If you want to discuss the differences between men and women, create a thread in the debates area. This is a fantasy world, where the normal laws of physics do not apply. The female Nords in the ES universe have always been aggressive and strong; like the shield-maidens in old Norse folklore. While it is true that men have been involved in more violent acts over the course of history (i.e. war, hunting, etc) due to the way their muscles develop (more arm and leg strength), this does not mean that women are not able to do so; especially in a fantasy environment. So, like I have said in my opening line; it is a fantasy game. Normal rules do not apply.

I always start out with a male character in my games (unless the main character is indeed female). It's just easier for me to relate to. However, when I play it for a second time, I create a female character. Why, you ask? Because, as Herculine stated above: a woman's bum is much more pleasant on the eyes (to me) than watching Conan the Barbarian do deep squats.

I for one am kind of glad the way elves look now. I'm glad they brought back the black eyes for the Bosmer. Although, I'm not too sure why that option is there for the human races... And please, before someone accuses me as a "Morrowind Fan" (which I am, just not a fanboy), please take into consideration that just because I like the way elves looked in Morrowind, does not mean by any stretch of the imagination that is the "correct" way they should look. Everyone has their own opinion, and I would greatly appreciate it if all these accusations of "Morrowind Fanboyism" would cease to exist. It's still an ES game. People should not be separated into different "social classes" based on their favorite game.

What does the above user's signature say about them?

Battlestar Galactica is awesome. I've been watching that recently. Also, Dexter is a good one, if you like dark humor. Spartacus: Blood and Sand (also known as Spartacus: Vengeance) is great. It's quite gory and it contains several adult themes (nudity, sexual themes, death, etc.), but it has a great story behind it. And if you just feel like having fun, Doctor Who is the way to go.

Try disabling CrossfireX in your AMD Catalyst Control Center (if you're using an AMD card, that is). It fixed it for me. -
Multimediakeys for volume change

I have also found that if you Alt-Tab back into Skyrim, you get the black screen (as you described above). However, I also found that if you are on that black screen, and Alt-Tab and select Skyrim again, it goes back into the game. It seems a bit quicker to me. Just pointing out some friendly tips. Edit:I'm not trying to come off as arrogant or anything. It seems that I caught a minor case of strep-throat on Thursday (worst possible time to get it  ), and my head feels like it's going to pop. My language skills are not on the top of my list right now. -
Could someone clue me in? Steam... Serously...

Am I the only person still waiting for Skyrim?
IndorilTheGreat replied to rela82me's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Man you haven no idea, I took a nap at 3:30 and I woke up thinking "It must be like 6:30".... it was 4 :/ too anxious to sleep... I was up all night last night in the hospital and I thought I would take a nice nap so I can stay up ALL night to play some skyrim! Still waiting here. I'm heading over to Gamestop at midnight, I am (unsuccessfully) attempting to do my homework, but I'm just too darn excited. Myself and a few buddies of mine are setting up in a classroom (no class tomorrow), and having a potluck sort of thing. If I may ask (don't mean to be rude), why were you in the hospital last night? -
I can see that last bit was directed at me. I wasn't "generalizing." I am aware that the vast majority of feminist groups are calm and level headed. I was not implying that all women behave this way, and I most certainly did not "generalize" the female population. That would be like me saying that all men are insensitive jerks, which is far from the truth. I'm not trying to come off as hostile here, I just wish to assure you (and everyone), that I do not base a whole population by a small percentage. That would just be silly.

I agree with you 100%. I think that it is absolutely ridiculous that anyone should be treated on a level below anyone else. I was also raised in a family where understanding is a part of life. I'm not quite sure what your friend meant when he said, "you are encouraging her." Perhaps he had the idea that she would suddenly develop a radical feminist personality overnight, looking down on people that were not like her (which is extremely unlikely to happen). This leads me to my next point, however. I am all for equal rights. I find it preposterous that anyone should be treated as a "lesser being" (animals included; they are living as well, but that is a whole different debate, so I won't start it here). However, it always irks me a bit when there are feminist parties calling for "equal opportunity." Over time, women have made wonderful progress towards equal rights. But that is just it; the "feminist extremists" (if you could call them that), go far above and beyond the issue of equal rights, and put men on the chopping block. I can speak from personal experience. I was at the local fair, and there was a small group of women wearing T-Shirts with a slogan on them, handing out pamphlets. As I got closer, I realized that it was a small-scale feminist rally. I had been curious as to why some feminist groups are so assertive with their ideals, and so I went over and politely asked one of the members how they plan on proposing their argument. Almost immediately, she began to yell and rant at me about how I was a pig of a man, a slob, and questioning my heritage in general. Soon, two or three more of them joined in, and the overall atmosphere was quite hostile. I genuinely feared for my life. After I managed to extract myself from the situation, the (presumable) organizer of the protest came over and apologized to me for the behavior of her fellow protesters, explaining that many of them were new to "the scene" (still not quite sure what that meant), and had some rather intense feelings about men. Sorry. That turned into a rant, and I did not intend for it to do so. Just my two-cents on feminism. It is a wonderful idea, but not when it puts the lives of others at risk. Edit: Sorry for the edit. I had to edit out a word. It seems that I did not even catch myself typing it. That, and I saw a few spelling and grammatical errors that bugged me. I did not change my opinion in any way.

