  1. I do not know yet, I am not even sure how to do the conditions system. I might look through the recorded content to see what I can find that would fit, but one thing at a time. Right now, I am still working on NPC appearance and building changes. ( I am almost done with Whiterun and Riverwood) Then I want to focus on Inns and getting those finished up so that I can test out the new rental system. But I wanted ideas before I dove headfirst into this and spent months working on it, only to have another idea I really like pop up and have to start over. I hate when that happens.
  2. Hmmm, good idea. I will look into that. Thinking about it, someone released a similar naughty mod over on the-site-that-must-not-be-named recently. I might go dissect it and see how they set it up. It was not this elaborate. But it did add in conditions for certain behaviors. So it would be a start.
  3. It would be an awesome idea...but I have no idea how I would even start on that. Let me check with the guy who is helping me with scripting, because he is awesome, and maybe we can see how possible that would be. But I would still like suggestions as to who might be interested in what.
  4. Yes, I am female and I use skimpy armors. Go figure. Anyway. The whole remodeling NPCs came because I was also irritated that no matter what skin texture you use, everyone else uses it to. Personally, I love using SG Texture renewal, but it looks a bit odd on some people. So I contacted several texture authors (or looked at their permissions tab) and got permissions to include those. Which means that while several people in the game will have similar textures (Women of Skyrim, the variations of BiPhenotypes, etc) Not everyone will have exactly the same sets of scars. And I was gonna have to manually texture the heads anyway after that, so I decided to make some changes, remove some dirt (not all, Skyrim is a filthy place, though less so with the bathhouses I mentioned earlier), and remove some of the makeup, because I am tired of everyone wearing so damned much eye shadow. "Everybody drop your weapons, or I scrape off all her makeup!...This might take, like, a really long time." Sorry, I do watch a lot of movies...and I enjoyed Tank Girl...even though I know it was really bad.
  5. This is very true...I have another mod that people asked for a modular version for. And once I get the final version finished and all the bugs removed, I might do that. But it is so much easier to work in one file than making the same changes 5 different times in different versions. That is HORRIBLE. And a huge waste of time. :) Besides, like I said, I was already having to change the NPC to add in new AI (Bathhouses in cities, attached to the remodeled Inns, so less stinky people, and it works with Bathing in Skyrim), so I wanted to take it farther instead of making a separate mod that I would have to patch later, I just did it this way. It works for me.
  6. Not really. Like I said, I don't expect everyone to like what I did. And I don't really care if people hate. This is the internet, so it is inevitable. Though I do need to give her back her warpaint. Or a new one. But not everyone likes my choices. I certainly don't always like the choices everyone else makes, but I don't have to download those mods. This is off topic though. I only posted that to make a point. Many people will not like what I do regardless, so changing the gender preferences for marraige is something I am going to do in this mod. And some people will not download it for that reason, just like some people will not download it because they do not like how NPCs look, just like some people will not like it because they prefer to use other mods that make changes to the same area's. And some people will say it was stupid and pointless...Etc etc etc. It is gonna get done regardless though, because I can. And I have way too much time on my hands a the moment. Edit: I would also point out, that I started with her original, made her lips a little fuller, changed her eye color, hairstyle, and coloring to more of a natural peach-tone. I may also have increased her eye size a little...but it has been over 2 weeks...and several other NPCs, so I cannot remember for certain. Otherwise I really did not do much of a change on her. Oh and gave her the textures from the BiPhenotypes mod, barbarian body and base head. Though I had considered giving her some sort of scar on her face, I don't think she had one to start with. But Meh. I don't want to completely change everyone. Most people are getting new hair, coloring, textures, and a few other tweaks. but like I said, it is all a matter or preferance. Thank you to TheMagician for doing the Ultimate NPC Face Unlocker mod.
  7. Though thinking about it. Many people will probably not use it anyway due to some of the other changes I have made to NPC Appearance and/or Skills and Spells. There are a lot of good mods out there that already do that. But of course, if you use one of them, you need patches to work with others that effect the same character. Which is one of the reasons I started doing this. I was tired of having everything conflict and I wanted to do something that would fix it (for me) all at once. Plus, I like customizing stuff. I don't claim to be as good as many other people, but I also don't want everyone in the game to be super pretty. I mean yeah, some will be, but I also want to do some average looking people and there will probably also be some that look like they fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. As for the photo, I know it will not be to everyone's taste to see my version of Aela (still working on getting the textures right to fix neck seams). But like I said before, I mod for me, I just came here asking for ideas or suggestions.
