  1. Oh my, this sounds exciting! I have to figure out if letting Russell and Ramona run wild in the Mojave together would be a good idea or if I should start a new game for him. I could easily see them becoming roving caravan pirates and living like royalty, but despite being together leading a lonely, tortured existence.
  2. Laptop GPU fried, out of action/under the radar for an estimated week or so.
  3. It requires another mod as a master, but here is the Jessup companion mod someone has already made. Found by searching "Jessup" in basic search.
  4. Search the files for Groovatron. It will require some work on your part to set it up, but it dows what you ask and more.
  5. So many projects I need to finish.
  6. I'm not sure if you can add reference images ex post facto, but perhaps some images of what you're ideally looking for might help.
  7. I think I see what you're getting at. I did use the word "same" as I was quoting a previous poster. I do apologize for having turned this more into a debate than the mod request it was intended to be. I'm thinking the confusion sets in when we have two different conventions or schools of thought. When comparing an M-16 to an M-16A2 or other variant, it is considered the same gun even though they have different parts that are not interchangeable. An M-16A1, and M-16A2, and an M-16A3 are not the same gun, but they ARE all M-16's. When regarding these AK weapons, it seems that the school of thought is different (an AK-74 is an AK-74, but an AK-74M is NOT an AK-74) - which is fine. I think We're dealing with two different standards (east meets west) and terms are not always interchangeable. I sincerely appreciate all involved taking the time to explain the differences in a way I was eventually able to comprehend. I strive for accuracy and appreciate your patience in detailing what I was not comprehending. I hope that I was also able to illustrate my own perspective with as much respect and consideration; I know that I have had trouble with that in the past.
  8. They're variants of the parent model according to this article. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AK-74 Wikipedia isn't an authority, of course, and can be opinion driven, but if something is downright wrong it's usually challenged and removed. Can you provide any actual references to support what you are saying?
  9. I wouldn't mind seeing items with a Paiute flavor in the game at all. Though the only birds I've seen in game are ravens, I'd sill like to see feathered hats too, especially if they work well without replacing hair.
  10. I think what Gribble is saying is that regardless of the attachments, an M4 is still and M4, regardless of what stock, sight, grip, or tactical attachments it has. The name may be a variant, but it is still an M4. The question it forces is why is it such a big deal to be nitpicky over the same concept when it's an AK weapon? A an AK74 is an AK74. An AK74U is still an AK74. An AK74M is still an AK74 just like you can have different variants of the same automobile or PC. The difference may be a big deal to you but not everyone is required to agree. "Different models of the same gun" same gun is same gun.
  11. I think that's what they were going for with the Stormchaser Hat http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110406005713/fallout/images/thumb/7/7b/Stormchaser_Hat.png/416px-Stormchaser_Hat.png
  12. Search New Vegas Nexus for "AK-74" and Fallout 3 Nexus for "AK74", they're out there.
  13. If the mod becomes reality I'd be more than happy to put out a .40S&W version with 12 round mags too. In her entire collection, my wife's favorite gun is her "Baby Eagle".
  14. What I can do is make a simple esp to put a respawning box in Doc Mitchells that would contain a few balaclavas for you, but since I don't own the assets and don't want to wait for responses you'll have to download the mod pointed to earlier; you can delete the esp that comes with it and run the one I'll put up on my MediaFire for you temporarily. When you do have the time to learn and explore you can go about deleting extra assets if you want/need to. Putting it together will only take a few minutes, but I have some commitments tonight to tend to so it might not be up until sometime tomorrow. Would that work out better for you?
  15. If you're wanting to promote your voice, perhaps you could make a few recordings and make them available for modders to hear, sort of like a pre-audition. If they like what they hear, they can contact you. A good way to approach it would be to get a list of common NPC dialog lines and make your own sort of "replacer" NPC dialog and put it up as a modder's resource. Not only would that be a legitimate mod, but again, give you exposure to anyone who would hear it. Make sure to mention in the description you're available to read custom dialog and you should be good to go. Edit: corrected the way my formatting was messed up by forums.
  16. If you feel that strongly about it, simply download the mod, copy the entry for the balaclava into a new mod of your own and delete all the assets except those for the balaclavas. I get that you're new and possibly unskilled in modding as of yet; learning to do this for yourself will empower you to take control of your own game. In all seriousness and honesty, trimming away from an existing mod like this is one of the simplest things you can do and an awesome first step in learning how to mod. 99% of the time I would even offer to walk you through it with step by step directions, but the tone of your messages has seriously put me off. Someone was kind enough to point you to exactly what you asked for and instead of "thank you" your response was prety much "that's not good enough. Somebody do it for me." Then you went on about "freaking built in attachments" when, again, you are more or less at the mercy of what people who might be inclined to help you are willing to do. When you speak like that about things it is very unlikely that someone will be willing to spend the time it takes to produce what you want for fear of being treated like that. Good luck, with your balaclava.
