  1. Personally I would absolutely NOT pay to access Skyrim mods or pay for mods at all. I would pay for a preassembled game with the mods I want that works on my computer, but def wouldn't pay a subscription fee or pay for mods. I paid for a premium membership on Nexus to support Nexus but that's about as far as I'd be willing to go considering how much trouble I've had getting modded Skyrim to work.
  2. Yeah I can see that could seem weird. It's not a guide I wrote but I should probably remove it from my sig at this point since some of the mods on there are on the dangerous mods list. I don't use the ones on the dangerous mod list and I try to follow step as best as I can. Perhaps SPERG should be added to the dangerous mods list. I will try again using the mods you are recommending. Going to try to keep it real simple. I've got a killer computer but I'm not going to install much graphics mods or anything. Thanks EDIT: BTW Athletics Training is on the dangerous mod list for the fact it uses constant scripts.
  3. Yeah, someone else can do it better than me as well although I've tried hard and not been lazy. Thus the willingness to pay and frustration enough to quit this crap forever. Yes, I agree Skyrim isn't worth more than ten bucks as is. However, I'd have payed much to have skiped the THOUSANDS of hours I spent trying to make it a worth while game. That aside, I'd be happy to check out a guide if you have it. You can see what mods interest me by checking out my sig links. Next I will try only using lighting mods and ENB for graphics and the minimum for difficulty mods. All I want is a Skyrim game that has superb night and day (dark nights needing torches etc) and great difficutly and gameplay. Frostfall and RND are necessary for me as is hunterborn/campfire. Sperg is also necessary for me as is at least a few others such as High Level enemies and Vigor. I'd pay for such because time is money and damn i spent way too much time on this. Despite being fried to the max, I'm willing to look at your guide and dedicate another dozen hours to trying it out.
  4. "No if's, no buts, not candy or nuts... Boy what a party we'd have!" A saying my 4th grade teacher used to say rofl... Wish in one hand, s#*! in the other... Nevertheless this thread begins... I spent a few bucks (35?) on this game on sale but spent THOUSAND of MF hours trying to mod it. THOUSANDS!!!! WTF? I know there's no if or butts, but the thing is... IF i could go back... I'D NEVER NEVER NEVER buy Skyrim again (haven't and will not buy another bethesda game since Skyrim). Reason being that I've spent thousands of hours trying to mod Skyrim and fken fail every time in the end. I'm so pissed (yet trying to be respectful in all Ernesty). I would have rather spent hundreds of dollars having someone make this game work for me than to have spent thousands of hours WASTED on this BS. How much would you have spent? I'd much rather have spent a few hundred bucks than to have spent THOUSANDS of hourse of my life. I would LOVE to be able to buy a premade setup of Skyrim that actually works rather than waste my goddam life. I did not buy fallout4 and will not buy another bethesda game because of this waste of time. You will find me contributing to many threads and being a very positive member of this community for the most part. This post is an attempt at honestly expressing my sincere frustration towards Skyrim and suggesting compliations be made/sold. Much love
  5. I'm a little late to the party, but these two threads may help. The first one is the main one, but you'll want to check if any of the mods are on the dangerous list before installing (second thread). My truly difficult modded Skyrim setup. Dangerous Mod List.
  6. Short of running Windows 7 in a dual boot you are screwed.... Review this thread https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4714530-windows-10-4gb-vram-limit/ What resolution are you running? Although I run most games in 4k, I have settled for running Skyrim in 1920x1080. I love Skyrim but hate it at the same time :/ Over a thousand hours of modding Skyrim and haven't gotten a single stable game going. Well one time I did but for some reason the DLC's were broken so ya, fail. I will check out the thread you pointed me to. Thanks.
  7. Hello, I'm running windows 8.1 and have a GTX Titan Black (6gb Graphics Card). I've been told that Skyrim will absolutely not be able to utilize the 6gb of my GPU even with ENB etc. Is there anyway I can get Skyrim to fully utilize my GPU on win8.1?
  8. I noticed Atheletic Training is now on the dangerous mod list. I love this mod though and the skills it adds are awesome. If this mod could be made safe again or another mod implementing the similar skills such as Water Sprinting, reduced lung damage, instant breathe catching, etc.
  9. Well 500-1000 hours of modding later, and no succeful setup, it's kind of rediculous. If I could go back in time I'd never touch Skyrim. All my sourness aside, I do truly appreciate your reply. Despite the fact that Skyrim has been the absolutely biggest waste of time in my gaming career, I will try again. Not cuz I like Skyrim that much (I'd rather have all my time back and never see another Bethesda game again if I could but I can't), but because I don't want to feel like I completely absolutely wasted about 1000 hours of my life. Again, thanks! Sincerely.