  8. I appreciate it. But most of the time the creation kit already says who is in a relationship with who. But thank you. Also, the whole pairing Carlotta up was just kind of an irony thing. Since she complains about all the men flirting with her, and how some of them are even single. Still, it just bugs me that while anyone will marry the dragonborn, because he/she is just so friggin awesome, almost all other couples in Skyrim are hetero pairings. I can only think of one exception that was added by the dragonborn DLC, and they were both dead. :( And while I am not wanting to do anything as drastic as DA:I where you have to play as a certain race for some character's romance (that irritated me...I wanted to run my first play-through as a Qunari, but I could not romance Cullen that way, and since I was lusting after him since the first game...I went ahead and played through as a human first. Then again, as much as I like Dorian, I cannot ever see him as a romance option, not because I rarely play as a male, but because he is just too fun of a character to have as a friend without adding "The Feels" to it.) Ugh, I just woke up and am not talking right, I know this. I just wanted to add something to the game that made it so that not just anyone would marry the dragon born, just because you brought them a mammoth tusk or chopped firewood for them. Sure that might get you in their good graces, but unless they were attracted to you in the first place, I don't see why they should marry you. But with the game in it's current form, everyone is attracted to you. On an unrelated note, I do also want to put in a brothel....no animations of course, at least not without other mods, but with what seems like every unattached person in Skyrim lusting after the dragonborn, it seems like kind of a silly idea.
  9. considering it is already remodeling all the NPC houses, inns, taverns, NPCs, and a lot of AI (since it adds new things like bath houses, shops, etc) as well as many exteriors (the farms in the original game suck). There will already be a lot of people who don't want to use it. No skin on my back. I make what I want to make and I share in case anyone else wants to use it. But I have not romanced everyone in the game...or even talked to them. So I was asking for suggestions. Besides, I also want to add some non-marriageable NPCs a significant other with more variety. For instance, as much as Carlotta Valentine complains about men, I figure she probably has a wife or at least girlfriend at home. Maybe she takes care of the house while Carlotta is a the shop all day. I don't know yet. but I have spent so much time researching the towns and villages and trying to get history on them all to make this realistic, I just wanted to make the people more realistic as well.
  10. Ugh, i was not complaining, i was saying that to me it was unrealistic, and I was asking for suggestions on who might think which, if any NPCs are not bi. It was an idea I had to add more feel to the game. Personally I don't give a crap who anybody sleeps with in real life, I was just wanting to add something else to my mod, and I was asking for opinions. Edit: I was wanting to add a bit more depth to some of the characters. make them not quite so flat, emotionless, and pointless to marry. As such I was also spending a large part of the time actually filling out that stats and spell lists and making them useful. But I think it is kind of messed up that most of the married couples in skyrim are hetero, which seems fairly unrealistic if anyone will marry you regardless.
  11. So...I am working on a NPC overhaul, and I am seriously considering making a few other adjustments. For example...Not everyone in Skyrim is Bisexual. I don't have a problem with anyone who is, but for me it kind of kills the whole feel of getting any kind of romance going on. Oh you are the dragonborn...sure I will shag you. It has nothing to do with emotion or personal preference, it is just because you are so AWESOME! No...it does not work that way. So, I might expand the marriage options, add in a few new people. All the housecarls will still swing both ways (They are willing to do ANYTHING to make their thane happy, so sure they would be glad to marry you). But Farkas does not seem like the kind of guy to me who would be into other guys...though I can totally imagine Vilkas swinging both ways. So yeah. I almost always play as a woman...well, I am one, and I never try to romance other females...since that is not really my preference. But I just feel that it would add something if you could not romance any option no matter what. TLDR: It was pretty short...but I do ramble. I want to adjust the marriage options in Skyrim so that you have people who are Heterosexual, Homosexual, or Bisexual. I plan on expanding the NPCs, so I will probably pair up a few that are already around, or give them new spouses. Regardless, I would like ideas and opinions. In Skyrim, who do you think should have what marriage gender preference?
  12. Oh thank you! I have tried setting up separate forum threads on my mods to report bugs in, but no one ever used it. Fingers crossed that this will work.
