  1. Here's a thought, if someone gets someone into posting for them, do they win? Or does the person who posted on their behalf win?
  2. The way I see it, humanity has either one of three ends, it will either die as any other species does, or we will evolve until we are no longer the same as we are now, or we will somehow continue humanity's constant struggle despite all odds regardless of how small it may be. I feel this stage in our existence, the stage we begin to take evolution into our own hands, will be the most monumental and difficult hurdle humanity has ever faced, and if we fail to wrangle all that has held us back, we will only guarantee our people will fade into the voids of time alone. The first step is to define what makes us human? Is it our physiology? Or is it our 'human nature'? In the end, I feel that what makes us human is our culture, our stories, our art. The different ways in which we express ourselves, and our freedom in our ability to do so, and I feel that without that, we simply wouldn't be ourselves. The way I see it, If we preserve that part of us, whether we are simply bio-mechanical beings or sentient code living within a simulated reality intertwined across a quantum network of computers spanning galaxies, Humanity will have never truly died, as our ability to dream, our desire to persevere, to explore and experience existence itself will still live within us. The second step would simply getting us there, however I can imagine that will be much easier said than done. I feel that human nature itself will be our most monumental and difficult challenge we will face. I see human nature as a outdated philosophy that served us well during the age of scarcity, when stealing your neighbors food had a tangible difference between life and death, when having morals and laws would simply hold back ones ability to survive. Nowadays, that is rarely the case. We produce enough food to feed the planet, yet people still starve. We would have more than enough to give to everyone, but a primal addiction to acquiring more and more will simply destabilize and disable any attempt at global cooperation. We could simply throw down all of our weapons and stop fighting, but someone whether out of fear of being attacked first, or a warmongering passion to destroy would take advantage of that peace. Those parts of our mind, our human nature, in an era where our power as a species is growing almost exponentially, is slowly showing further and further its liability to ourselves. Speaking as a hopeless optimist, I feel that we can somehow find the perfect balance. One in which we shed that ugly part of our nature somehow, we destroy the part of us that compels so many of ourselves to deception, to chaos, to endless and insatiable greed. While keeping that curious, cooperative, and expressive side of us intact. I'd like to think that there can come a day, where we still make stories like star wars, or fallout, fictional worlds complex and full of complex motivations, where human nature exists, not as a reality, but as a memory, a memory that we use to better ourselves and expand ourselves, just a we always have. A world where we can live and grow not driven by materials and egos, but driven by a desire to experience, explore, and grow. We would still have and develop weapons, but we wouldn't use them on ourselves, but to defend ourselves against those who would harm us. Transhumanism could bring us all of that, but we'd need to pierce the veil, we'd need to find a way to make it work; and I shudder to imagine a world created, where the expansion of technology never breaks free of that ugly side of ourselves, where our desire to control, acquire, and oppress lies unchecked.
  3. That my friend is called Percussive maintenance. It has it's occasional place in making things work again Personally, I try to avoid getting angry, because it only tends to make things worse. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is that I managed to condition myself to not have nightmares. Basically, any time I woke up from a nightmare, generally caused by a monster, demon, overly frisky clown, etc. I would basically go straight back to sleep, then for a short moment, I would be dreaming lucidly, I would proceed to turn whatever fear I had into pure fury and I beat the snot out of whatever caused me ire. Eventually, I lost my ability to feel fear in my dreams, just mild discomfort, regardless if I'm physically able to fight back.
  4. I'm afraid you must live in the 10th circle of hell my friend, a place that has a limited variety of quality sandwich ingredients... Here is a question, is a hot dog a sandwich?
  5. *runs in room* *Presses the big red "I win" button* *Runs out of the room*
  6. Spider solitaire... It's simple, straight to the point, keeps me busy/interested no matter how much I play it, just a great game.
  7. I'm playing fallout 4 a bit recently, tried getting into back into OG Skyrim, but the setup got me. TOO...MANY...MODS...
  8. I didn't play any prior MGS games, and I kinda understood everything that was going on. However, I hear that three, then peace walker, then ground zeroes has most of the story stuff relevant to the phantom pain. They uploaded all the relevant story stuff to youtube if you don't want to spend the time/money getting the games/setup to prepare for the game.
  9. What mod are you looking at exactly? I haven't modded Morrowind before, however if it is like the other bethesda games (which I have casually modded for years). Then the game missing a masterfile either means, that you are missing a required mod, the required mods are not placed into the proper directory, or the load order is messed up. I would first check the mod page, see if it needs anything you haven't already put in, and make sure those required mods are in the right places, then simply make sure that the mod in question is loaded AFTER any mods it requires. So, I reinstalled morrowind, so I could plug it into the NMM, the installation is pretty standard, if you need any help with making the NMM work, just let me know and I can help you figure that stuff out. I personally find the NMM to be a super useful tool in managing things, such as load order and such, and I would recommend learning how to use it when you have some spare time.
  10. Just saw the new It movie. I found they did a really good job at bringing the Steven King story to the movie, they did a good job fleshing out the characters, and making you invested in their struggle against a supernatural demon clown. I never once found myself disinterested in the film, even when it pulled out the old jump scare routine. I had my doubts about the new Pennywise, but after seeing him in action I feel he is quite a worthy successor to the Tim Curry version. All in All, I really like it, you should see it if you're looking for a good scary movie.
