  1. Spriggans are cheating bitches; They have four Powers: summon Bear, Spriggan heal1, Spriggan Heal2 and Spriggan Heal3...
  2. How do these People get to this angle? I mean, this Reverend Guy brings up some Points that confuse me; Ok, he said that the realm of Oblivion is basically Hell. There is not much to deny there. But the Game tells us that this "Hell" is a bad Place. You don't want to end up there. The Player is encouraged to keep this "Hell" from conquering the World. Isn't that a good Thing? He also said that you could drink Alcohol in this Game. Right, but the Game shows you that Alcohol is bad for you. The Game tells you that Drug abuse (Skooma) is bad for you. Isn't that a good thing? I mean, if you really want to see this Video game as some means to get Propaganda into our Childrens Brains, isn't this the Kind of Propaganda the Christians would like to get in there?
  3. Unless this is a playercharacter, this Picture can not be taken in a normal unmodded Game. The Armor is in the normal Game, as is the Shield and the Sword. There are different Kinds of People that will try to give you a hard time when you run around in the Wilderness. Bandits wear light Armor and will, since all the enemies in the Game are scaled to the Level of the Player Character, sometimes wear the second best Light Armor in the Game. They will very rarely wear a full set of it and they don't use Swords. There are also "Marauders", which will have Swords, but they wear "heavy" Armor.
  4. Bleh...Maybe you should check the Suggestions Forum :D Ok ok, i personally would like some Armors from Team Fortress 2. Or Weapons. The Scout's Bat, the Snipers Kukri (would be a nice Shortsword), the Spy's Balisong as a Dagger. Or some Abilities from that Game. I really would like to be able to build sentry Guns. Automated Devices which will shoot very fast moving Projectiles at Entities deemed hostile by said device. Armor/Block training: maybe i haven't noticed that, but are there no modded enemies somewhere will attack as fast as possible with the lowest damage possible? Like Rats, but without Diseases, attacking way faster and with less damage? *binkbinkbinkbinkbink* "You are now a master of blocking. Blocking with your Shield will stun enemies and make them explode."... Oh Yeah, a Sniperrifle would be great. With a Expert Bow Zoom as the Scope and Projectiles that fly straight. In Oblivion, that would be like a Springfield 03. Todays modern highpowered Sniperrifles will provide a Range roughly from Dive Rock to Anvil. The Oblivion engine will get in the Way here, so the Zoom and accuracy of a Sniperrifle of the Word War 2.0 will be sufficient to make a straight shot at everything you can see with the "bow-zoom"... Generally, Armors, Weapons and Stuff from other Games will be greatly appreciated, not only by the People who played the Game. "Never have to reload" Assault Rifles from Mass Effect, the Mako Car from Mass Effect as a Horse; Sound Effects from Games, like Team Fortress Classic would be nice. Valve has some People with a sense of Humour. "Excuse me, i'm in need of medical Attention!". "I appear to have burst into Flames!"... Instead of "He was here a second ago" or "Where are you!" my enemies could say the "Are you still there?" Line from the Turrets of "Portal". Instead of "urgh!" when hit them so hard you'd they'd be nothing left but the cereals they had for Breakfast, they could say "Shutting down!". Yes, i do love those Turrets. Why'd you ask? Ah yes; from another Game: "Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force (long Title is looooong)" has some of the greatest Weapons ever. The Handheld Phasergun is awesome. You can phaser your enemies until they literally vaporize. Good times! :D Another awesome thing is the Tetriongun, which is basically some kind of Alien Minigun. With a secondary fire mode which lets Projectiles bounce off Walls. But the most awesome Thing is the "Personal Photon Torpedo Launcher". They basically let you run around with a BFG 9000, only this time around they thought that it would be nice if it could do some real Damage. So basically, Stuff from other Games would be nice.
  5. regarding the Yellow exclamation mark thingy: That is Oblivions way to tell you the the Object it has been told to draw there can not be found, i.e., a mesh is missing. Maybe something went wrong with the Download (happens rarely) or you have overwritten said mesh while installing another mod there. Happens way more often...
