  2. In response to post #24683029. #24683444 is also a reply to the same post. It's called "not seeing the forest for the trees" or "penny wise dollar foolish" or something like that.
  3. Money has always been made on mods. Steam has always made money because people have kept games alive with mods, therefore generating sales and revenue. Bethesda has reaped the exact same rewards. The nexus sells subscriptions and gets paid for advertising. What is their product? the mods made by people that they charge for those subscriptions or subject to that advertising. They are all corporations that exist to make a profit. No matter how nice and friendly they might seem at times it's the money that drives them and their decisions. The modders were the only ones that didn't profit in a material way, usually. I don't see anything wrong with them sharing in the money that is being made on their labor. The big companies don't want to share what they are already getting. They want more and they'll share a little of it if they get it. So now every one is getting mad and modders are still being used.
  4. I would make complete , fully navmeshed seperate versions that can be turned on or off with triggers or quest stages.
  5. I'm on a self promotion role here. Novac Public Library. http://www.nexusmods...as/mods/49695/? You'll get a couple very different houses that you'll have to work for. G.
  6. How about a little self promotion? If you are looking for a quest, try mine. Novac Public Library. http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/49695/? G.
  7. At the top of the nexus pages there is a tab called files. If you scroll over it and select catagories you will find what you are looking for. G. Novac Public Library http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/49695/?
  8. Also if a mod has a patch esp to make it work with another mod their relationship would make it so you will need to look closely at load order and requirements. G. Novac Public Library. http://www.nexusmods...
  9. Did you follow the seddon4494 tutorial? I have never seen the problem you describe. Have you created a quest to house the dialog that you are adding? I wish I could help but it is new to me.
  10. I would wait. See if you can get just a few people to test it. I would do it for you but I am very busy with my own project. G. Novac Public library http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/49695/?
  11. You are welcome. Good luck! Have fun, but don't expect it to be all fun. It is work. G. Novac Public Library. http://www.nexusmods...as/mods/49695/?
  12. It could also be that a mod has an esm and an esp. If you don't uncheck both it will cause crashes. G. Novac Public Library. http://www.nexusmods...
  13. A very helpful person named seddon4494 has quite a few tutorials on youtube that can help you. G. Novac Public Library. http://www.nexusmods...
  14. Try Stutter remover and 4gb aware mods. They might solve your problem. Just search for them. Also try not to start your conversation with something as negative as "Mods have ruined my experience". Since you are talking to modders and mod lovers you may alienate the very people that can help you. G. Novac Public Library http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/49695/?
  15. It sounds like a good idea. However, I don't think you realize how much work you are asking someone to do. I worked over 1000 hours to make my mod. If someone is going to do that much it will most likely be for their own idea. If you want it made I suggest that you start learning how to mod. Everyone has work and RL. It will take a good amount of time to learn and create the mod but when it is done you'll have something to be proud of. Once you start and show that you are really interested in completing it, you will find that the community here will be very helpful. G. 16. go to youtube and look for Seddon4494. That should get you what you want.
  17. Your work inspired me . I understand your frustration. A creative mind is a blessing and a curse. Good luck, the door is always open.

It seem that all authors are being lumped together as if they were one entity. The authors are individuals with unique personalities just like each user. They are human beings that have feelings and and wants and desires just like everyone else. The only difference is they made something and are willing to share it. Just like any time you want to benefit from something that someone else will share . You have to be nice and respectful to get it. The person sharing is not under obligation to share with anyone that offends them. This is no different. All this does is give the person sharing the option to decide not to share with someone that they find offensive without just "taking their ball and going home". This way nice people still get to play with it. I'm pretty sure that if you remember that the person who made the mod you are using is a person with feelings and you imagine that you are standing in front of them when you type at them, the interactions would all go differently. Edit - what I'm saying is, before you type it ask yourself if you would really say it face to face with someone. And would you say it in that manner? This goes bothways, heck it's just a good idea in general.
  19. In response to post #10324378. #10324482 is also a reply to the same post. In other words - they are people.
  20. I have been watching this go on for a while and commented a few times. I am wondering why there is an assumption that mod authors are megalomaniacs. Unjust power drunk egomaniacs that will ban people just for fun or "on a whim". I spent over a thousand hours on my mod and when I released it my heart was pounding because I was worried that people wouldn't like it. I only put myself through that so I could share it. I hope that no one ever puts me in the position where I would have to consider banning them from using it. That is exactly what I would not want. However, there are situations that could arise where I can envision myself not wanting to share 1000 hours of my work with someone that was rude or insulting. I don't need a moderator to intervene or decide. I am an intelligent, capable and fair minded individual who can decide for myself. I have been floating around the nexus for a while now and I have never met a mod author that has even remotely displayed the the tendencies that are being described as a sure result to these new changes. I have seen quite a few very rude comments to mod authors though. So rather than predict the ruin of the nexus why don't we all just wait and see. I have a feeling that these mod authors that have put their own time and effort in to making these mods that everyone gets for free aren't really so bad.

"Technically, choosing your clientele is illegal in about every decent countries of the world." Yes I agree. If someone is blocking people for reasons such as race or sex or hair color. But if someone comes in your shop and trashes it you are allowed to throw them out and not let them back in.

I believe however that the reason the mods are there in the first place is that the authors want to share them. Banning people who do not deserve it would be counter productive. Some people are very sensitive about their work and only want compliments and can be insulted very easily. But that still doesn't mean that they have to let people that they don't want to use their product. It's like if you come to my house I don't have to let you in. It might be my shortcoming or yours that causes the conflict but in the end I don't have to let you in. I would always like to have that right even if I am unreasonable in someone else's opinion. But I wouldn't presume to say you can't go into someone else's house.