Just as a heads up, the YouTube link to my channel that you posted in the OP seems to be partial. Thanks again for the effort you have put into this thread.

Yeah you can not do that legally last I herd, all of the games store bought or net bought will force you to bend over and install steam. If your talking illegally then that is a quick way to get you banned on this site. Now, now. Let's not jump to conclusions. In all seriousness though, I think they meant installing it from the disk (while needing steam), rather than downloading all 6.5 GB from Steam. I for one am glad that I don't need to worry about downloading the entire thing from Steam. My internet connection is crap.

The votes seem to be going the way I was planning on making a character, with a few minor differences.

Sorry! I noticed a little spelling error in my poll ("Alter" rather than "Altmer." It's fixed now, though  ). Interesting results so far... I will probably create a character with the current results for my Bloodmoon LP tomorrow, but I'll leave the poll up until Friday at 12:00 AM. Ah. It seems that I forgot an option for good or evil... Edit: Took care of it. The option for Chaotic Evil is in the third poll question. Sorry for the late addition. Edit #2: Never mind. I'm taking those options out. They just add too much confusion to the poll, and I will not end up getting an accurate reading.

Hello! I'm planning on doing a Let's Play of Skyrim the night it is released (caffeine induced game-play; awesome :P ). I'm making this poll, as I know what type of character I want to play, but I am curious as to what type of character people would be interested in seeing me play? As you can see, you have the choice of gender, race and class. You also have the choice of what type of "class" I should play. The descriptions of the choices are included in the poll option. I'm curious as to what type of character will get the most results. I will be posting my videos on my YouTube channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/IndorilTheGreat?feature=mhum (I'm going to do an LP of Bloodmoon to get in the mood first). Cheers, IndorilTheGreat

Let's see... 8:00 AM - Wake up, shower, and get ready for the day. 9:00 AM - Get some breakfast from the school cafeteria (they only serve hot breakfast on Tuesdays and Thursdays - Biscuits and Gravy FTW). 10:00 AM - Go to class for an hour. 11:00 AM go to class for two hours. 1:00 PM - Get some lunch. 1:30 PM - Go to class for another two hours. 3:30 PM - Kick back and relax for about half an hour. 4:00 PM - Finish portion of a project that needs to get done. 5:00 PM - Go out to eat a massive meal before I get set up. 6:30 PM - Go to grocery store and stock up on hand food and caffeinated beverages (I haven't had caffeine in a week and a half, so it's going to hit me like a truck). 7:30 PM - Get my area set up for hours of playing. 8:00 PM - Spend time with other people, because as soon as midnight hits, my social life is over. 10:00 PM - Go to the local GameStop, meet my buddy there, and get excited with the other people waiting. 11:30 PM - The employees will probably bring the games out from the back just to tantalize us. 11:45 PM - Make sure that my spot is secure in the line. 11:59 PM - Longest minute of my life. 12:00 AM (11/11/11 - Get P.O.ed at Gamestop, because they will probably not release the game until 12:01 just to be on the safe side. 12:01 AM (11/11/11) - Get my game and leg it out of the store. 12:15 AM (11/11/11) - Get set up and prepare my mic and my area for a night full of caffeine induced awesomeness.

Skyrim and Steam? Noob questions incoming...
IndorilTheGreat replied to moho25's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
It sounds like you have already decided. In all seriousness, I would say go for it. I have several single player games on Steam, and all of them run fine (with the exception of one; but that is my own fault. I failed to do research before I bought the game and learned that it doesn't like to work with ATI cards...) Anyways, Steam isn't going to harm your computer. Sure, it uses up about 35-40 MB of RAM when you are using it, but Google chrome uses an average of 250 MB. I think that most people are freaking out over Steam, because of the whole issue with Sony and EA Origins. It seems that they have (unfortunately) put a bad taste in everyone's mouth regarding these things. -
I'm 19 years old. Give me two more months and I'll soon be changing my vote.

Alright. I'll think about what kind of character to make. Perhaps I will make a poll on the forums here. I'll do that tomorrow, though. It is far too late right now, and I need my sleep. :)

Dual Wielding on PC - control schemes
IndorilTheGreat replied to Nebrule's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I have been wondering about this myself. I suppose that our brains will simply reconfigure themselves to the new controls if the latter is indeed the case (just like every time you switch games; different controls = different way your brain functions). I guess we will just have to wait and see. Only 9 more days.