  6. You mean Raminus Polus? Well, he tells me "If you wish to become a Part of the Mages Guild, seek out one of the local Guild Heads. They will instruct you further." i.e. the normal text you'll when you you visit him right out of the Sewers...
  7. I was playing around in Kvatch Aftermath and got stuck, the Questline wouldn't move any further at some Point. After i recovered the Kvatch Ruby i upgraded some Stuff Malisa had, like the Shacks behind the Church. After that, no one would give me any new quests. So i figured that the Necromancer guild there would maybe trigger something. So i did the first two missions for them, the third one is not finished. The second Mission has you stealing a master Mortar and Pestle from the Archmages Quarters. Well, no biggie, i am the Archmage and if he wants that mortar and Pestle that badly he can have it. When i went there to fetch the thing every item was marked with the red Hand. I figured that Giskard marked the Items and the Doors to make this mission a bit more interesting, but every item in the mages Guildhalls and the arcane University stayed "red". Turns out i'm no longer Archmage. I'm not suspended, at least i don't have any journal entry that says so. I can open the doors of the arcane university and enter everywhere without anyone chasing me, although every door is marked red. When i talk to any member of the Mages Guild i hear that i have to speak to the leader of that guild Hall so he could make me a member of the Mages Guild. But no leader of any Guildhall has an appropriate Conversation Option. When i uncheck the mod and start the Game, i'm still not a member of the Mages Guild, although i'm not a member of the Necromancers Guild either because it doesn't exist. It sounds fairly logical that the Mages Guild would throw you out if they knew that you are a Necromancer now. That is, *if* they knew. I didn't told them that. A little Warning would have been nice. Maybe i wanted to join the Necromancers as a double Agent, to finish them and Mannimarco off for good this time. Whatever. What can i do to be Archmage again? I tried to kill a mages guild member, so i would be suspended to trigger the Dialogue that i have to talk to raminus Polus to be reinstated again, doesn't work. Is there a console command that will make me Archmage again?
  8. old german castles, like "Stolzenfels" are quite nice. Don't go for something like "Neuschwanstein", thats a bit overblown... Most of the Castles have one thing in common: they where tailored to fit in the Landscape and make some use of it. Something that is not very well done in Oblivion. There's something that you could do: Make a castle/Keep/whatever to fit onto the Landscape, i.e. mug around in that Landscape until your castle fits in. A Nice Place for a Keep is on top of a Hill. The View is not only gorgeous but also of some military use because you could spot enemies from a great Distance. The other Way around, your Enemy sees a giant Castle sitting on top of a Hill, he knows it wont be easy climbing that Hill while your Soldiers throw all Sorts of poo at him, which was quite literal, historically accurate. And when he makes it that far he's standing on the outside of the Walls which seem to get higher and higher as the Enemy gets closer. If some People decide to pay your Keep a visit, you may want to be prepared. If they can't crack your Walls, they may try to wait it out and lay Siege on you. Have several Wells in your Castle, with huge pumping gear since you'll have to pull water from great depths. Have many Barrels there as well, People need Food. Have a small stable with Sheep. Some Sieges lasted for a really long time, the longest i know of being the second Siege of Constantinople, 674–678. No Siege of any Castle took that long, anyone who wants to attack that Castle will do so before he gets too bored. Any actual Attack may be thwarted by your own Siege machinery you may want to place inside your Castle. Also, have some Blacksmith Fireplaces and some iron Buckets around, burning coal does have quite an Effect on attacking Troops. Also have Piles of Rocks placed conveniently on top of your Walls, as well as some long Sticks. Both will come in handy against Siege Ladders or Soldiers who'll try to climb them. If you want a moad, place some wooden Stakes underwater. Enemies wading through your moat will have to do so as fast as they can, lest they'd be hit by Arrows, Rocks, Coal or something. It was quite well known that certain "unclean" things are very hazardous to one's health. If enemies wade through the water, which will most likely consist of more then 50% human waste, and they get pierced by the half rotten wooden Stakes, they will die in horrifying Agony, within minutes if a femur Artery is pierced. This will have quite an adverse Effect on the morale of their Comrades. So, place stakes in the Water, the Kvatch Barrier things will do nicely. All in all, make a "realistic" Castle. Maybe you'll fit Elderscrolls Lore in there somewhere. In addition to the Troops, some Mages could run around, healing or buffing the Troops. Have some Welkynd Stones and Stone Chest stocked with magicka Potions around. Maybe you can squeeze a fetchquest in there, in which the Player has to fetch this number of Welkynd Stones and that Number of this Ingredient to make the Castle more Battleready. To have an actual Battle take Place would be rather difficult. My Suggestions here are for building a Castle, which has, among other Things, the Function of scaring off any Potential Enemy. To do so, it would have to look a bit more functional then any Keep in Oblivion.
