  1. Hey Vitako, If you don't want the Follow me Topic to show unless the player's speech skill is high enough, you would just add the condition to it that would prevent it from showing unless the condition was met. For example: GetActorValue Speechcraft >= 50.00 And make sure to run it on the Player (PL) Hopefully this helps you out. -Tons
  2. Hey MMS, This may seem like a silly question but did you try running your game without the mods that specifically mention targeting the trainers? Master trainers train you in skills beyond 90 upto level 100 - Master trainers train you upto skill level 100 Trainers Guild for Aspiring Thieves - Trainers Guild for Aspiring Thieves Training costs - Training costs Training per Level - TrainingPerLevel_v1-0 You could also start by going back to the pages for these mods and checking the description, Read Me, and or Forums to see if the problem is mentioned already. For the forums, you may have to do a search for some key words like won't train or something like that. Good luck, Tons
  3. Hey Swimmer, I am certain that your problem must be elsewhere if the installer didn't work for this mod. The reason being I have installed this mod more than once using the installer and it works fine as it does for pretty much everyone else. Just to be sure, I just uninstalled and reinstalled it again with the NMM. Works perfectly. Perhaps where your game and or its files are in an incorrect spot. Like the address for the files are wrong because I am pretty sure this mod doesn't have an .esp or scripts. This just installs meshes and textures which are all there from what I can see so this shouldn't be causing any kind of crashes or problems. So here are some things I'd like to ask to try to pin point the issue and hopefully help those trying to help you... help you, lol: Which parts of this mod, specifically, are you trying to install? I'll try installing that if I haven't already to increase the likelihood that the mod and or its installer are not the issue. Screenshot your folder hierarchy showing the locations for your textures and meshes like this: Is your problem with new games and or loaded saves?
  4. Hey ArcherAssassin, If the seam is bad, it could be because the body textures you're using are not good with the meshes being used (like if you were using textures meant for UNP but the meshes were CBBE) or it could be that the textures need to be blended to match better. Just do some searches on how to fix the problem. It may take you a few sites but I'm sure you'll find the answer somewhere. Good luck to you, Tons
  5. Okay. I had several ideas on how to accomplish what you're trying to do... or at least what I think you're trying to do, lol. Most of them didn't pan out but one did. This isn't to say this is the best, most effective, and or only way to do this but this is what I have come up with. What I did was use a modified version of this: Auto-Add Your Item To Your Player Template and Tutorial The Template Quest used in that mod is a two staged quest (0 and 99) so I modified it to be 3 (0, 10, 99). Then I created an Effect that has a script on it that only changes the stage of the Template Quest to 10. Scriptname SetStageTestScript extends activemagiceffect Quest Property SpellAddingQuest Auto Event OnEffectStart (Actor Target, Actor Caster) SpellAddingQuest.SetStage(10) EndEvent Then I added that Effect to an Stage Setting Ability and that ability had a condition on it to only work when the other quest (in your case MQ306) is at the stage you want. GetStage Quest: MQ102 >= 20 Stage 10 of the Template Quest then adds whatever you want and then sets the quest to stage 99 and removes the ability as well. This is to ensure this sort of thing doesn't just keep running. It's important to note that the Template Quest starts running as soon as the game is loaded so I use it to add the Stage Setting Ability to the player automatically when the game starts, but its condition will stop it from firing until that Other Quest advances as far as you like. Template Quest at Stage 0: Utility.Wait(0.25) Game.GetPlayer().AddSpell(StageSettingAbilitySpell) Template Quest at Stage 10: Utility.Wait(0.20) Game.GetPlayer().AddSpell(Blessing Spell) Game.GetPlayer().RemoveSpell(TestingStageSettingAbility) SetStage(99) Hopefully this helps you out.
  6. Hey Winter, As someone pointed out, you're going to want to take a look at LOOT as it is very much designed for being a huge help on setting up load orders. I could explain a bit more, but this guy does a much better job of that than I ever could: Also, if you do not have it already, I recommend another tool as well: Tes5Edit. It is veyr helpful and can do a lot of things that I am not sure how to do but I mainly use it for if my game crashes at the title screen or something like that. This will often tell you what is going on in that situation. Hope this helps you out and happy modding. -Tons
  7. Hello Badooga, I am by no means an expert on this sort of thing so forgive me if this doesn't help. So, what is the ID of the quest you're trying to use? I ask because I wanted to know, if instead of trying to add this script to the scene, did you try to add it to the quest itself? Like say after the scene, it sets the quest stage to 40. Did you try adding the script fragment to stage 40 of this quest?
