  1. You can open the console, click on the item and type markfordelete. Exit the cell and when you return, presto! No more ugly sacks (or table cloths in my case). Try to make absolutely certain you've got the right item. Make a save - because if you delete a floor or a wall you can't get it back... The other detail is: the stuff will refresh if you don't visit the cell at least once every 10 days.
  2. That actually sounds like you have Cloud Sync turned on. You can turn it off in the Steam settings under the Downloads + Cloud tab. No problems with Steam here.
  3. Hard to tell without knowing what mods you're running (you may want to post your mods - in a spoiler tag if it's a long list). Here's a guess though: Are you running the mod WATER by any chance? I've seen this happen if WATER isn't set properly in the load order (it should be last or close to last). Before you go uninstalling or messing with your uGrids, try running BOSS to sort your mods if you haven't. Hope that helps.
  4. It's a problem with the 1.8 patch. Disable autosave and don't attempt to save from the time you drink the Torpor until you leave Nightcaller Temple. After exiting the temple, saving should work normally. There are other tips on the UESP but I find it's easier just to avoid saving.
  5. This thread on the Steam forums may help: Unofficial Hearthfire Bugfix Thread.
  6. I think it may be a problem with Enhanced Lights and FX. I've seen it mentioned in the comments there and that the author is working on a fix.
  7. Can't uninstalling C++ break other software that relies on it?
  8. It will probably be released January 4th (30 days to the day) unannounced just like the other two. Just surprised it wasn't a bit earlier so they could take advantage of the holidays. Haven't picked that up yet. Thanks for the reminder :)
  9. Vampire Dragonborn can shout (and speak) which would imply that there is breathing going on, even if it isn't necessary for their survival (imho).
  10. Indeed. As is the idea that becoming the Guild Master suddenly spawns a bunch of morons who - for reasons only known to them - steal silver candlesticks in broad daylight so they can be slaughtered by the local townsfolk. I liked the Robin Hood feel of the Oblivion quests but enjoyed the Skyrim Thieves Guild quests, too - until those fellows started showing up everywhere. Kind of embarrassing for my master thief PC, you know?
  11. One tip would be not to ignore the block tree entirely. Some perks are shield specific, but Shield Wall, Quick Reflexes, Power Bash, Deadly Bash and Disarming Bash all work very well with a Two-Handed weapon.
  12. Yes, load order is very important. Mods in the wrong order or mods that conflict can definitely cause crashes. I'd suggest you download and checkout BOSS, it's a utility that will help you sort the load order of your mods. It will also inform you if your mods are out of date or have possible conflicts or dirty edits. It's a good idea to read the suggestions the mod authors make in their readmes as to where the mod should go as well. The thread stickied at the top of this forum also has a lot of good tips for troubleshooting. Also, the 4bg patch is obsolete - provided Skyrim is fully updated through Steam - could cause you additional issues
  13. Why would someone do that???? That is indeed how the world ends ;) As far as the bears go - I kind of agree... but after watching (and ) a few times, the bear bellow just makes me laugh...
  14. Ah, but there is: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8579 They aren't agro or diseased or annoying like they were in Morrowind, (Lachdonin's description is perfect) but, thanks to Phitt, you can have a nicer version of them in Skyrim if you like.
  15. Someone was discussing modding a Courier style newspaper into Skyrim in the modding forums. Sounded like a great idea. It was nice running into mounted couriers in Oblivion and having editorial acknowledgment of your PC's exploits.
  16. Thanks for the heads-up on Sui Generis. It reminds me a great deal of Project Offset (small team, surprisingly advanced tech), except this time we can help instead of just watching the project get buried. The Kickstarter phenomenon is exciting indeed.
  17. Soul gems not stacking correctly has been a problem since the game's release. There's some talk about it here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim_talk:Soul_Gem#Stacking And a mod that offers a fix here: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/5312#content
  18. I loved Diablo I & II - but grinding to level and get loot doesn't constitute an RPG for me. There's no character development or role play involved really at all. (edit: I don't think you're wrong if you do think it's an RPG - but personally when I think of role playing, Diablo never comes to mind). That would make two of us. I have several Skyrim toons - all of them are different builds with different sets of perks and skills. Most importantly to me, they are unique characters who interact with the world in very different ways.
  19. Forgot to mention your level, Riprock
  20. Current character is level 29 and has about 13,000. I tend to spend a lot on trainers early in the game and bought Hjerim and Breezehome as well. She's earned 121,300. edited for under-estimation.
  21. I think Skyrim is around 5GB, not sure. I don't think Dragonborn will be anywhere near the size of Skyrim, though. They'll use as many original assets as they can. It does look like it has a bit more new stuff than Dawnguard, but DG was only 500 MB or so, wasn't it?
  22. Hard to know without a picture... but guessing you're just noticing the strange vanilla positioning of the bows and quivers. They sort of float off your character's back (to avoid clipping, I guess). There are some mods that make it look better - like this one: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/5711 Hope that helps.
  23. I miss feeling like Robin Hood when working for the Thieves Guild instead of just... well... thieving trash. Everything else has already been mentioned: spell creation, arms working in water, etc. I don't miss four variations of the same dungeon, Oblivion gate and cave over and over, though. Skyrim is a vast improvement in that regard.
  24. Um. Sorry. It's never asked me to download a manager. Didn't when I just tried it either - but I run script blockers.... edit: it offers one - but you don't have to use it to get the software. Anyway hope you find something that works for you.
