a controller or wireless mouse?
  7. In response to post #23602849. #23748509, #23749129, #23750109, #23835629, #23957149, #23983489 are all replies on the same post. Yep. In this case that's the licence holder, not the modder. That means the developers will have to be picky about what they accept.
  8. In response to post #23602849. #23748509 is also a reply to the same post. Thanks. ...and the funny thing is that's the biggest issue most modders deal with on a daily basis. Leveled lists, navmeshes, body type mismatch, cosmetic changes, preference of colors, or just localization - it's all mod conflict and it's in constant flux with new mods coming into existence all the time.
  9. The place I foresee the most trouble with all of this is the intersection of paid mods, free mods, and conflicts. Some of the most flashy and "impressive" mods are overhauls that drastically change vanilla assets and/or restructure the way in game scripts or lists behave. Folks may buy and enjoy them greatly until they try to run it with another mod and hit a conflict. [i apologize for the generalization, and if this does not apply to you, you are not part of my target audience] We've already got folks begging for patches between mods X, Y, and Z, with support for four different body types. I envision this becoming an explosive issue once someone discovers their paid content is not compatible with another piece of their paid content. Who are they going to demand a refund from? Who is the onus on to create compatibility patches in a paid environment? Depending on the answers to those questions, it might not be enough to simply create an amazing mod that changes the world and then sit back and let your commercial mod go IF there is an obligation to continue to support it as long as it remains commercially available, up to and including supporting integration with any other mods, body types, or formats. [again, apologies for folks this does not apply to] We know how demanding mod users can be when it comes to support for issues pertaining to their personal hardware or load orders. Will paid content advance the attitude of entitlement? I could actually support that idea when it comes to paid content. Could that possibly give hobby modders like us more "power" when stating that our mods are free and to be used at the user's own risk and responsible for their own support? I think it's rather telling that so far the only games to have these options available are those that accept [only] simple skins and model injections. It's a lot like Minecraft on console, one can buy DLC that PC users have access to many versions or alternatives of for free. Ah... perhaps that's the key right there. If this concept is more or less limited to console-style games and ports I don't see much changing around here or anywhere that affects PC modders for the most part. If it's limited to things that are more or less micro-transaction material I don't see much of anything changing at all. Edit: Also, as these "commercial mods" would be endorsed by the developers, they would need to be 100% lore friendly. After reading all the previous posts nobody has mentioned that yet. One potential way to "protect" a modder's assets from showing up stolen in paid content would be to make them incompatible with the game's lore. Far from an optimal solution, but it's there.
  10. Did you read the description? The phrases "made for myself" and "I can't/won't be sharing" would need to be tackled before you ask Someguy if it could be included. Then Drag's sticky says this: I don't enjoy being a jerk, but you force me to... Did you even bother reading any of that?
  11. Thanks for letting us know what had happened and for reacting so quickly.
  12. Those are indeed awesome song references and, of course, now I'm just that much more teased about it all. I already know the answer but would be disappointed with myself if I didn't make the offer anyway; should you ever feel like subcontracting the writing for some wasteland romance arcs just give a holler.
  13. I was literal when I said "resource". I was thinking of using the worldspace and cells to potentially represent Arizona, New Mexico, and Southern California as needed for "sets" for my story; as you know, my protagonist has business in those areas in the past and future. Anything you would be willing to share is that much less I'd need to fabricate on my own and some of the locations you've shown off had me drooling from the get go. I'd love to put them to use instead of knowing that nothing may ever be done with them. If I did develop anything release-worthy out of it I'd be more than happy to share, but my plans/intent was to create something more like movie sets as needed in different locations. On that note, if anybody has sets for New Reno, Vault City, Klamath, Modoc, Sac-Town [sacramento], San Fran...
  14. Since FBZ has come up again... Could you, would you at some point possibly release the worldspace [and possibly cells] created and developed for FBZ as a potentially playable resource?
  15. I voted for restricted because I have total faith in you. Having said that, I think the devs did ok with Lonesome Road in giving the player complete freedom but the story held me in that "final showdown" send mentioned above that I didn't want to go anywhere. I couldn't, because I just HAD to get my resolution. It didn't matter my character had a broken leg and food poisoning thanks to IMCN, I NEEDED to see it to the end. I know you can do that to me too because you've done it before.
  16. Gave 'er a test run by adding a video and it seems to be working just fine. Suggestion: add a "tuturial" or similar category. Thanks so much for adding this feature! Will we receive notification of comments on our videos like we do on our mods?
