Jeez... in my school, anyone that picked on someone who was disabled was immediately excommunicated from everyone else, and labeled a "massive (insert horrible descriptive noun here)" for the rest of the time they were at that school. Heck there was a kid who made fun of someone in a wheelchair for not being able to walk since birth, and he (the bully) actually transferred to a different school because everyone hated him since that day. Good riddance, I say.

So, in a way, you were actively (and knowingly) participating in a form of bullying. Not that they didn't get what they deserved, it just seems that "an eye for an eye" is not the right thing to to in a situation like that. As for being bullied... I've taken martial arts since I was 8 years old, which helped me practice self-discipline. If someone was making fun of me (or "verbal bullying"), I would sit there for a minute, analyze what they said, and either respond as if it were a normal conversation, or just looked at them until they went away. In high school, a prominent bully from middle school came up to me one day, and I was expecting a long drawn-out stare-down, but he actually walked up to me and apologized for being a jerk all those years ago. I always find it really odd to see someone you know visibly mature over the years. It's nice, but odd, nonetheless. Good grief... I feel old. :ohdear: Reason for edit: Grammatical error fixed

If I remember my history correctly, I believe something similar happened a while back, and look how that turned out.

I'm not talking about Skyrim specifically, just the ES series overall. As TES has branched out it's audience base, radical changes have been made to it. My point is not that Skyrim is not an RPG; my point is that after something is re-hashed to death, it loses it's uniqueness, and it just becomes another one of those, "which one in the franchise is this?" All good things must come to an end.

Admittedly, I did find the attitude of the speakers to be a little bit "conspiracyesque," but their argument holds up, nonetheless. If the government can legally watch us in public (an we know we're being watched, that is), that will lead to lots of civil unrest (yes, even more). And that pretty much is the headline of the entire internet already. Liberal? Sure, I'll buy it. Communist? Ehhh.... it's debatable. Terrorist? I know you have strong feelings against President Obama, but still, man. Now, before you argue that he "terrorizes" the citizens of other countries (i.e. deploys troops, declares war, etc.), it is the job of the President of the United States of America to make decisions such as these. Oh, Romney. You are a millionaire who is living with old ideals; which, be the way, may get you places, but not very far, which is definitely not what this country needs. This ^ line is pretty much what every single candidate in the history of the U.S has stated. Again, paired with the same thing as Gingrich; except this time it's full of (or lack thereof) no promises or new ideas. A good friend of mine once proposed a method of presidential election; put all of the candidates in a dark room with a knife in the middle. Come back after 36 hours, and the survivor gains the Presidency. I pointed out to him that no one would survive, as all of that hot air would cause them to suffocate. Elder Scrolls: VR. Who knows? Only time will tell. The one thing I don't want is for the ES series to turn into a fantasy action game (a la Mass Effect 2). Please keep my ES games in the RPG format, thank you very much. I've been getting a vibe ever since Skyrim came out; when does something have too many sequels? Some of the worlds most memorable games are memorable because of just that: there were very few of them. If you have multiple products that are so similar, they start to lose their uniqueness (a la Call of Duty/ Every multiplayer FPS game within the last 10 years; regenerating health, chest-high walls, etc.). Oh, and it's 7 atoms across, not one. That would be impossible to create. Cheers, IndorilTheGreat

What is it with Obama's face during speeches?
IndorilTheGreat replied to SubjectProphet's topic in Debates
Good grief... The amount of side debates in the thread is astronomical. As for the strange look on Obama's face, I have yet to see it. It's entirely possible that I look away just when it happens. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it as my curiosity has been piqued. -
Diablo 3; first impressions and experiences.
IndorilTheGreat replied to Vindekarr's topic in PC Gaming
Ditto. My buddy has it pre-ordered, simply because it has the Diablo name. I tried to explain to him why I don't like this sort of DRM, but he just wouldn't have any of it. I played the Beta, and I got bored after my first play through (admittedly, playing it was quite fun). I think I'll just stick to Titan Quest. -
They're pretty cool, I must admit. Video game time lapses are always interesting, I think. Just as a heads up, "Bumping" is not allowed on the Nexus Forums. Otherwise, (and I quote), "the first page would be nothing but, bump, bump, bump."

I would personally like to see an event occur between Black Marsh and Morrowind. The Dunmer enslaved the Argonians, and when the 4th Era rolled around, the Argonians decided to take revenge. It would be quite interesting to see how that pans out. Edit: On second thought, it would be interesting to visit Elsweyr. The desert aspect of that really appeals to me for some reason.

Main character: Vance, the male Dunmer sorcerer (heavy armor and spells). Alternate character: Mia, the female Bosmer hunter (light armor and bows). "Test" character: Petrus, the male Nord pilgrim (shout-based, robed character).