  13. So, I am gonna break out my Inner b&@*$ here and just say. WTF!?! Seriously. Have you ever tried modding? Have you ever tried scripting? Have you ever do anything? Sure, it is not heavy manual labor intensive, but it does require a lot of mental skill, which says to me that no, you have not done, or if you tried you failed miserably. Some of these mods took hundreds of hours to make, that is trying to get everything to work right in the mod, as well as trying to get it all to play nice with the original game scripts, and trying to weed out incompatibilities with other mods. It is time difficult, time consuming, and exhausting to do. Please, pull your head from your sphincter and think before you post again about how modders don't work. If this crap was so easy, then there would be more awesome mods like Frostfall (also Hypothermia) or INeed (yeah, there are 3 popular ones, and that is the most recent of them, but 3 out of hundreds....do the math), and people would not have gotten so bent out of shape that something they had been using for years suddenly had a new update that they would have to pay for, they would have just switched to something comparable. but there was nothing similar.
  14. You are very welcome. I appreciate that. And I know what you mean about dependencies. I know that SkyUI will be putting a new version up behind the paywall...but at least most of the current mods should still run on the old version, since that is what they were based on. In fact, depending on how the scripts are written, they may not work on the new version. It gets a little confusing.
  15. Ahh, therein lies the problem. I don't think that either side is right. Not 100% anyway. This game is great, I have enjoyed since I first got it, and started using mods on my second play-through, and then started making mods shortly after that. I am slow at it, but meh I think Valve is screwing everyone over, and I think their whole setup sucks. I think this was a horrible idea. At the same time I think that some modders should have the option to be compensated, considering if you spend 1000 hours working on something, it would be nice if someone at least bought you a cup of coffee. I think it would be better if Nexus implemented something like....as annoying as it would be. "watch this ad, and a portion of the revenue goes to the mod author." That is not a serious suggestion, it is just something I pulled out of the air now. Though I know it would be possible to implement, it could get awkward. But I am one of those weirdo's who specifically turn off my adblocker for the Nexus...as much as I hate their adds, they provide a service I appreciate, so I just leave my headphones off and try to ignore them. Argh! Crud! The whole system is screwed up, but no one seems to want to fix it, they just want to argue about who is right. The problem is that no one is completely right, and no one is completely wrong. But what bothers me is the harassment and hate that people are flinging around. And now we have modders who have provided us with awesome content for years who have been harassed and have left for an undetermined amount of time (I am not talking about me, I mean people who do awesome mods like Chesko and Isoku). I saw mods over in the pay area by a few other really popular people, but no one seems to be flaming them, so I am not even sure what the criteria for the hatred is anymore.
  16. I know not everyone is hateful. I have met some amazing and wonderful people here that I now consider my friends. But it still depresses the crap out of me to be around the hate, and since they are the ones that scream the loudest to make themselves heard, it is hard to ignore. Hopefully in a few weeks, this will have calmed down, and maybe by then one of my new mods will be ready to post, and I can do a few updates to the old one.
  17. Its not bull, its called protesting and I absolutely love the people doing it. But, if instead of protesting people would put their effort into building a good mod, that would be awesome! I am not ragging on NerdofPrey, he was the first one I saw, and personally I thought his beggar was funny and fit the situation well. But there are so many out now. And some of them are just being hateful to other modders. Please read above. I have hidden them since i will not be around to provide support. This is not a protest, this is an "I don't feel like being around hateful people, so I will not be on the Nexus, and I will not be able to provide support. If I am going to post mods, I want to be able to provide support for them, and it bothers me not to." I am still working on 2 other large mods, but those are not done yet, and with all the conflict flying around, it is not fun anymore. Edited to correct spelling (which I am bad at) and for clarification (which I am also bad at)
  18. this, exactly. Thank you! I don't even feel like working on the projects I have going right now.