  17. First request, many apologies if I do this wrong. Could/would someone be able to modify the Gunrunners boxes to put out models (in varying sizes) of display boxes? In other words, turn things like the weapon mod world object boxes into rifle cases in varying sizes so that they could be placed in world, open at 90ish degrees with a sort of "egg foam" interior texture so that a weapon could be stood up or laid inside it for display? I'm not asking for, but it would also be potentially cool to see versions that could be carried on the back or in either hand for roleplay and photostory purposes. Another cool offshoot would be a violin case. This could be released as a standalone mod or a modder's resource so that they could be built into player homes for display or at a weapons merchant's counter showing off statics. Even novice modders should be able to go into the GECK and, after placing a case like this, place a static or even world model inside it; as long as it remains undisturbed it would remain intact as a display item. Thank in advance if anyone can make this happen. I currently have no asset-related skills, but am more than willing to do tedious FNVEdit work making entries or help out in any way I can.
  18. Congratulations on your new arrival! A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for. -- unknown
  19. Years of hoarding kudos and they're all gone now! lol
  20. Yes, but once you overcome that learning curve you empower yourself to control the world you play in. As much as I hate to say it, the best way to learn is to practice repeatedly. Some folks do learn better by witnessing demonstrations and there are some very good videos on YouTube for a lot of the simpler stuff, just search for "GECK". In all honesty, once you decide that the GECK/FNVEdit doesn't scare you and you are in the driver's seat the sky is the limit. I wish I'd realized that years ago.
  21. The answer to those are really dependent on the mods that you use and how they install as to how easy it would be to change your mind. Your Nexus age leads me to think you likely know what a mod manager is and how one works, but just in case... If you use a manager like FOMM (I'll assume NMM operates similarly but have not used it) you can activate mods with it. If you activate a mod that would overwrite it, you will be prompted just like in your OS, to allow it or not. A good mod manager will actually track the overwritten file(s) so that if you uninstall the later mod it will revert to the previous files. This is not the exact question you asked, but is important in answering it. For some type 3 skins, you will need to install a body first, then activate your custom skin on top of it as I just described. Not all type 3 mods will include bodies with them. With Breeze most of the options are all in the same installer package which has a nice FOMOD (I think there is a separate NMM friendly FOMOD, even!) that allows you to choose when you install... As the Breeze options aren't overwriting, but an either/or situation you can choose in uninstall then reinstall if you don't know which files to extract from the archive or where to put them. When uninstalling and reinstalling, though, you will want to make sure to note where in your load order any esp's and esm's were as you may need to reposition them again. You would also lose any changes made to the stock files, so if you ever want to make corrections or modifications to a mod you may reinstall later you will want things like merges to be in a separate file. If any of this is too confusing, just say so. You Nexus age gives the impression that much of this may be a refresher for you, but your post count suggests you might not be as familiar as your age would suggest.
  22. The Sortomatic mod has hacked the workbench to do exactly that, and even allows you to set it to look at multiple containers. It's even set as a modder's resource if you want to borrow from it and distribute.
  23. I may be in a minority, but I do not use NMM. The utility I use has worked as long as I've played and continues to do exactly what I ask of it so I see no reason to change. Use NMM or not is a choice, yes, but would come across like Microsoft making Windows work better only if the user uses Internet Explorer. What I would propose, which of course adds more work all around, but I think it would work out better for everyone in the long run and kill two birds with one stone is this: Add an extra field to the tracking screen for whether or not a mod has been endorsed/abstained much like you would see an Ebay listing you have yet to post feedback for. Whether or not automatically adding a mod to a user's tracking list would be optional - I have no opinion on that to share. At the same time, the option to stop tracking a mod could be added to the tracking page instead of a separate removal page. In all honesty I hardly notice the ads on the Nexus, though some do catch my eye from time to time. I've been socking aside some funds to purchase a lifetime membership myself and don't care if the ads remain once I've purchased it. Is there an option for premium members to keep ads enabled to help with these ppm ads after contributing? As always, thanks for the Nexus and ALL who make it the awesome community that it is. A community I'm proud to consider myself a part of. Edit: Heh, ninja'd on all my points. I hear ya, Rez, without the ads I'd have nothing to talk to the kids about.
  24. Some of the WiP shots he's been posting in the imageshare are amazing!