  17. Nice! I'm more likely to try modding State of Decay now.
  18. This might work for you, but there's a few mitigating circumstances in this particular situation. SD has specified he's running an HD78XX GPU which means no access to the NVidia Control Panel. Additionally, ATI cards just don't seem to work with the wrapper on Win 8.X (he hasn't confirmed what his OS is, though), it's documented. There was a driver update in December or earlier this month, it may work now; I haven't checked because it's easier to just go with what is known to work at the moment. Midhras states with certainty that it can be done if configured properly or something; I'm not a genius, but I'm not a complete idiot either and haven't been able to get it. 0.173 does seem to be the most recent binary that will actually run on an ATI card (I run 0.161 myself), maybe for the same reason you're mentioning that it supports driver AA/AF. If I find the time and inclination to try the wrapper with the latest driver I'll report back if I learn anything new.
  19. Awesomeness, glad to hear it! I know when running ENB, receiving Steam IM's can also interfere with the overlay so I went into Steam settings and changed IM notifications to sound only (disabling the in-game popups), but if it's worse than that you can also set the Steam overlay to not run during games.
  20. You don't specify so I'm asking... Are you running NVSE or a 4GB enabler? Also what OS are you running? I'm running on an HD7850 myself on Win 8.1 and have never been able to get ENB later than 0.173 to actually run and I'm forced to use the injector on top of that. What you describe sounds consistent with memory issues, which is why I ask about the 4GB enabler; that and a fake fullscreen utility like Game Companion have made my game amazingly stable and reliable. Looking at your load order, some of the pose mods you have active might not need to be as they're reporoduced in Groovatron as well. I'm pretty sure Backsteppo Poses, Face Aches, A Few Poses More, and your pose mod (at least the one that's posted) are activated by TheGroovatronNV.esp so running all of those might be redundant; I don't see anything in your load order that would likely cause a conflict in The Prospector. Good luck with this! If you need me to link to Game Companion or get 4GB running with NVSE and that at the same time, just hit me up.
  21. Thanks so much for the update. Most things are easier to wade through with a reminder of the light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks to all the Nexus staff for gracefully putting up with the crap we dish out at them every day.
  22. No judgments here, man. Everything you've delivered has been beyond the proverbial "you get what you pay for" standard, so any complaints don't have a leg to stand on. The only mistake to be made from any of this is regretting any of it for even a second. If you enjoyed it, that's all there is to it. It's been a privilege and a pleasure to stand at your side or in your shadow for all of your projects I've been involved in with acting or testing and there's always a spot for you here if you want to come back. Thank you, sir, for the mods you've delivered in any state. I've enjoyed them immensely as they've added to my game. Mrs. 231 also asks that I thank you again for the all the fun she had giving voice to Miss Kat; the voice acting she's done lately has allowed us to talk about Fallout with many productive conversations we would not have otherwise had so we're grateful to you for that also. I know that you don't often frequent the imageshare, so you'll just have to take my word for it that NVB I and II have featured in many stories and fanfictions. Many folks confuse them with vanilla material because of how smoothly and seemlessly they fit into the game. You've given A LOT to the game and to this community. Wherever, whatever is next for you, I look forward to it. Thanks again!
  23. The very first line of the very first post in this thread tells you what you need to know.
  24. Holy s*** man! In all the correspondence we've had about this mod I never could appreciate the scope of "just" that one location as I do now after seeing it all spread out like that. I had something more like a Thermopylae cliffside in mind, but noooooo! I absolutely love the feeling of being so very lost while watching you navigate the world space and realizing that there will be a learning curve to the area just in figuring out where you are and where you want to be. ...then seeing the quest "The Rooster" pop up and having more than a good idea of what that is scares the living daylights out of me when considering the sheer volume of space involved. I'm already intimidated. Then you had to go and mention Bullhead City, which you know ties into my fiction. Even if I've stopped the story by the time you release the mod I'll have to dust it off and visit Zulu with that character just to dig up the ghost of her innocence on the way. I absolutely love the developer diary approach and the video in general. As I said in the beginning, it gives a much better feel for perspective than I'd previously had. I know you've got things in hand, but the gesture must be made... If there's any way to be of service, just say so. Barring unforeseen life events, you've got a pair of voices at your disposal when that time comes too. Thanks for the video and best wishes in your endeavor, my friend.