  11. I hate that I spend 5 million hours modding the game, play it for like 20 minutes, then spend another 5 million hours looking into more mods. I eventually delete the save and start over because I need to remove a mod with scripts to get another with different scripts, I never actually beat fallout 4 as a result, and I'm forced to reply the first few missions over and OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
  12. I don't like anything... *sweeps hair back and sits in shadows* ...screw that, it's lonely there. What do I like... I like horrible puns, like the kind that makes people cringe. I like good food and drink with a healthy bit of variety, some healthy dishes, some not. I like walking around in circles outside, helps me think/relax. I like overcast days around 50 degrees fahrenheit, with some light wind, and a bit of rain here and there. Thats a perfect day in my book. I like cold showers. I like.............uhhhhh.......should put some moar stuff.....tekken.......haven't played any tekken games in like 10 years....but i liked it then...
  13. I'll kinda in the middle with american cheese, I just don't find it has any depth to the flavor, so in many instances there is another cheese that can do it's job better. I'd say American cheese probably goes best on grilled cheeses, hot dogs, hamburgers, or some other kind of hot sandwich. In other news, I've been wanting to try egg salad sandwiches, but I have no clue what to put on it. The egg salad kinda seems lonely on the bread, I tired adding salt and pepper to it, but it still feels like it's missing something that would make it truly special. Does anyone have any ideas?
  14. I ban alex2avs for hypocrisy, he invented an additional rule saying one cannot invent additional rules. Ni!
  15. Next thing I knew, somebody was pouring gas onto my geothermal generator. SABOTAGE!!!! Using the fresh new snow I made from hours of grinding and chiseling, I make a snowball and throw it at them.
  16. You know, I just decided to look up what exactly kraft cheese singles are. Apparently the actual cheese content is under 51%, so by law they must call it a "pasteurized cheese product". There's a place down town that has a burger with bleu cheese, hot sauce, and some other stuff. I generally don't like bleu cheese, but that burger was really good.
  17. After being coated in soft frosty snow, I decide to take the opprotunity and be the only person to make a snowangel in the warm month of september. But alas, when I was done, there was too little snow to make ammunition out of...What I tried to ball up simply melted in my hands...I couldn't tell the difference between the snow in my hands, and my tears... Then...an IDEA... I retreat to my giant evil lair, made of.... well it WAS made of snow and ice, but all that melted, so it's been reduced to a giant pile of mostly broken furniture and pipes, I squeeze my way under various pieces of debris until I find the spot where my kitchen was, the plumbing was surprisingly undamaged in the whole ordeal, but the sink was still suspended 8 feet off the ground, I grab the couches, and the drawers, I pile them up until I can get to the sink, with (relatively) easy access to water I go to the next part of my plan I went to the store, bought a family tent, an industrial grade air conditioner, and a bunch of drywall. I then made a giant jury-rigged freezer, I then started loading up tupperware containers, pots and pans, anything that could hold Ice with water and loading them into my freezer. I go on my computer which I've already salvaged from my wreckage, and order a bunch of ice grinders. IF THE SNOW DOESN'T COME FROM THE SKY, I WILL MAKE IT!!!
  18. One day, somebody will post, and they will think nothing of it. However, they will come back looking to reclaim their position, but realized nobody has bothered to take their position. So they wait. Hours turns into days, and before they know it two weeks have passed. They wonder, am I going to win? Am I truly the last poster? They begin frantically logging on time in, time out, wondering why? Did everyone die? But people are posting in other sections. Has the thread been locked? But nobody is viewing it. It is one day before the end of the month, one day before the next post would wander into necro territory, and the fate of this thread will be sealed. They decide to count down their victory, and as they watch...they wait for someone to post, they wait for someone, anyone to step in, a forum newbie looking to lay their mark, or a regular who came back from an extended vacation, just in the nick of time to continue the game. There's only a few minutes left, they decide to put on some music, and grab a drink. They refresh the page every few moments. There's only 30 seconds left...they refresh the page...suddenly... a person is watching the thread... they person's heart jumps, the old familiar game is about to start once more. They rear up to reclaim their position. They watch...they refresh... the music they were listening to ends, but they don't even notice. 10 seconds left... The other person is still viewing the thread, oh they realized whats going to happen... the other user is going to wait until the last second, then release some random little post, probably something along the lines of "I WIN EKJFNIWKHJEBRNFIJHOWESBFUIWE". 5 seconds left... They refresh the page, still no post... 4 seconds left... 3 seconds left... 2 seconds left... 1 second left... They refresh the page... There was no post... The person sits there confused, maybe the connection is a little slow... They refresh the page... The other user is no longer viewing the thread, there was no post left behind, no message, it was like they were never there. They won.
  19. I take a few steps to the right, get down, and shield my face with my arms (in case this is a heat seeking hatchet and adjusts its trajectory accordingly)
  20. This thread is to talk about sandwiches of all types: hot, cold, open faced, and even things that may or may not actually be sandwiches (see the sandwich alignment chart for more details). Share your recipes, stories, or general opinions about mans most simple and wonderful delicacy. The other day, I decided to change things up a notch, and stopped using regular kraft singles (is that even cheese) on my grilled cheeses, and decided to use some swiss cheese slices instead...and oh my goodness, it was profoundly delicious, especially with some tomato soup on the side.
  21. Other than having saturday off, and a barbecue at a friends house, my labor day weekend is gonna be pretty usual. BUT MY WEEKEND JUST GOT BETTER BECAUSE I JUST WON!
  22. Oh no... I must have inspired the ene-*gets crushed by a giant snowball*
  23. For me, it's either those old playstation magazine disks, or more likely, Elmo's number journey.
  24. The first game I remember obsessing over was the elder scrolls 4 oblivion, I never played a game with that kind of freedom. I saw a video on the xbox 360, that was like "things to do in oblivion", and I remember seeing a guy stack apples , and tried throwing an apple at them, eventually getting frusterated and hurling a fireball at the stack, sending apples everywhere. It was just so mind blowing for a person who never heard of an rpg before. Upon getting it, I played literally so much my parents got upset with me over how much I played it, but I enjoyed every minute of it.