  9. He who has played the game a million billion times and now plays it again fo shits and giggles and makes himself Armor that turns his character into some Kind of mix of Man and Refrigerator who could absorb all the Damage that has been done in all the historic Wars combined if he wants to has a character that will live on... well, a really really long time ;D My favorite Weapons, just for the Looks, would be the fine steel Longsword. For maces i'm of two minds, either the molag Bal thingy or the elven mace. Axes: That would be the Elven War Axe. The Elven Claymore also looks nice, equal to the fine steel claymore imho. Shadowrend looks nice =) In the Dagger category, the Elven Dagger takes the cake. Bows: The Glass Bow is my Pick for that.
  10. What now? Are you a master in both heavy and light armor? How long did that take? I remember how i went into the sewers in a room with three mudcrabs and let them pinch me until their Claws should've been ground up on the ten full sets of heavy armor i brought down there. I made a heal over time spell that ran a long time and went into the state of halfsleep that is very well known to MMORPG players when they grind something... Either that or you could just be lazy and use the Console :P With a heavy Shield, do you still get the 50% Armor bonus for wearing all light armor? Or is it a roleplay thing? If so, you could use a light armor shield, some of them seem to be pretty "heavy" to me, like maybe the Elven Shield. That's like solid Metal and it sure is big enough to actually protect you. Why the Akaviri shield is "heavy" and the Elven Shield is "light" is beyond me. The Classification is completely arbitrary, as you can see with the "iron shield" (Heavy Armor) and the "light Iron Shield" (Duh! :D)... Or you could make a giant Towershield, but then again there probably are a million billion bajillion hyperkajillion Shields out there already ;D
  11. What is a "Secret"? Secret in the Gamestory, so no NPC can tell you about it or Secret like in "they put it in as an Easter Egg" or something? "Secret" Dungeons? There are many Dungeons which are supposed to be "Secret" in the Story of a related Quest. "Angar" is an Ayleid Ruin you can not enter unless you have the related Quest running. Secret enough? How about "Unmarked Cave", which is a Cave (Duh!) that didn't really make it in the Game, you now have this half way done Mess. Furthermore, there are some "Secret" in some of the Castles. There are Secret Areas in the Castles of Skingrad, Leyawin and Anvil, the latter one is not related to any Quest. To my Knowledge, there is no Easter Egg Dungeon, unless you count the unmarked Cave, which would be a rather boring Easter Egg. There are however, about a million billion bajillion Dungeons to be found as Mods. I think every Modder and their Dog has made a dungeon at some Point, even i have glued some Cavepieces together once...
  12. Ocato it is. He sits around all day in the game, but i think he's supposed to be more or less in charge for the past twenty years.
  13. When you equip the Shield, your Character holds it tightly. Phillada doesn't see the DB Armor too often, Assasins can change their Outfit in an instant :D and even if he did, they are assassins, of course they are wearing black Clothes. Visibility in the Night and so on. But, not everyone who wears black Clothes is an Assassin. Some People may be working as an Agent for some Government Department, some People may just like wearing Black.
  14. what mods do you have installed? Although i highly doubt the obse is to blame. It can't conflict with mods :D What enchantments do you want to have? making enchantments in the Oblivion Construction Set is so easy, even i can do it :D
  15. you will have to download the "Oblivion Script extender" and start the game with that.
  16. I don't think it would be possible to get that right; Sure, it would be better than the Movies, place some Xenomorphs in a dungeon with the Dungeon music and they will be more spooky then the Aliens in AvP. The Oblivion engine, as you well know, has some Limitations that will make it incredibly difficult to really get the proper "feel" over here. There are some Issues with the practicality; You will have to make Face Huggers. They would have to be able to attach themselves to NPCs who then will be paralyzed for a day or so until their Chest bursts open and you know the rest...
