  1. I'll begin with suggesting you should first look for support wherever you got the mod from - It was certainly not on the Nexus. If I recall correctly, that mod (and its author) have been specifically banned from the Nexus. With that in mind, I'm not even sure if responding would be a good idea, but I think saying the following may be safe... CASE relies on a supplementary plugin called Leveled List Organizer (LLO) for distribution of ammunition. You can get LLO from the CASE page. Given the age of the file you're trying to work with, I would suggest that you use the pre modfusion version of CASE and LLO available from the CASE page. If all else fails you can make dummy files for the required masters and open it up in GECK/FNVEdit and fix any invalid references then strip the dependencies and have a loadable mod.
  2. Indeed, just sating "+1" is not sufficient. Thank you for all you do and for keeping us informed. It proves you see us as fellow stakeholders and not just statistics, not that there was any doubt.
  3. Would you like a similar copy/paste-able version for NVB II as well, chief? Just let me know how comprehensive you'd want it to be if you do.
  4. Not literally, it's a separate or parallel story. To quote someguy2000 from an earlier post: :)
  5. ...but Clarissa would have a lot to talk about with Bradley around. :)
  6. You're the boss, will you be satisfied with that? If you need "justification" call this release a "public beta" and anyone with excessive negativity can go jump in a lake. :)
  7. Values could/likely would be different in those times and situations though - As much as Cass talks about her family she never mentions anything about a wedding, the words "husband, wife, bride, or groom", and going by her dialog and endings they depict her as being kinda loose herself - If she's a reflection of her dad it would actually fit. There's so much we don't know about Cassidy that many feasible possibilities are out there.
  8. Ohter: I'm thinking she's related to the Lonesome Drifter, possibly they're long separated siblings. In other words, a vote for the Mysterious Stranger.
  9. It's pretty straightforward, it means that it's not finding GunRunnersArsenal.esm in your data folder. Do you have GRA installed? I was guessing that was the issue from the first description but thought it too obvious to mention. If you own GRA and it's not working I'm not sure what to say as you just did a fresh reinstall, right? For completeness' sake, the other required master aside from New Vegas itself is SomeguySeries.esm, all three of them are required to run The Inheritance at the moment. I've set aside tomorrow (later today) morning for some recording and screen shooting time, boss, any requests or priorities on what you want pics of?
  10. Thank you for the response, reading that makes it much easier to imagine the mountains of work and stress having such a process could create. With that in mind a smarter approach to the situation will be to update the mod itself first (esp and esm) as a stand alone update and release that, then re-bundle the distribution package. The added assets are merely "icing".
  11. I seriously doubt that, the questions I asked were a complete change of subject to a previous (and unrelated) conversation - What you describe would be rather rude. I could be misunderstanding what you're saying or perhaps I royally miscommunicated the situation. I describe a few separate events, some happening within a week and some happening over two years ago. The stuff from two years ago I mention to explain circumstances and give background on the situation, that matter is very much closed, yes. The way you say "You really need *not* pass this around" confuses the living daylights out of me, I have nothing to hide and have done nothing wrong as far as I know. To simply rephrase my main question, is there a way to voluntarily request assets be verified for legitimacy? Just because something hasn't been reported or brought to light does mean mean it's ok to assume all is well.
  12. Hello, I have a couple questions and they seem to belong here for lack of a better place to ask them as they deal with "questionable assets" and permission to edit works by other modders. I was handed responsibility for a mod while the original author dealt with personal issues and, after two years and no response to emails, I'm not sure he's coming back so I'm stepping up and taking responsibility for updating and upgrading it. The reason I needed to have access to the administrative functions of the mod in the first place was, at the time, due to the unwitting use of assets without permission of the REAL owner (someone who did not own them gave us permission to use their unauthorized edits of them and the true owner rightly claimed them, thus the the mod was closed). After being granted access I verified the cited assets. The first case was the legitimate property of the author who gave permission to use it - I verified by contacting the owner and they affirmed they owned the assets. I even posted a link to the author's mod using those assets to the moderator I was working with when I petitioned to have our mod reopened. The other assets I contacted the legitimate owner for and they also gave permission, but I felt (I could have been wrong) that they might have felt pressured or obliged to grant permission to make others happy so I replaced them with vanilla assets and stated that in my report. The mod was allowed to reopen. I sit poised to start work on a major update for the mod, but after a conversation with a moderator about assets and ownership (I made my first attempt at sharing screenshots which included material I was informed was ported and given the opportunity to gracefully remove the image, which I HUGELY appreciate!) I wanted to be safe and ensure that we weren't using any other textures, meshes, models, etc that we'd been given unlawful permission to use. I visited our credits and recognized some of the names as former members of the Nexus community who were since banned for asset theft or porting. I simply