  1. I don't if this is the right place to ask but does anybody know where I can find a Ring of Barahir (Lord of the Rings) mod? Or does it really not exist?
  2. So, I'm making a quest very similar to Brand-Shei's about discovering his identity. So, I've got everything set up in the actual quest, even the compiled script. So, I need to make my dialogue start the quest so, I look at Brand-Shei's dialogue and find out something about a script needed it says: DialogueRiftenQuestScript RDQScript = GetOwningQuest() as DialogueRiftenQuestScriptRDQScript.pDia05 = 1 So, how do I do this, set as owning quest for my quest's dialogue?
  3. Thank you that help me with that part of the quest, the rest however is much like Brand She's quest just different quest givers and different notes and locations. Is it possible to add the script fragment you mentioned as well as one that raises NPC's relationship to friend/ally as I believe that is also necessary to get a follower to actually follow you, isn't it?
  4. I plan on creating a new quest that essential is like Brand Shei' but at the end allows the NPC to become a possible follower like Faendal/Sven. I have an idea to create a ship wreck, stuck a trunk in it,, and in that trunk have a note that explains Rune from the Thieves Guild's history based upon him being an Imperial according to the CK and this starts the quest to return to him with the info (OR talking to him when he says he'd be grateful for any information from the base game dialogue; both options start it also similar to Brand Shei's quest). When you return the note to Rune he thanks you, pays you with gold or an item not sure yet and becomes available as a follower like Faendal/Sven. I'm rather new to scripting, actually all I've done is change a few properties to get different results. What I want to know is can I use the Brand-shei quest script in the CK and simply change the properties or am I going to need to write a new one from scratch?
  5. Thats it, I know what happened now then. You sayign it was from installing the creation kit. I had trouble with a glitch and someone on reddit told me to delete those files. No wonder it didn't help. Now I can easily fix that problem. Thanks.
  6. But someone said I should have the sources from the game and all I have in that folder ARE from mods. So I don't know whats true there.
  7. How do I get the scripts source files? I know how to extract bas as I've done this with meshes and textures but I don't know where to get the scripts and sources from, please help.
  8. Yes, you'd think that but I have done just that (and I've got the routine down pat as I've made many custom merchants in the past and they all work perfectly with generic dialogue. However, Ysolda just doesn't. Thats true even when she inherits stalls and stuff though, from what I've read apparently it's a bug. I just want her to sell a few simple things like mountain flowers and maybe child's dolls. So, I thought I'd try adding a line for her specifically and I've got the line for the PC to appear and her to 'say' her line but no selling stuff from the trunk I made :( So, I'm a bit stuck there.
  9. well I've made a custom faction and chest and I'm trying to specifically add a line to Ysolda to sell it. I've got the lines I wrote to appear (unvoiced as I used a new dialogue and I'm waiting to get it working, but no barter menu. So far nothing seems to work, any advice?

  11. I'd like to create a relation between dunDarklightIllia (Illia) and the Player as Ally so as to not have to do it all the time on the console so she'll follow again. Problem is I don't see her name (dunDarklightIllia) when I go to create the relationship. Can someone help me make it?
  12. No. As long as it's templated all the required keywords should be present in the enchanted versions. You shouldn't in fact be able to edit them to be otherwise. Thank Iluvatar! I have a set of armor with about oh 7 different enchantments for each of the 4 pieces of the set so that would make a heck of a lot of Temper recipes to do as opposed to a simple 4 of the template.

  14. If I create a custom armor and a variety of enchanted versions templated off the original and I make the original armor upgradeable at an armor bench, do I need to make all the enchanted varieties upgradeable at the armor bench as well?
  15. I need some more help. I got that much working but it doesn't show up in the game. I want it to show up under smith perk tree, how do I do that?

  17. I'd like to make my own smithing perk that allows leather armor to be improved twice as much. I've looked at the other smithing perks but don't see how it distinguishes between what materials to improve twice as much, so I assume thei rmust be another step, can someone tell me what it is?
  18. I want to add a quest that when completed gives the player +1 Reputation with the NPC in question (returning an item to them). Problem is I don't know how to reward the player with the +1 Reputation, can someone please tell me how to do that?

First off in the small house the workbench did not appear so I asked my steward to furnish it but ran into some furniture not really there despite supposed to be, same thing happened in parts of the mail hall.   21. Then perhaps I can help you as I figured out the problem. I thought it seemed to be all stacking up as I saw items I sold previously (I know because they were upgraded) so I thought maybe somehow it went to personal inventory. Tried pick-pocketing but nothing there like that. So I figured maybe it was a problem with the chest somehow, so compared to a few vanilla chests and discovered something that was NOT covered in the tutorial I found: the 'Respawns' box wasn't clicked on mine while it was all vanilla merchant chests. I ticked it, saved, loaded game and problem solved.
  22. I created a custom merchant and gave her the leveled gold for blacksmith list. She started with 1,000 gold like normal then later after getting the 'Merchant' Speech perk I noticed she had exploded the bank to over 35,000 and when she buys stuff the money doesn't come to you. Any idea what happened and how to fix it?
