  1. FYI, Bumping is against the TOS. Which doors do you want retextured. Different mods do different ones. There are shack doors, Whiterun Doors, Riften Doors, Solitude Doors. As such, google the one you want a texture for and go from there. Or, you know, search the models and textures section of the downloads for descriptions that include door. There are several Rock replacement textures. And at least a few snow replacement mods. Finally do a search for a decal fix.
  2. Yes. Saurusmaximus is mostly correct. I have done this before. MWA HA HA HA. You can just move your entire Skyrim/Data folder...that is all mods you have installed. Generally I take this as a good time to clean mine out, but to each their own. Do not forget to also move over the Nexus Mod Manager folder, which should be in your program files on your c drive (probably) as well as your saves and other pertinent patches which is probably in my documents/games/Skyrim. You should be able to copy and paste the whole folder.
  3. Have you run LOOT or Wrye Bash, those might give you a better idea if you are missing a master file. Which is one of the primary causes of CTD from the main menu. As for the controller, I have no idea.
  4. That is not true, you helped me a few weeks ago on the Quick Questions/Quick Answers thread. Your answer did not solve my problem completely, but it certainly pointed me in the right direction so I knew that my problem was with the head textures, not the body. And I really appreciate that. So thank you again. I know what you mean there. I usually for several hours, search google, get lost searching google, get taken to sites that have nothing at all to do with what I am looking for, go back to google, search again...etc etc etc. This is never my first place to come for answers. And when you do not know the questions to ask in the first place, it is very difficult. I had a problem a couple of weeks ago with grey body textures. Everything I searched for pulled up the grey face bug. 6 pages into google search, I gave up. I redid the textures completely...still there. Thankfully Terra Nova said on a forum post that she thought it was something to do with the textures on the head. So was able to remake the nif file from a backup, and poof, no more problems. Then again, sometimes the answer is there...buried in an 8 page long tutorial, and it gets really confusing when you just need 1 tiny piece of information, so you read the whole thing, cannot understand any of it and get very confused trying. While you could solve the problem another way, that would lead to 3X the work and effort, someone here might have an idea that would save you a lot of time...it is just something you never thought of. I am fairly good at the modding I do know, but for the last year my ability to learn new things has been all kinds of messed up. I have to take it all in tiny chunks to absorb anything, and even then, sometimes things just don't stick. While I cannot always get answers here, it is not because I am being too lazy to google it, it is just that since my mind went haywire, I have days that I get confused very easily. On those days it is nice to have a place I can go to with people who can give me a clear and concise rundown without all the extra that will just make my head spin.
  5. I am trying to put together the final version of my mod. I made several variations, upon requests, and still have a few more to do. Instead of having 15+ different downloads, I wanted to make a FOMOD put them all in one place, but alas, alas. it was not to be. I have been fighting with this thing all day and I cannot get it to work. I have whittled down part of the problems. But now when I go to test it on NMM and I get the error of: A Problem Occurred During Install The element 'plugin' has incomplete content. List of possible elements expected: 'files, typeDescriptor.' The mod was not installed I have been working on this particular problem for a couple of hours this afternoon. And I just cannot find the mistake. If anyone else would mind taking a look and seeing if something jumps out at you that I messed up? I would really appreciate a fresh pair of eyes. And yes, this is my first attempt at a FOMOD...Hopefully once I have it down how to do it, it will get easier...right? Edit: I picked apart a couple of other FOMOD files that I could find online, and implemented those changes...but still not luck, I have an error message.
  6. And this is one of the main reasons I prefer NMM to MO. I can have all my crap in one place. I mean sure, most of the older mods from Dragon Age are not able to be installed correctly without a little tweaking, but it is nice to just know where they are. For what I need, it does the trick. And the things it does not work on, will have to be done manually anyway so it is always good to learn how to do that regardless. I tried MO...I just did not like it. Not least of all because I hated having to open it to play Skyrim. I have done, and still do some manual installs. Especially when i am working on a mod and I just need to test something out. it is easier for me to just dump it in my data folder than drag and drop, activate, etc. As for what Code Wolf said earlier about breaking the game...yeah...I have done that, several times in fact. And the more I do, the more I learn how the whole thing works. It can be kind of fun. Though a pain in the butt to have to turn around and wipe and reinstall everything. :) Always keep a pristine copy of the base game somewhere as a backup...save a few hours of having to download from steam again. :)
  7. Sorry, but I could not find an answer to this, but is there a preferred file type you would like the CV submitted in? pdf, doc, txt?
  8. Nifscope Question: I am using UNFU (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/21488/?) to open NPC faces in racemenu, modifying them, then exporting them. For some reason, about half of them so far are showing up without head skin textures: under the NITriShape for head, there is no BSLightingShaderProperty node. I figured out how to add that. But now I cannot seem to figure out how to add the BSShaderTextureSet to that node. I have tried looking at tutorials, and while I would like to learn Nifscope more, I would rather wait until I am done with this project before I add learning a new program to my repertoire. plus lots of information overload, and it gets me very confused. If somebody could just give me a quick idea of how to do that, or a link to a video, or something that might help, I would really appreciate it. This has really slowed down my work, not being able to fix that. I have about 30 heads, just sitting there, with no skin on them that I cannot use until I get it sorted out. Thanks.
  9. This is a problem with the settings in BSLighteningShaderProperty. One of those color settings I think. I will give it a shot, I had no idea where to even start. And I am trying to learn nifscope. I really appreciate the reply.