  19. I underlined the hypocritical part in case my previous post wasn't clear enough. Actually none of what you said was clear. It was obviously said to get a reaction. This is not a protest, I just don't want to see all the hate, so I am taking a leave of absence. I do make mods, and I don't feel butthurt about some people wanting to make money. I just see this as a change, that will probably not go anywhere, but I am tired of looking at it. So no, sorry, I will not rise to your bait and flame you and then get banned. I don't think you are worth it. I don't think that "The internets iz serious bizness". And I don't want to look at hateful things. I could continue this discussion, but really, what would be the point. You don't have a cohesive argument, and I am not going to be able to change your mind, so there is nothing for it. If you can't see your own hypocrisy, then I can't say I'm surprised. But if you feel it is warranted to continue insulting people while complaining about other people being insulted, then that's on you. I can only stop to question you "do you really think it's fair to target those you don't agree with and not self-reflect in the process?" But it's your call. Ahh, got it. I think I understand what you mean now. And I fully admit, I am a horrible b&@*$. I don't like people, quite frankly most of them confuse and bewilder me. I cannot understand why people have to hate and be mean to each other over something simple. Why do people kill each other for a different color of skin? Why do people kill each other over religion? Why do people kill each other because someone wants to love with a person of the same gender? I just don't understand people, and therefore I don't like being around them. I fully and readily admit to that. Why are people being hateful, telling mod authors to f*ck off and die, telling mod authors that they are just being greedy for making a bad choice? I don't understand it considering it is just a game, and there are so many more important things in life than a game. So no, I came to the nexus to look at mods, to post my own, and to talk to people about fun things that we had in common. Not to get involved in a bunch of drama. But that is the thing now, I can't. I cannot log on, look at the hotfiles or recent uploads, and not see all the hate. People could have a civil discussion about this, people are free to disagree with anything I say, but a rational, coherent argument is important, not spewing hate and outright lies and venom. I don't want to be around it...which is why I said I was not going to be around for awhile. I was not singling any individual out, I was simply stating that I don't want to be around hateful people. A majority of this community has turned into an argument. I don't want to be part of either side, all I even came here for was to make mods, talk to people with similar interests, and play a game. Now I cannot even do that, so no, I don't see a point in hanging around until after this whole thing dies down.
  20. I could, but then I would still feel like I should be around to reply. If I am going to put something out for people, I feel like I should support it. If I am not going to be around to support it, I don't feel like I should leave it flapping in the breeze and causing anyone game problems.
  21. 22. If you have been spreading hate and fear, then you are part of the problem. The only people who can be part of the solution are the ones doing it, if they stop being hateful, or the admins if they want to step in. I am simply removing myself from the equation.
  23. It is not punishment. I make mods for myself, if other people want them then they can use them. But I don't want anyone else to download them, and then have problems that I am not around to answer. I cannot in good conscience leave them up if I am not able to provide support for them. If you already have them, and you run into a problem feel free to PM me...but It is night right to anyone else for me to leave them up if I am not here to provide assistance in case of conflicts of bugs.
  24. No one will care. I already know this. But at the same time, I am sure i cannot be the only one. I am so sick of hearing all the hate and vehemence spewed right now. Do I like what Valve is doing.? No. Do I think everyone will get screwed over in this? YES! Do I in any way endorse all the spite and crap flying around on Nexus at the moment. HELL TO THE NO! I cannot even come on, and look for new cool mods without being bombarded with all the spiteful piles of crap. All these mods that are being released right now as some kind of half assed protests...It is bull. If people put half as much effort into trying to produce good mods as they do into feeling butthurt, then this community could be great. But so many people are just being mean and spiteful and selfish. And if you get bent out of shape by my saying that...then congratulations, you are probably one of them. Until this crap blows over, I am taking down my mods. They will not deleted, just hidden. I don't want to be part of a community that spreads this much vitriol, and I don't want to have to come here and try to help people or correct bug issues if I am going to see all this hatred and fighting. Too much fear-mongering, too much hate-mongering, just too much of people getting bent out of shape and acting like the whole damned world will come crashing down over 1 thing. There is more to life than modding. There is more to life than Skyrim. And I am gonna go do some of that now.
  25. well, I stopped uploading to steam when I started using resources that specified they were for Nexus only. Now I am just gonna go take down my stuff from over there, because this is just stupid. I make mods for myself. I share them for other people who might enjoy them. I mean sure, some extra cash would be nice, but I don't think modding should be something people do for money. Then it turns into a job, and is not fun anymore. Just blah! All of a sudden one of my favorite hobbies is something I feel like I HAVE to do and that just sucks all the enjoyment right out of it. Seriously, this whole idea is like a fun vampire...a funpire. But, you know, less sexy.