do not wish to to repeat the experience I had in years before of having the mod closed, it was (and still is to me as a member of the team responsible for the mod) embarrassing. Is there any way to voluntarily request a mod to audited for assets so I can smoothly and silently remove anything legally offensive when I roll out my update and avoid that kind of embarrassment again? I asked the question of the moderator I was conversing with, but after almost a week with no response I figure he has other matters to attend to and the potential for a bad situation exists until I know for sure. I hesitate to start work on something if it will be undone when it is finished, so I'm sitting on my hands doing nothing until I know for sure. Even if 100% of the "material" assets (models, meshes, textures, whatever) are found to be unlawful I will remove them and still go forward with an esm/esp update for the mod. The second part of the question is also regarding my intended update. The mod that I am responsible for was left to me by (let's call him) Modder A. Modder A gave Modder B permission to use part of our mod to establish as a community resource. When Modder B left the Nexus, ownership of that community resource (the main part of the mod that I will be changing) was handed to Modder A. Normally it wouldn't really matter, I could simply keep the updates on the "parent" mod page or even as a separate mod of my own, but the "child" mod, the one recognized as the community resource has an immensely larger following. Is there any way I could be given access to the "child" mod's file area and description so that I could update both and all users would have access to the same updated community resource? Modder B does include his own assets and assets which he was granted permission for (to the best of my knowledge, which is limited and the reason I'm posting in the first place!) use in that mod and I do NOT intend to touch them or distribute them - my update would only be to the esm and esp's of the mod to overwrite some of those in Modder B's archive. I can say with certainty that Modder B would be fine with it too, but I know that that means nothing unless it comes from his mouth/hands and, since he is no longer a member of the Nexus community, it cannot truly be verified. I ask these with the intent of total cooperation and coordination and thank all involved regardless of what any of the eventual answers might be. Thank you for your time and use of the facilities being offered to us as users, it's very much appreciated! Edit: Added an omitted word.
  13. This might sound funny, but there are times when the most obvious is overlooked... You ticked on the esm as well as the esp, right? I'll have recordings to you soon, chief, just waiting for some quiet time when the kids are at school so they won't be repeating what I say. :)
  14. This will be my third time "buying" Fallout also, but I'm getting things I didn't get before (and in convenient format) like the soundtrack, the avatars, the icons... The bonus material. Yes, you can get most of Mark Morgan's Fallout music and some of these digital assets free elsewhere, but as was already stated, this is more "legitimate" for those that want to be able to point to a time and place they bought it. The Fallout Bible in .PDF is a must for any Fallout lore/immersion purist (not saying I am one, though I admit I have my moments).
  15. Thank you, happy new year to all!
  16. I haven't been doing much lately myself, most of my time and energy has gone into making it from one day to the next.
  17. Sounds like the script for an episode of Full House or something. If you absolutely can't get anybody else I might be able to help out. You'd have to give me details on formats and specs for your files and all that happy stuff. Go ahead and put me at the bottom of your list for if you can't find anything else. :)
  18. Thanks, I'll have an update for V3 sometime tomorrow. Tonight is possible, but not likely.
  19. FOMODs work best with the Package Manager in FOMM, though in all honesty they are simply *.zip files with a fancy extension and a script that ensures things install to the right place.
  20. Unfortunately, I fall into the same category when it comes to quests. I can't script them, but I can easily break them for you and show you how I broke it. :) One thing you'll want to learn that many need to go back and teach themselves later is when it comes to dialog, don't let the GECK "trick" you into making all your dialog and conversation additions with a 00XXXXXX ID format - if you have to, go back with FNVEdit later and change the ID to match your mod. That has consistently been the biggest cause for conflict in mods across many categories.
  21. The plot sounds fun and some thought has obviously gone into this, but I would also suggest against using Mr. House as a hook. The Boomers or Followers could also make use of satellite tech and would likely pay dearly to acquire it or its use. I know that doesn't fall in line with your plans for the 38.... Perhaps they could get anxious enough to contact House and part of their payment to him for your services would be the resources for the improvements you have in mind? That still ties it all to House though. I don't know - I know my very first play through of the game I killed House before I even settled with Benny the first time I entered the Strip. It does sound like fun, though! I'm more than willing to help out if you need me for anything.
  22. Is experiance with FNVEdit sufficient instead of GECK experience? I've put in more hours caring for and updating a mod than I care to admit using FNVEdit. The only thing I use GECK for is putting in containers and I stink at that.
  23. Agreed, that's why I said "it could be argued" because any "official" ticket or report from Bethesda would simply say that instability is caused by mods and are used at your own risk etc. etc.
  24. Another person to ask is Someguy2000 who wrote New Vegas Bounties and New Vegas Bounties II (in alpha testing now). He certainly knows how to make encounters happen.