  17. That maybe an Idea for a Mod; although it may not be possible. Maybe its a Suggestion for TES 5. Have NPCs serve time in the Prison. If i was *that* poor that i had to steal a Loaf of Bread just to survive, i'd probably make it so the Guards would see me. In the Oblivion world, nothing ever spoils so i'll get fresh Food everyday in a nice warm Place with a solid Roof over my Head. In any "realistic" World, Guards or if you want to, Policemen will be pretty much used to the Fact that the Prisons are more comfortable than the Streets and some People will try to steal something rather big to serve a Sentence that will keep them in Prison rather then the Streets for the Winter. So, i'd like to see City Swimmer in a Bravil Prison if she stole some Bread. Another Thing, even if some NPC is depicted as so desperate and/or lunatic that s/he would rather "resist Arrest" rather then serve a Sentence, Guards could try to bring that one in, with the use of non-deadly Force if possible. Have a random Chance that the NPC will either give up or will lose consciousness so the Guards can bring em in.
  18. Another Idea to have Guard armors improving: Bring new armors to the Guards. After cleaning out yet another Bandit lair, i could bring their Armors to the Guard Barracks and they would distribute the new Armor amongst them. Maybe the Guards will run around looking all different. There would have to be some requirements; like the new Armor not being equipped until there are enough pieces for everyone on the force. Or have a numerical requirement: The Guards wont wear Glass Curiases until there are 10 of them in the "Vault", where you bring the armors in. If there are 13 Guardsmen, they all get Glass Armor spawned in their inventory. Adjust the number requirement to your liking, maybe you feel that for 15 Guards about 20 Armor Pieces should be there. In case something breaks. Anyhow, the Armorparts the Player brings to the Vault should be despawned while new Armors are spawned for the Guardsmen. If there are less then the required number of armors in the Vault, only High Ranking Members of the Force get to wear them =)
  19. I think I'll chime in. I can make some simple Mods. I can not Script and i can't make any meshes and/or Textures. All the Modders who can do something like that are probably busy making some "real" mods. If you want any numbers changed, i can do that. An Umbra Sword, hammered to 125% Health will do a maximum of 33 basedamage. How about 3000? I made myself a super weapon which is not that extremely over the top. My Sword is not enchanted, it just has a high base damage. I can do basic Stuff, changing Numbers, checking and unchecking boxes, create new Forms for Items. My Supersword looks like a Fine Steel Longsword, does way more Damage then Umbra and "ignores normal Weapons Resistances", i.e. i can slay Ghosts. I can make some Armor heavy or light. Heavy Glass Armor, light Daedric Armor, you name it. Want to have the Emperors Robe? Its fairly easy to make the thing count as "heavy armor". It may be equipped in the right ring Slot. Or in the "Tail" Slot which isn't used in the Vanilla Game (I a certain NPC will use this Slot later in the Game). Enchantments are fairly easy as well. Want a ring that gives you Water Breathing, Night Eye and 400ft Light? This will make you look like Dr.Manhattan while you are in front of your Computer... Maybe i'm not so bad at modding after all, i just made up the first Oblivion mod which changes the Appearance of the Player, not the playercharacter ;D Well, if you want to have your personal God weapon, God Armor or just find your Daedric Armor ugly and you want some Blackwood Armor with daedric Stats, send me a PM.
  20. If you'll have a Hospital there, make two NPCs who'll fight all the time: Dr. Cox and Dr. House :D Well, not really. Instead have some little Doctors House there with one Doctor. Who has some drawings of the Human anatomy in his office.