  10. I am adding custom body textures to some NPCs as part of a mod...while I don't get the grey face bug, the body texture has a grey look to it. Does anyone know what is causing this, and how to fix it?
  11. I appreciate the attempt. So thank you.
  12. i have tried googling. Before I posted here. Most of the results came back with the grey face bug. And No, it is using CBBE on Lydia. I might see if i have any better luck with UNP on someone else.
  13. Once again, I appreciate the help. But this is not a face texture issue. I know how to edit those...I just do not know how to fix up the body texture...I cannot seem to find where the custom skins are...or if that would even help. :) Still, thank you for trying.
  14. Thank you, but no. the body is much darker than the head, The textures are not loading correctly. I do not know ho how to fix the textures for custom skins,
  15. I have been using the tutorial to create standalone NPCs, only to edit and NPC: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25673/? I give you, Lydia...shorter hair, bigger eyes, different colors and textures...and for some reason, a grey body. I know I followed the tutorial on how to do custom body textures, and I am using the Bi-Phenotype Barbarian body, with the Bi phenotype Base head. I cannot figure out what I have done, and while I know it is a texture problem...I have tried to start from scratch 3 times with no luck. If anyone has any idea or suggestion on how to fix this, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
  16. I am slowly working on one, as my mind works right. But that means I got a few weeks between being able to do anything on it, breif bouts of lots of work and then nothing again. I just want to get it more refined before i release it fully. Plus i bought the Legendary Edition of Skyrim for my husband so he can beta test for me. My brain has just been on the fritz for the last year, so things are harder for me to comprehend and grasp. I know i need to go back and update the older versions of the original mod, and make a Hearthfires Only version. I just don't have the energy for it right now. Hopefully soon. I also need to figure out how to fix a few glitches in AI...but once again I keep reading the tutorials and not comprehending, hopefully my brain will get it's act together soon so I can fix it up and release a very final version. And get back to work on my other mods I have in process. Including a mod for all cities, towns, shops, and inns remodel that has been in process for over a year.
  17. IpCoercion: becuase I already have several different version of the game, it is horrible to maintain all of them and make updates to all of them. vanilla houses, hearthfire houses, severin manor. general stores, non general stores. It made me want to pull out my hair. Plus people constantly asking if I had a modular version becuase they only wanted part of the houses. But the whole thing was that it is all part of 1 esp file, therefore requiring other people to open it in TESVEdit and take out the houses that they did not want. If i had a way to turn off the houses they did not want, it would be much easier. But since I am done with it now, it is a moot point anyway. Mostly I wanted help making a MCM menu becuase that is the easiest way I learn, is by taking apart something to see hoiw it is done. And while YES, I know that there are others out there that I could do it for, I have had a difficult time finding one that would focus on what I need. This of course is why I have not maintained the previous 3 versions like I need to, it is just too many to keep track of. I want to do that eventually, but I need a break from modding now. This thread was started over 6 months ago.
  18. I know that one actually, but it would have been more work in the long run. I wanted a single item I could use as the activator to spread around all the houses. to link to a soul gem cloud storage chest. I am doing something like the video you showed for a raw food storage, using glass front shelf and then putting food items in each one. different ones for different areas of Skyrim (you don't get much fresh Horker meat in Falkreath, and there are not alot of deer in the far northern areas). Besides, like I said before, my brain is kind of out of wack and so my comprehension is shot all to hell. I even had to rewatch several part of the video to understand some of what he was talking about. I still have to test out what I did in the game to make sure it worked before I even know if I did it right.
  19. Thank you for the offer though, I appreciate it.
  20. Thank you so much. I have sent you a private message with the information. I really appreciate it.
  21. Do not...repeat, DO NOT, send me personal messages requesting mods. I only do mods I want to do, and right now my plate is pretty full. Even if I wanted to, I am terrible at the moment with scripting and quest alterations. And you know what, I enjoy the hell out of the DB quests. They are actually one of the few challenging parts of the game since you have to get your sneak skills correct and having the right timing if you don't want to get caught.
  22. so you want the perks without actually having to anything that makes you question your moral ideas. In that case, I will be as unhelpful as everyone else and say, tough. A big part of the game is consequences and learning to deal with them. Besides, she is kind of an ass to have to either bribe or persuade to get spiced wine through customs.
  23. well...there is always just not joining the Dark Brotherhood. I mean, you can just kill Astrid instead of one of the captives. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Destroy_the_Dark_Brotherhood!
  24. Look at Spouses Enhanced, you can get it for the Sexlab Framework at <blacklisted site name>...google it.
  25. Ok, so my many attempts at using nifscope have been...well...I can change textures. I have been trying to combine objects as I want to make a small chest full of soul gems for a custom soul gem container. But, no matter what I do, it never shows up correctly when I try to save it. Clearly I am doing something wrong. Unfortunately due to a little brain trouble I am having at the moment, my comprehension is crap, so before you tell me to go read a tutorial, I have. So many times. I have so many other projects on hold just because I cannot get my mind to understand the tutorials at the moment. This nif is just a tiny speedbump on my way to completing the mod I am currently working on which involves remodeling all the houses with custom cloud storage. most of the houses are done...or very close to done. I had the scripting finished before my brain went wonky. All the other stuff I needed I was able to do myself or get from resource packs. So if someone is interested in helping me out, with just this tiny thing, I would really appreciate it. Thank you
