If I had a mod from someone else but they did something I didn't like in addition to things I like, such as remodeled a house and a huge change to a housecarl and I don't want the changes to the housecarl is it ok to simply delete the reference to the housecarl? Will they still appear and show up and work properly?
  2. I need someone to help me figure out whats going on. The mod at the bottom of the load order is supposed to be the one takes precedence over all others right? Reason I ask is I use Nexus Mod Manager and some mods including one I made to encompass a variety of things I do from a few armors to a few NPC changes. I've successfully changed weights of a number of items as well. However, some other changes I've made just won't take effect as if another mod is overriding them. Isn't that supposed to be impossible since my mod is on the bottom of the load order? For example, I changed the hair color of anise and yet it stays black when I take her robe. I changed Hulda's hair color and complexion and yet its the same. However I took off the dirt of Farkas and Vilkas and that took effect. I tried making a few of my favorite characters like Faendal essential - I clicked essential on him in the NPC actor as well as his quest and yet tests still showed him getting killed. Why the heck is it some of my changes take effect yet others just won't? What more do I need to do? Somebody please help!

  4. OK, I greatly appreciate the tutorial link and the info for where I can take a look if I get it wrong. When I can get a chance I'll look over the tutorial and see where I might have went wrong, or perhaps simply need to add. Then test it out and if I still have problems I'll definitely load up True Wolves of Skyrim in the ck and examine it. Again, I thank you.
  5. I started with the first method and got comfortable and have moved to a bit more complicated and the results are quite satisfactory. Thank you both.
  6. I've created an NPC based upon Dawnguard's husky to be an animal companion without having to be a member of any faction. However, upon adding him in-game theres no dialogue with him. Can somebody help me get him to follow you like Meeko without having him talk like a person I find that too annoying. At least point me to a tutorial that shows how to create an animal NPC that follows you or at least can be hired and that doesn't have a humanoid voice? I'd prefer not to have to deal with youtube as well I've had a lot of bad advice on all sorts of matters real and games from there so I'm highly skeptical of the people lie to try to get attention and fame (damn hollywood and its like for ever taking youtubers up to get it BEYOND just wanting net fame...) kinda stuff. Not to mention it's hard for me to hear sometimes and some people are too hard to understand and sometimes the video is so small you can't really see what the heck they are doing so I prefer good old fashioned typed text that I can see and understand. And please don't tell me just to download one,l I'd like to get it working as part of my own private mod at this point.

  8. Ah, thank you both. I'll give it a try and see what I come up with and how satisfied I am. Patience is sometimes rewarded, as I hoped. This sounds the simplest so I think I'll try it first. I appreciate the warning! Luckily, I know military time with the 24 hour format so its fairly easy to figure out its regular 12 hour equivalent, but again without a heads up its hard to determine which one a game uses - I've seen both (sometimes even in 1 game). This sounds a little more complicated so I figure I'll get comfortable with the first method and then later give this a try! Ah, thank you both, I'll give it a try.

  10. Yeah, it is sad people don't seem to want to help each other in this world anymore. Its a 'Do it yourself' attitude that prevails yet no one is willing to guide you to know how to do it yourself so how do you learn to?   11. I recently created myself a custom merchant NPC to sell special stuff I make. I placed her at Whiterun market near the well and Berethor's. Currently I use the package of 'DefaultServicesEditorLoc24x7' I'd like to make it so she stays outside during the day and goes into the Bannered Mare and does the usual stuff there (e.g. sit, move around, eat, drink, etc). Can somebody please help me on how to do that?
  12. Can someone please tell me what exactly is wrong with 'Werewolf Perks Expanded - Dawnguard' and is it still true? I mean this post is from 2013 but on the mod page it says 'Last updated at 21:20, 28 Oct 2016'. Any help, please?
  13. If I check 'Only Buys Stolen Goods' under the vendor tab of the factions, does that mean they won't buy anything BUT stolen goods, even if I've set up their inventory with other stuff and put Not Buy/Sell: VendorItemsMisc?
  14. Cannot start quest "Bloodlines" - Serana won't follow me and quest won't start, "Awakening" is completed I completed Awakening. Serana stepped out of her coffin and all that. I'm at the point where I can talk to Serana and my dialog does NOT say where do you need to go. I can ask her about her house and all but not that line, instead it says 'Come with me' after that her only dialog option is basically "come with me". She gives her sassy response "let's go" or whatever, and nothing happens. She does not follow. Her only dialog option is still "come with me" and she is not registered as my follower. The quest "Bloodlines" does not start.I have tried:Dismissing all followers.Resetting quest "Awakening" from the console and attempting to set it to various stages. No change results.Attempts to set the quest "Bloodline" to anything with console commands do nothing, the quest remains not running. No console commands seem to affect it at all.I can complete the Bloodlines quest through console commands, but it doesn't do anything either. Nobody in the world notices that it's complete. (i.e. using completequest)coc command to get into Castle Volkihar. Nobody responds to me inside.Force Serana to be my follower via console commands. She'll follow me and battle, but it doesn't progress any quests.Help? I just need the game to activate the Bloodlines quest and hopefully move on.I also just tried resetting the dimhollow crypt cells to see if I can get some scripts to run, but it just put the vampires back in there, it didn't reset the whole "get Serana out of her tomb" thing.... so no change there. So, no idea what else to do.

I attempt to add a new topic so I can link it to the main topic regarding 'I was told you'd have a weapon for me' and Eorlund asking what you'd like but as soon as I hit new topic I got a box saying 'Failure Must Press OK to confirm quest creation before adding topics.' What do I do now?

  18. Thank you all. How do I create the property like you said? And should I add something, unsure what exactly, related to the companions house keeping so it knows I've completed the part of the quest to get a weapon from Eorlund?
  19. I've done that. I just want it a bit more immersive. I know in Fallout 3 a similar thing was possible as I modded in a special armor and a companion and had him give it upon figuring out the code phrase. THats why I wondered if something similar was possible here. Anybody know one way or another?
  20. Say I've added a weapon like SkyforgeSteelMace and I want it to be an option to choose as a weapon from Eorlund. Do I need to simply add the dialogue and create a script to add to Eorlund's response or what and if so what should I add, this?: Game.GetPlayer().AddItem(SkyforgeSteelMace , 1, true)

  22. And if I prefer they be essential so I can't kill them either then it won't help. Thats why I want to know is what exactly it takes to make them essential as simply clicking Essential isn't it and some don't have radiant quests to use their aliases to make them essential. Maybe it's because my mod is at the bottom of the load order? Or could it be something else?

  24. I was modding a few favorite characters as essential and was able to via quest aliases for radiant quests Aela but others without quests I could find such as Faendal even though I hit essential he wasn't. What am I missing? What do I need to do.