  10. Sorry I didn't include this info originally. I will remember that in the future. I'm running windows 8.1. The game CTD's after a few minutes of me loading the game just running around not doing anything particular. It seems to happen about 5 min into the game. The papyrus log has repeating errors about DSR so I was thinking maybe there's a prob with that mod. Unfortunately DSR is not a mod I can live without how ever. Was hoping someone could look at the error and be able to tell me how to fix it easy, but that might have been wishful thinking. Maybe it's not that easy to figure out.
  11. So I've got a pretty good game going on and when I first tested it, it was working great but then started getting this error and CTD. I'd really like to try to fix this issue rather than starting over modding Skyrim again. I've literally spent around 500-1000 hours modding Skyrim and still cannot get a good game going. Here's the papyrus log. It's at the end that the errors occur but I've included the whole thing inside the spoiler: Loadout: PC Specs:
  12. Skyquest, I do indeed start a new save everytime. Also, the load order I posted in the OP does include LL mods, but the game was tested before even one single LL mod was added and had the same problem with the DLC's. LL mods are always last for me as they are not necessary for good gameplay. They add a fun element to the game, but it's secondary to everything else.
  13. I like your point about not geting stuck in a rut and how to have a good experience. I'd still like to at least once play through the entire game including the DLC's in one playthrough with mods.
  14. load order? What do you mean? Oh, sorry. I was wondering if you could post your load order which worked all the way through the DLC and storyline :)
  15. All four of the patches (unofficial Skyrim, Hearthfire, Dragonborn, and Dawnguard) are 2.1.3b. I've tried this with several version of the patches in the past though, and the DLC's are always broken (used many dif combination of mods as well). It's been a good 3-6 months since I quit Skyrim (quit due the frustration of feeling like I wasted YEARS on the game) but it hasn't been that long. Seems I quit like right around the time USLEEP was coming out or a few months afterwards. I've downloaded it and will add it and test again my game next week on a new save, but I doubt it will fix DB DLC, even on a new game. Again I hope I'm wrong about this. I'd love for the DLC's to be fixed and for the game to finally, after years of trying, work. Also, I didn't mention my load order because I was trying to keep this general, but I will edit my OP to include my load order. You can see it there if you want. As an aside, one solution would be pretested mod compilations ready for download. I suggested this before and got shot down by many people but from a gamers point of view it really does make sense. I would have much rather downloaded a compilation of mods that works than having spent years modding this game to no avail. I love and hate Skyrim. Love it for all the obvious reasons and hate it cuz of how many THOUSANDS of hours I've spent (wasted) trying to get it to work like I want. I've come very close but the enjoyment still dissipated before my eyes when s*** is broken.
  16. I dunno what USLEEP is. I use TES5Edit for cleaning mods, but no idea how to use it to check what mod might be touching the DLC's in weird ways. THIS THREAD is what I used as a guide for difficulty mods this time, though I've tried other combinations as well. You don't use any difficulty mods? Any chance you could post your load order? EDIT: I looked up USLEEP. I have the Unofficial Skyrim and DLC patches, but do not use USLEEP. This is the first time I've heard of it.