  8. I should have asked my question in a less convoluted way, but basically I was only asking why you felt that one of Nirn's larger (possibly largest) continents would be equal in size to Earth's smallest. That is what this was about for me at first, regarding your comment. Then it was about your response to that inquiry giving the impression that you thought I was saying (and/or accusing you of saying) that Tamriel was the smallest continent on Nirn, and explaining that I had not. Now that you've answered my question, I understand. You associated the size of these two continents as being similar, only because they are similar in shape. Now we can move on, or just be done since both our point of views on this are now both clear. I definitely still appreciated the discussion this provided despite all the confusion that took place on both our parts, lol.
  9. You quoted me saying this: Tamriel is not the entire world (57,308,738 Sq mi or 148,429,000 Sq k), but why would Tamriel have to be the smallest continent on our planet? Then you asked where it's stated that Tamriel is the smallest continent. Why would you quote me questioning the idea that Tamriel would be comparable in size to the smallest continent on Earth and then bring up it being the smallest continent in Nirn? Did you just miss where I said, "our planet" or did you just not understand that I was referring to the Earth even though I said "our" and used a link referencing the Earth? Maybe you just misunderstood what I was saying in that line you quoted from me, but I was saying I found it strange to assume a continent described as one of the largest on Nirn would be roughly the size of the smallest one on Earth. I was basically asking why you would assume one of the largest continents on their planet would be around the size of the smallest continent in ours? Are you saying you think Nirn is smaller than Earth? Are you saying that all the continents on Nirn are roughly the size of Australia? Do you think Nirn has more water or something? I was just trying to understand your point of view is all.
  10. Where is it stated that Tamriel is the smallest continent? In your post... Australia is the smallest continent on Earth. That is you claiming that Tamriel would be equivalent to the smallest continent on our planet.
  11. Tamriel is not the entire world (57,308,738 Sq mi or 148,429,000 Sq k), but why would Tamriel have to be the smallest continent on our planet? It just seems to take up far more space on maps I've seen of Nirn than Australia does on our globe, by far. Of course all maps of Nirn are speculative and again, we don't know how big their planet is intended to be, but it doesn't seem/sound right to me that Tamriel is smaller than multiple countries. But you're obviously entitled to your opinion and I thank you for your post.
  12. Hey, thanks for the post but yeah... I don't know. My math was just for calculating land mass. I feel like realistically, you have to downscale the land from what it really would be due to practicality as well as budget and game/computer constraints. I mean you wouldn't try fitting a full sized car on your bookshelf. You put a scaled down model of it there. And even though it would be nice if everything was nice and neat and even, I don't think the same scale formulas can be used for one thing can be used for another simply because they are in the same game because not everything in that game requires the same amount of scaling in order to maintain practicality of playing. I could be wrong in this case of course, but in works of fiction, the scaling for one thing (land) doesn't always seem to be the same for another (i.e. - weapon size)... assuming they bother to really worry about scaling at all the same way people like myself do.
  13. Thank you for your post and for the link. But personally, all those numbers seemed extremely too low. Especially given the numerous times I have seen it stated that Tamriel is 12 million Sq mi. The way I see it, Tamriel is intended to be a large continent and 12 million Sq would make it similar in size to Africa and the numbers I came up with would make Skyrim roughly around the size of the United States. My math, my reasoning behind it, and the resulting numbers all make more sense to/for me. But I can understand why some would take those numbers and the methods used there. Regardless, thanks again for providing a link to that information.
  14. First off, thanks your response and positive words. Much appreciated. You're right, interiors of any kind whether they be natural enclosures or man made ones, were not factored into my calculation process attempt at all. The reason for this is because I do not believe this is how landmass is generally measured in real life. It's like the United States is said to be 3.8 million Sq mi (or 9.8 million Sq k) and I don't think it includes measurements of all its many caves and such as I am almost certain that landmass in real life is merely a measurement of "surface terrain" if that makes sense. But I could be wrong.
