Is Fallout 4 Modding Scene Dead ?
AugustaCalidia replied to Aeradom's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
+1 I'm on my umpteenth playthrough. Because of all the wonderful new mods being created, every one of my playthroughs is different. -

Moderator, please lock this thread. Bethesda Derangement Syndrome (BDS) has driven it off the rails. -

Why do you think Bethesda's actions are disrespectful toward those who have paid for a game license? That is the more fundamental question. -
Bethesda's New Verified Creator Program

Agreed. That is exactly why I had distinguished the two concepts by saying "has every right legally and morally" rather than conflating them by saying "has every right legally and therefore morally." -

Bethesda's New Verified Creator Program
AugustaCalidia replied to Pickysaurus's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
In response to some of the absurd claims and analogies proffered in this thread, please note the following paragraphs from the Skyrim EULA (full text can be found on Steam): "LICENSE. Subject to this Agreement and its terms and conditions, LICENSOR hereby grants you the non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited right and license to use one copy of the Software for your personal, non-commercial use on a single home or portable console or computer. The Software is being licensed to you and you hereby acknowledge that no title or ownership in the Software is being transferred or assigned and this Agreement should not be construed as a sale or transfer of any rights in the Software. All rights not specifically granted under this Agreement are reserved by LICENSOR and, as applicable, its licensors. OWNERSHIP. LICENSOR retains all right, title and interest to this Software, including, but not limited to, all copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, trade names, proprietary rights, patents, titles, computer and software codes, audiovisual effects, themes, characters, character names, stories, dialog, settings, artwork, sounds effects, musical works, and moral rights. The Software is protected by United States copyright law and applicable copyright laws and treaties throughout the world." Summary: Bethesda grants a license to use Skyrim. Bethesda does not transfer ownership of Skyrim. (BTW, this is a standard game EULA.) -
Bethesda's New Verified Creator Program

What I think. Firstly, Bethesda has every right legally and morally to do this, since these games are their lawful intellectual property. Secondly, Modders have every right legally and morally to participate in the VCP, should they wish to do so. Thirdly, I have every right legally and morally NOT to buy mods from Bethesda or any other mod vendor. (This is a right that I have exercised in the past and will continue to exercise in the future.) Fourthly, I'm not going to lose any sleep over this vastly overblown issue. -
To find your game forum, click on Forums at the top of this page and scroll all the way down the page to Nexus Mods Game Forums.
-
To locate friends, go to the Nexus Mods home page, click on My Profile, and append "?tab=friends" to the My Profile address.
-
Not all your mods. Only the SKSE dependent mods shown in the SKSE Plugin Loader list.
-
Happy gaming! And thank you for reporting your solution. This will be helpful to others.
-
Unfortunately, I don't have even a hint of a solution for your problem. Have you searched the Vortex support forums for help? There are many in these forums more knowledgeable than I who could offer you help. Let's hope one of them stops by.
-
Did you in fact disable GPU acceleration to determine whether or not this is a GPU issue? Is that what your statement means? Uninstalling Vortex does not uninstall your mods. That would happen only if you deleted your Vortex folder in AppData and your Mod Staging Folder, wherever that might be.
-
A suggestion: try disabling GPU Acceleration in the Vortex settings. That said, I have absolutely no idea if that will solve your problem. I'm just making a wild guess.

The Oblivion comments are being migrated into the new forums (communities? clubs?). I visited the old Oblivion forums a bit ago, and there are several thousand pages of comments in the process of migration. There's no problem in reading the individual comments. However, there is no search capability. Here's the Oblivion Mod Troubleshooting forum: https://forums.nexusmods.com/forum/180-oblivion-mod-troubleshooting/

text has become low resolution all of the sudden?
AugustaCalidia replied to gederf's topic in Site Support
Using Firefox, I'm not seeing low resolution text. Everything is fine. Perhaps this resolution issue is (was) a momentary glitch. -
To determine whether or not your Vortex update is causing the problem, exit Vortex and then launch your game. (Remember, Vortex doesn't need to be running for you to launch and play your game.) If there is still a diagonally split screen, then that's a mod issue and not a Vortex issue.

@showler Wow! I don't need to wave the rubber chickens at midnight after all. I now see my updated photo! Also, your werewolfish self is no longer hiding behind the Nexus logo. All is well.
-
@showler Thank you for the avatar pictures. In my browser: (1) you are a werewolf masquerading as a Nexus logo, (2) I still see the old me even though you see the new me, and (3) the MuteSignals avatar picture is what I'm seeing. In my case, I must remember that "patience is a virtue" (sometimes) and wait for the Nexus Mods faeries to complete their avatar tasks.
-
Werewoff? The only avatar image I'm currently seeing in your post is a Nexus Mods icon. There's a new twist to my avatar story. I decided to replace my old photo after all rather than just enhance its resolution. Now the new photo graces my avatar on the Vortex login page, but the old photo remains in the Nexus mod side and the Nexus forum side. You're right. Nexus Mods is playing favorites.
-
Thank you for your response. I even refreshed the browser cache, but to no avail. In regard to your avatar, I see the Nexus Mods icon. Did you change the avatar picture to something else?
-
I've tried several times (including workarounds) to update my avatar but with no success. The image uploads, NexusMods reports success, but the avatar remains unchanged. There is no error message. This is not a big issue for me. All I wanted to do was increase the resolution of my current avatar picture, not change it.
-
In Vortex: plugins page, upper right-hand corner.
-
@HeyYou Agreed. The redundancy is peculiar. It would be nice if the description immediately below the avatar could be replaced with a name/description of one's own choosing, as in the old forum. Perhaps that's in the works for later implementation.

Perhaps icon size is in the eye of the beholder. They don't look huge to me. Or would different browsers display the icons differently? I use Firefox.