  17. A lot of people who add lots of mods to Skyrim are not interested in actually playing the game all the way through. I, however, do want to play all the way through with a full load order. I've been experimenting with mods for years and still haven't found a combination that doesn't mess something up. I put over a hundred hours into my last game and the mods seemed to be working great! I played a ton of side quests, leveled up to level 100, played the main storyline til I got dragonrend, and then I decided it was time to do the dragonborn DLC. I had gotten the letter from the cultist but when I went to the boat to take me to Solstein no one would talk to me. Pressing E, or A (on xbox conroller) did not initiate any conversation like it was supposed to. Dragonborn is often a DLC that gets broken for me when modding. I've seen it get messed up in many ways on many modded skyrim builds. Dawnguard also gets messed up but it doesn't bother me as much because I don't play DG very often. I do however like to play DB every time I play the game. Anyways, anyone got ideas? Has anyone played all the way through DB DLC and the storyline with full mod load order and other mods with no problem? I've asked this question on other forums (dif web pages), and everyone says the DB and DG almost always get broken or something else in game gets broken. I've only ever found one person who claimed to have played all the way through the game including the DLC's with a full load order, but this person admited it took a lot of script editing and mod editing to get it done. Said an ordinary gamer would not have been able to do what he did. EDIT: Several people on Nexus are saying they've played all the way through Skyrim and DLC's with full load out with no problems, but I'm doubtful still (hoping to be proven wrong though). This is contrary to what I've heard on other forums. If you have really played all the way through with a full(ish) load order and still have said load order available for viewing, please post your load order so I can try to replicate or check vs my load orders. I've specifically not included my load order because I want this to be general, but if you have something that works, that's specific enough to warrant a full load order post. If I can get some load orders that work I'll spend some more months modding and trying to figure out where I went wrong. PLEASE post any working load orders you might have if they are FULL load outs and work with full Skyrim game PLUS DLC's! Also, you may notice some adult mods in my list, but I assure you I tested this setup BEFORE adding even one single LL/adult mod and the result is exactly the same as it is now, with the adult mods... DLC's are broken. So please don't just comment on the fact that there's adult mods. I didn't even mean to post the load order with adult mods, and didn't mean to mention LL on this thread at all because I didn't want to take away from solving the problem of finding ANY full load order that works. I've already posted on the LL forums and they say the DLC's are always getting broken and the only person who did a full playthrough had done tons of mod editing and script editing to make it work (stuff your average gamer is not gunna be able to do). Had left out my load order originally in the interest of keeping this thread general, but here's my load order in case anyone wants to see it or is curious... LOAD ORDER: EDIT: I tested this Load Order without the LL mods too, and had the same problem with the DLC's. Also, I always test on a new save. No one posted any load orders of load outs that work. Makes me skeptical that a good one exists. Thanks for all the replies though.
  18. I still endorse this combination of mods that is suggested but after some more testing I noticed that the DLC's are broken. Both DB and DG.
  19. Anyone know what happened to Lord Garon? Says he was banned. Not complaining, just wondering. I liked him a lot and he helped me a lot.
  20. I've got the best Skyrim setup I've ever had with this suggested combination of difficulty mods. Thanks a lot VRam for doing this. I have tried a lot of combinations but this is my favorite. Very difficult the way I set it up but I like that. If it's too hard for someone, it's configurable in the MCM to make things more tolerable/easier. I prefer just to make up for the extra difficulty by getting enough followers to have my back or creating strong enough weapons/leveling up skills rather than toning down the difficulty in the MCM myself, but to each his/her own. This combination works well! VRam did something that needs to be done more often by making this thread. I still think different graphics as well as gameplay combinations should be made but this is great. Got some great footage of me in my first epic dragon fight with this setup. I may be able to upload it sometime to share but I'm on freekin Hughesnet where I live, sucky internet D:. Anyways thanks again. I may bump this thread with a 200+ mod loadorder or with a video in the future  EDIT 2: Ok, now I'll post my load order. I'm going to post my load order that is working well for me and my basic PC specs. 228 Mods there and it's working like a charm! My game doesn't crash at all! Well, not more than vanilla Skyrim anyways. I can play for 8 hours straight no crash. In the literal hundreds of hours I've played Skyrim with this Skyrim Setup, it's maybe crashed once or twice. I can play for weeks with out it crashing!!!! PC specs: Active Mod Files: EDIT 3: As my post below says, something is actually broken in my game now.
  21. I configured in the MCM menu the alternate magic for left and right (nippl magic). The problem is that my character still raises her arms like she's casting from her hands while she's casting from her nips (is the full word allowed to be said here?). It doesn't make sense. Is there a way to get her to put her arms down or do the floating magic nip animation? Or do i need to download from the unsaid place to get that version?
  22. Ah yeah that's smart. Will remember to search by date if I encounter similar problem. Also going to backup entire Skyrim setup before messing with nifskope and outfit studio again, just in case. I'm taking a few days off from trying to learn modding/editing but I will get back on it later this week or this weekend.
  23. I uninstalled then deleted the 2 Terra mods and then reinstalled them. Game still crashes putting on castaic cuirrass now, even on a new game. :/ I have no idea what other files were edited that could be causing the CTD now. I used nifskope and outfit studio to edit the _0 and _1 nifs and the slider only. Deleting those files and putting new files to replace them didn't fix anything. Yes I used loot, bodyslide, tes5edit, sum.jar and fnis after reinstalling the mods and yes, it still CTD's when equiping the cuirass I edited... Editing an armor even slightly and still having it work with bodyslide is proving to be quite the task. Perma damaged my game appearantly :/
