  1. i don't have any of the civil war or disguise mods running. I am very far into a playthrough and don't want to start over. when i first started the game i wasn't having this problem and i have no idea what started it. all jarls and guards from every faction attack with out any dialog. how do i check what faction i currently belong to?
  2. So, every where I go, all the guards and Jarls attack me. I have no bounty, and using the paycrimegold, or setcrimegold console commands do not help. Even once I managed to get into jail, the guards opened the jail door and came into my cell and killed me immediately after the jail cell loaded. my game is pretty broken right now because of this. has anyone had this happen to them before? Here's my load order:
  3. I've been using ESET and find it better than AVG, Norton, McAffe, and all the free ones. ESET is a fantastic AV from my experience. Glad I read this post though, going to check out malwarebytes.
  4. I reinstalled WryeBash, LOOT, and NMM to the same directories I installed them to on my previous OS. I'm not sure what to do about bodyslide, and FNIS though. Will try just throwing my SETUP into the fray now and test if bodyslide and FNIS works.
  5. I have had great success with your system (manually renaming the folders rather than symlinks tho) of SETUPs. I've been able to switch back and forth between SETUPs and back things up nicely but now I've come accross a situation where I don't know how to proceed. I reinstalled windows (decided to go back to win7, f*** win8.1). What I don't know is if I need to reinstall all the programs, specifically: NMM, Wrye Bash, L00t, Bodyslide, Tes5edt, and any others that I can't think of atm, before I copy my old SETUP's to the common folder. There's a fresh Steam install of Skyrim on my computer, but it's still vanilla and none of the forementioned programs are installed. If I just copy all my backups, will that install the programs for me, and will windows (7) recognize that the programs are installed if I dn't go through a "normal" installation process, and instead just copy all the hard files for said programs from my backups? I hope I stated my question very clearly. Thanks in advance :)
  6. well, win7 to win8.1 is NOT an upgrade for a desktop. I had win 8.1 pro installed on my pc for about 6 months. it's just not as solid as win7 altho i love some of the features of 8 like built in virtual drives and the faster boot time, the way it handles multiple download, and downloading in general. but win7 is more solid and stable. i decided to forgoe the things i like about win 8.1 for the stability of win7 a couple months ago, and I'm so happy i changed back to win7.
  7. I am currently researching the best ways I can record my gameplay when playing games. My Skyrim game setup is quite insane (lots of stressful mods) but my PC is pretty good. Skyrim isn't the only game I want to record so I'm looking for advice on programs or hardware to help me record my PC gameplay. I'm looking for a variety of options. It might be possible for me to start with Shadowplay for some games but probably not going to cut it for Skyrim with all my mods, or some other 4k games I play. Though I guess I don't really need to record above 1080p even if I'm playing in 4k. I'd even consider building a secondary computer in the future to act as a recording machine if it meant I could record ANYTHING I did on my PC with no Lag and without stressing my primary PC. Could buy that Lian Li case (the 600 or 8000 i think it was) that supports two builds in one case. I'm thinking a hardware solution rather than just a software solution will provide good quality, but I'm open to opinions on both. Any good tips on how to record my various consoles (PS and XBOX specifically) will be appreciated, but I really need to focus on and accomplish figuring out how to get good quality footage and audio from my PC for now. Thank you all. Loving the nexus forums. MY PC SPECS:
  8. i believe there was a bow i had once that did like 40k damage. forget what mod loaded it into my game and what it was called though. What's the most powerful weapon you know of? I'd like one or two super weapons for destroying annoying enemies once in a while or to help me breeze through a quest i'm redoing due to a CTD or a bug etc. thanks in advance :)
  9. i have razor naga and love it. i also have a logitech g19 and g13 as well. if you could only get one I'd think the keyboard would be more useful, but the razor naga is a great product in my opinion as an owner and user of said product.
  10. what is the max the block sizes can be increased to, and please, where do i edit the block sizes? I have 6gb VRAM (titan black), and 16gb memory. it's a work in progress for me learning how to get the most out of my system in skyrim. it's the one thing i truly hate about skyrim.
  11. Read the links in my sig. Well, read the first two anyways. I was gunna make some suggestions but with out knowing what kind of PC you have I don't want to give advice.
  12. Something happened where I was unable to loot the body of the cultist who attacks and initiates the dragonborn questlines. To get around this I simply added the item through console command, and I did get the quest when I added the item. When I get to the docks in windhelm however, the guy (forget his name, he's the guy that takes u from Skyrim to the island) has the quest marker arrow over his head, but I cannot initaite any dialog with him, and therefor am unable to progress in the questline and cannot get on the boat to get to the island at all. Anyone ever had this happen before? When I first got to windhelm I was experiencing massive CTD by the docks, but after an hour or so of troubleshooting managed to (barely) get to the boat, only to be disappointed in not getting a ride to the dragonborn island. considering i got the glitch with the clutist before getting to windhelm, I don't think the CTD has anything to do with the glitch but i thought i'd mention it anyways.
  13. you can just uninstal and reinstall it from steam. after you do that though, backup your hard files so that you won't have to reinstall it any more, just overwrite the files. can check the guide in my sig.
  14. <3 Tenacious D!! I dunno how many people would appreciate such a mod but I would certainly give it a try.
  15. RealVision ENB is a great ENB and the author has included a good recommended list of graphics mods to go with it. Depending on your pc build you can install some higher and lower texture options to accommodate your system. Read both the links in my sig and you will learn how to ask for help on here, because you didn't give enough info to get more help, and the guide is what you asked for.
  16. RealVision ENB and it's roccomended mods are good. RealVision has a fantasy version and a realism version. Both are good.
  17. try using console commands to activate the perks.
  18. really fun video to watch. thanks! what program do you use to record your play sessions?
  19. i have 3gb 760 and use realvision enb with most of the recomended mods (not all 4k) plus many other texture and game play mods etc
  20. bookmarked for future reference. well done.
  21. damn dude nice build. hella nice gpu. unfortunately the sli won't help with skyrim. i just bought a triple x oc r9 290 for 280 bucks tho cuz i do wanna run skyrim on a 4g graphics card. a lot of people will argue that 4g isn't necessary and they are right. but it's also true that you definitely can pimp out skyrim with a 4g card. try the rv enb link i gave you in my first post here. you should be able to smash skyrim with your rig