  15. Introduction What's up people? So upon reading an interesting story written by a friend of mine, I was reminded of a question I had a while ago that I had forgot to continue to attempt to find an answer to due to my ADD. Basically, at some point, for no logical reason at all, I was curious as to how large Skyrim would be in real life. I Googled and couldn't find the answer. Instead, I kept seeing people consistently quote two figures: 14.8 Sq mi and 15.8 Sq mi. This of course wasn't what I wanted to know, so I decided to try and hypothesize it myself. I mean I did make a calculator for converting Creation Kit height numbers into real life measurements so why not figure this out as well. I know the answer is coming all late and what not and that this isn't truly truly official, but since I didn't find ANY answer remotely close to what sounded right to me and what I came up with seemed legit enough, I figured I would share. So here we are. Be easy on me with my terms. I didn't really know what to call certain things. Also, I know this is up for debate, but this is what I think it is and you can take it or leave it. Hopefully it makes someone feel a little bit better about this if they were wondering like me. The Work * Game Real Size (Sq mi) - Between 14.8 and 15.8 Sq mi * 1 yard equals 1 mi – "...For a large game, 500 yards is the equivalent of 500 miles..." * Game Real Size (Sq Yds) - Between 45,844,480 and 48,942,080 Sq Yds * I've seen people state that Skyrim is 1/10 its size and this would mean that we should multiply the Sq Yds by 10 and that didn't/doesn't feel right to me. I have no real basis to say this as Elder Scrolls is fictional and their planet may actually somehow be bigger than ours. I could be thinking of the math wrong, but anyway, it just seemed right to divide by 10 instead. * Real Life Size (Sq mi) - Between 4,584,448 and 4,894,208 Sq mi (same in Sq yds) * Now to figure out roughly how many miles across Skyrim is horizontally and vertically, we start by getting the square root - Between 2,141 and 2,212 mi (same in Sq yds) * Skyrim is roughly 1.6 times as long horizontally as it is vertically so horizontally Skyrim is - Between 2,141 * 1.6 = 3,426 and 2,212 * 1.6 = 3,539 mi (same in yds) * And is long vertically roughly - Between 2,141 / 1.6 = 1,338 and 2,212 / 1.6 = 1,383 mi (same in yds) The Conclusion - Skyrim's Size Game Real Size (Sq mi): Between 14.8 and 15.8 Game Real Size (Sq k): Between 33.3 and 40.9 Real Life Size (Sq mi): Between 4,584,448 and 4,894,208 Real Life Size (Sq k): Between 11,873,666 and 12,675,941 Real Life Size Horizontally (mi): Between 3,426 and 3,539 Real Life Size Vertically (mi): Between 1,338 and 1,383 Real Life Size Horizontally (k): Between 5,514 and 5,695 Real Life Size Vertically (k): Between 3,446 and 3,560
  16. I'm definitely with you on that one. You posting basically just reminded me that Solitude wasn't just the name of a city in a game, lol.
  17. Hey People, I know there was probably a thread like this before, but I just had this happen and I had to share it just because I laughed at myself. Maybe at least one other person will laugh at this too or even better, share something they did that was an oh boy moment regarding Skyrim. So, today I was writing down a recipe that required White Wine as an ingredient, but instead I wrote Whiterun. What's even worse, the blue line shows up under "run" and initially I'm like, "What? What's wrong with what I wrote Word!?" You gotta be able to laugh at yourself sometimes, am I right?
  18. Hello Blacksmith, I think one of these 2 mods may be what you're looking for or at least close enough to where it will help you enjoy your game till you find a perfect match for what you want: Honed Metal - NPC Crafting and enchanting services by SkylineR390 NPCs can Craft by Yohane Take care and good luck. -Tons
  19. Hey Kyris, If you mean be able to see the items in the follower's inventory once in game... long as the items are not part of the follower's default outfit, you should be able to see it. If you mean you want the follower to be more likely to equip it in game... the follower should equip the weapons automatically as long as they are the best weapons for your follower to use, and the Combat Style is set to where using those weapons is fine. I imagine that if you duplicated an NPC to make the follower, the combat style should be fine. Regarding the armor, your best bet (in my opinion) is to create an outfit and the place the armor pieces you want the follower to start with in there. Then make it your follower's default outfit. I hope I understood your question and that this answer helped. -Tons
  20. Yes, a good friend just pointed that out to me in PMs, lol. So... yeah. My bad! Thanks everyone for the good discussion though. Hopefully I didn't annoy any of you too much, haha!