  21. Another Thing, i dont know if this came up yet; I recently remembered "Breath of fire 2" which is a nice RPG for SNES/Super Famicom. In this Game you found a rundown Building and you can hire some People to rebuild the House and build some more houses. After a while you'll have a "city" which consists of 7 Houses. The Carpenters there may be a bit hyperactive as the build more houses then they need. So you can travel around in the Gameworld to "recruit" homeless People which will then live in your City. Some of those People have some nice Things to offer; There is a doctor which will give you shots so that your Party wont be suffering Poison Damage from the Monsters. I always wanted to have a Place for NPCs i resurrected during my Adventures. With the "Toastie says share" mod i'd place them somewhere in Bleakers Way. My own personal zombietown :D Not everybody playing your mod will use the companion mod, so it would be cool if there where some Conversation Option with certain NPCs. The PC could ask them if they want to start a new life in this new Place. People could "recruit" the Beggars and they'd life and work on the Island, maybe they'd have even some real functions, like shopkeepers or trainers. If possible, something like a "overwrite blank" would be nice. Any NPC "recruited" to start a new life will be disabled to be replaced by a clone with the same Body but new scripts and new quests for conversations. Of course, this would lead to the arduos Task to make some NPCs which are needed for Quests "unrecruitable".
  22. It would be easier if the "better" Versions of the Houses had Furniture just as big as the old ones. Cubboards as big as the old ones, the Beds are the same Places and so on. Everything would look better but the NPCs AI could stay the same.
  23. would be nice if you could add the moaning soundeffects when the Character gets a hit =)
  24. I could provide something. How to get the player to the Island: Well, since your Island community is to be a growing one, maybe they sent out for People to join them to earn the benefits this Land has to offer. This would be like the Handbills the english Government handed out to populate the new Colony in America. They where giving away Land for free in Order to lure Settlers to America in Order to improve Trading in the Colony. More People working on their Crops meant not only more Crops to trade with, but also a greater Variety of them. So, your community wants to be a bit bigger, so they send out Flyers to attract Settlers. "A New Life awaits you! We have fertile Land, far away from the Wars of the Past and struggles of today. We will take Care of anyone who wishes to settle here. You can plant your Crops and see how it grows while our island will grow on you. You will only need some tools and determination to build your new Life here, on _____!" That will attract Settlers and the Player. Now about Quests: The Island may as well contain something useful for the Player character, like Master Trainers, maybe a teleporter to the Playerhouses in Cyrodiil. The Place would start out with Farmers. the island will need something more. The People maybe able to grow their Food, but they will want something more. The first Thing should be a Ship. The Player could buy the "Serpents Wake" quite cheaply and hire a Crew to establish a Trade route. The Ship will not be seen sailing anywhere, but as soon as the Player does this Quest there will be some more Goods on the Island. The Serpents wake could bring some Booze in, which brings me to the Next Point: A Bar. The Player will provide Money. An NPC will build a Bar, or an Inn. This could be done in Steps. When the Player decides he wont give up a large Amount of Money, the Inn will be little more than a Shack, like the Inns that can be found scattered in Cyrodiil, or the one in Aleswell. If the Player coughs up more Gold, the inn will be bigger. A Chapel would be next. Grandmaster Jauffre would be pleased to send Brother Renip, which joined the Order recently, to oversee the construction of a new Chapel. Renip could be Priest there and a Master restoration Trainer. With the chapel Quest, the island will need a decent Port first. Carrying cases of Booze Landwarts on a Boat is one thing, but Stones are another. A harbour makes it possible to haul the Cargo directly of a Ship. Have the church in the center of the settlement, while the Inn would be at the Harbour. There should be some Kind of Bay to serve as a natural Harbour. Where the Ships lay Anchor to bring Goods or new Settlers, the Inn could be and then a real Harbour.
  25. The Emperor may have retreated to the Prison because the Imperial Legions Headquarters are also there. And then he decided "Its not save here, lets escape through a filth encrusted Sewer with only two Guards with crappy Armor for some Reason." Well, Uriel could have been moved to the Imperial Legions Headquarters for security Reason. Then one of the ImperialGuards turns out to be a Mythic Dawn Agent in disguise, so they decide to flee. They dont want to alarm any Assassins by parading down the City, which would be dangerous because someone could hide on a Rooftop to fire a deadly Arrows into the Old Mans Eye. They may have figured that they could get out the Tutorial dungeon and get the Emperor secretly to a boat where they could move him to Bravil. After the Emperor has changed into a less "Emperor-like" Set of Clothes, Bravil would be a good hideout for a while until they could organize a proper Transportation for the Emperor to Cloud Ruler Temple.