Interesting... I used to have premonitions when I was younger. They would usually happen anywhere from 5 seconds to 5 minutes before the actual event happened, but the event always happened as I had seen it. Perhaps it is simply a case of using extremely precise logic, or maybe our brain can interpret different wavelengths of the EM spectrum when certain conditions are met. Maybe we're even getting brief glimpses of different outcomes of the "infinite universes" running parallel to our own. I guess we'll never really know for sure. As for the dream, try not to let your "emotional brain" take over. Think logically, otherwise your emotional and logical brain will try to work together, and that usually never has good results. They're like oil and water; they just don't mix.

I see what you are getting at. However, you can't deny that ADD/ADHD is indeed a real thing, and not some sort of conspiracy. While it is true that health insurance can lead to moral hazards and a higher demand for treatment of the slightest ailment, that does not mean that doctors and parents are working to turn their children into mindless thralls. I could not focus in school (legitimately) nor could I focus on other things either. I think it's safe to say that I do indeed have a chemical deficit going on somewhere. However, since this is not a debate thread, I will leave it there. Good luck with your class, OP!

Done. My cousin has Autism, and a couple of my friends have Asbergers Syndrome. While they may sometimes be difficult to talk with, we sure do have some deep and intellectual conversations. I'm sensing a (somewhat) double standard in your post. You first claim that you don't have ADHD, as you are not bouncing off the walls (a stereotype), and then you go on to say that just because someone lacks social skills, doesn't mean they have a brain chemistry issue (very true). A good friend of mine has ADHD, and he can sit still for hours reading. Sure he has lots of energy, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything, right? I have been tested positive for ADD (which I believe I am), and I for one am thankful for it. While it is indeed possible that you have been misdiagnosed (which seems to happen an awful lot more these days), I don't think that they would immediately say that you have ADHD or Autism simply because you were a jerk as a child.

Yeah, it took me quite a while to get used to the controls. Unfortunately something can't run on "pure" Newtonian physics without a supercomputer (even then, it's not even close to a "1:1" ratio). However, the overall system is based on the concepts and general laws of Newtonian physics. But enough of that. I'm excited for the upcoming expansion; upgraded cockpits, sharper-looking planets, better cities, and walkers! Cheers, IndorilTheGreat

So, I picked up this great game titled Evochron Mercenary back in January. It's one of those space-sim games, and so I was reluctant to try it at first, as I had been burned by similar titles in the past. However, I played the demo and instantly fell in love. It's based around Newtonian physics, has virtually the entire Milky Way galaxy to explore, and smooth planetary descent (did I mention that you can land on any planet you can find?) It also has a multiplayer campaign, something that made me love it even more. If I were to describe it to someone, I would say it's the equivalent of Mount & Blade, but in space. I've been playing it off and on for the past several months, and I'm about to start up again now that college (Uni, etc.) is coming to a close, and I'm curious if anyone else around here played it. Space is big, after all, and it can get pretty lonely out there sometimes. Cheers, IndorilTheGreat

"I never asked for this..." - Adam Jensen, Deus Ex: Human Revolution "So you must be...'Quilt-Man'...'Padded Pete'...'Mister Triple-Ply?' Oh! I got it! 'The Cushion!'" - Spider-Man/Peter Parker speaking to "Shocker", Spider-Man (2002 game) "It's alright Rosh, you didn't (offend me). I've been offended by professionals." - Kyle Katarn, Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy "Retraction: Did I say that out loud? I apologize, master. While you are a meatbag, I suppose I should not call you as such." - HK-47, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic This last one isn't so much of a quote, but more of a conversation: Master Chief: "How much firepower would it take to crack one of the engine's shields?" Cortana: "Not much. A well-placed grenade perhaps, but why-" **Master Chief is tossing fragmentation grenade up and down in his hand** Cortana: "Okay. I'm coming with you." - The Master Chief and Cortana, Halo: Combat Evolved

Yep. Skylon. I'm excited to see just how well it works. The heat exchanger in itself is fascinating. Sorry. My engineer is showing again, isn't it? :geek:

A week in on my first real job ever my boss laid one of his grubby little paws on my rear end. Needless to say, he ended up on the floor with a bleeding gash on his face (I slammed a stapler right into his forehead 8) ). Heh... a friend of mine was in a similar situation. She worked as a waitress, and when she went to pour this guy some coffee, he groped her butt. So, she "spilled" a pot of hot coffee all over his lap.

Very cool. I'll have to check out the video some time. Hopefully it will be posted up somewhere on the internet. My hopes are that we are finally advancing towards more effective and quick means of travel.