  21. First let me thank you both for taking the time to join in this bit of discussion. Lachdonin, I would agree if Boethiah ONLY had to do with the overthrow of authority. S/he doesn't. And add to it that they really like betrayal and it seems to me like they seem to like overthrowment (I know it isn't a word, lol) because it is like a major form of betrayal. Betraying those who rule over you, whether they are good or bad rulers. That's why I get confused here. Temple of Stendarr being allies with them seems way too far fetched when they hate some Daedric Princes who easily at least seem less evil/dark in nature. I also see no reason for Boethia to not betray those that worship him/her as that would be a deep betrayal almost unlike any other. That sort of thing should amuse Boethia. I'm even willing to bet that if a person can betray themselves, Boethia would think that the most awesome thing they've ever seen. What do you mean by CHIM by the way? I'm sorry but I don't know what that means. AfroGamerNinja, I also don't know what you mean by what you said other than you agreeing with what was said in that post, but I addressed the problems with that post as it pertains to this situation. I'm really starting to think that someone had something in mind when they thought of this originally, but somehow, somewhere, and or at some point, that was lost. And/or the idea wasn't fleshed out well enough for it to make actual sense as they explained it and/or their universe.
  22. This would only be true if that was the only rule he would want to topple. It isn't. Boethiah is the evil that will support the king's life being taken because they are king. That has nothing to do with whether they fall down the path of evil in wrong. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that if they became king by betraying their friends and or family, Boethiah would actually be in support of that person. I would even go as far to say that if they rule in a manner that is very unjust such as through deceit and having people secretly murdered for disliking their unjust rule that Boethiah is actually less inclined to support their downfall. It's just not mutually beneficial. Boethiah gains nothing from the followers of Stendarr, and again, no one needs a daedric prince to do anything. It helps to have one helping you, but it is unnecessary to have their support in order to succeed.
  23. That's good news that you got it to work and I'm glad a link may help you out. Nothing wrong with failing. When modding, failing is just part of the process before succeeding. Just try not to let it get you down is all or make you give up. Since you're starting over, I'd like to recommend some tutorials. You may already have these or some of them, but just in case. Very Basic Follower - How to Create a Custom Follower and Marriage Partner for SkyrimVideo on Making a Follower - **Standalone Follower - Tutorial Creating Standalone NPCs by Natilde***Custom Follower Framework*** - Making a Custom Follower: Skyrim Modding Tutorial Custom Voiced Follower - Making a Unique-Voiced Follower in SkyrimScene Building - by doughamil I know it is a lot, but still. Don't give up and good luck with your project.
  24. I don't think that is the definition of allying yourself with anyone or thing. If you fight for good and believe daedra evil to the point where you fight them, it is questionable that one would have any mindset that would allow them to ally with any Daedric Prince let alone one like Boethiah. Why would they ally with something they don't see as good? I mean these same people, in theory, would attack the Companions if they knew they were werewolves. They say things like this: "...They are profane creatures with no hope of redemption. They lure innocents to their deaths and corrupt the souls of all they touch..." Boethiah is basically a personification of the underlined portion of that quote. But I don't think what you are saying is allying. What you describe is acceptance (in my opinion), and still, it would be odd to me that they would accept this daedric prince (one who definitely causes evil, will support them being overthrown and the overthrowing of the most just of rulers, and truly isn't necessary as I'm sure people can and do overthrow others without Boethiah) as necessary but not any of the others.
  25. What you are primarily referring to is called idles or idle dialogue. It's what the NPC says randomly without any kind of interaction/activation from the player. If more than one NPC does this with one another without player interaction, it is called a scene... thought scenes can involve player interaction. And it is okay not to fully understand. We'll get there. Just takes some patience is all. As The Pale Redguard was kind enough to point out, you just need to go to Quest -> Dialogue -> DialogueFollower -> and look for the Misc tab. To see all the idles and what conditions they use. I understand why you started them with numbers, but I do think it is something that can potentially create problems for you. Here is an article about Naming Conventions. You shouldn't have to do all that to be able to record. First, I'd change your NPC's ID so it starts with letters instead of numbers. Then try. If it won't let you record. Hit Ok and then double click the line again. If that still doesn't work, we'll go from there, but we should be able to figure this out.
