  1. You need to raise this issue in the Skyrim SE support forum. This is the Vortex support forum.
  2. Vortex did nothing wrong. By default Vortex places game downloads and staged mods in AppData\Roaming\Vortex. However, you can override those defaults in Vortex settings and place the directories elsewhere. Remember, though, that hard link deployment requires that the game and the mod staging folder be on the same drive.
  3. Not to worry. Uninstalling Vortex does not touch your managed games settings. By default managed game settings are stored in AppData on your C: drive. They are never stored in your program installation directory. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Vortex several times without doing any harm to my managed games settings. Having said this, I do not know if uninstalling and reinstalling Vortex will solve your problem. However, I do know that this process will net wipe out your settings.
  4. This solution is quite sensible. I would encourage the developers to seriously consider it. As for my Vortex installation, v0.4.0 works fine because I uninstalled OneDrive ages ago. (I may be paranoid, but I do not trust intrusive cloud storage or any other kind of cloud storage.) Furthermore my StarfieldCustom.ini was untouched. That said, OneDrive users obviously need help and are owed a solution ASAP.
  5. Well said, 1ae0bfb8. Picky is indeed a superstar. His informative comments and solutions have been a big help to me.
  6. Vortex does not need to be on the same drive as the game. The mod staging folder, however, must be on the same drive as the game.
  7. Here is a recent mod that may address some of the issues raised in this thread: https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/1599. Also, follow showler's advice and go to the Starfield Extension page. There's a lot of useful discussion there.
  8. Uninstalling Vortex does not uninstall your mods. Mod archives and installed mods are kept in separate directories outside of the Vortex program directory. By default, mods (both archived and installed) are kept in "AppData" on your C: drive whereas Vortex itself is installed in "Program Files" on your C: drive.
  9. The pinned megathread at the top of this forum.
  10. Like rmm200, I normally steer clear of mods with Vortex warnings. However, on several occasions I have installed such mods just to see what would happen. Vortex installed them without difficulty. (I would list those mods here, but that was some time ago, and I have completely forgotten their names.)
  11. Vortex is currently idling at 0 - 1% for me as well. Moreover, while playing Skyrim SE, it varies from 1% to an occasional high of 5%, which would appear to be quite acceptable.
  12. When I use purge, Vortex leaves my game data folders as squeaky clean as MO and MO2 ever did (I've used both). In fact, using purge and a little extra Vortex magic, I can easily exit my games with game data folders devoid of any evidence that the games were ever modded. If evidence of a mod does exist, it's because I manually placed the mod in the game without telling Vortex. Fortunately, with Vortex, I've rarely ever had to do that.
  13. Look for YouTube videos about tomb raider mod installation. I bet there's a ton of them. Also, look for a mod manager that supports your game. There's probably a few of those around. Since this is not a Vortex issue, this is the best advice that I can give you.
  14. What game? What mods? Mods without plugins are usually game asset mods that are sorted via file conflict resolution. Has Vortex notified you of any file conflicts? If so, have you resolved those conflicts?
  15. In the modded profile, what would happen if you simply disabled the plugin for Immersive Music but not the mod itself? Would that not "hide" the esp file but retain the loose files? Or have I totally misunderstood what you are trying to do?
  16. The synchronization you desire is possible, although not with Vortex itself, as you have discovered. To synchronize Vortex settings for my two computers, I use a synchronization program, two hdd docking stations, and a dedicated hdd. I synch from one computer to the hdd, and then I synch from the hdd to the other computer. In no more than five minutes I am able to synch all my Vortex settings (including active/inactive status) on these two computers. Originally I had set up this process for synchronizing large video and picture files. Once I discovered how easy it was, I decided to include Vortex in my synchronization schedule. Finally, although I could probably achieve the same results using a network drive, I have chosen not to do so.
  17. Did you delete the masterlist file per the instructions in the error message?
  18. Of course 931 is not a binary number. It is the decimal number translation of a binary measurement of disk space. My apologies if my original post was confusing. I've revised it to clear up (I hope) any ambiguities.
  19. In regard to ssd's, I have several working Samsung ssd's that are eight to ten years old. In regard to disk capacity (hdd and ssd), there are two standard but differing ways of expressing disk size. The Windows OS reports disk size via a binary calculation which is translated into a decimal number. Disk manufacturers report disk size via a decimal calculation. Thus 931MB disk space (Windows) is the same as 1TB disk space (disk manufacturer).
  20. Have you tried raising these issues in a Fallout NV support forum? These problems do not seem to be Vortex related.
  21. Picky, I await your post with bated breath. Also, I went to the GitHub site for the new mod manager. Now I'm as excited about this new mod manager as I was about Vortex when it was first announced in 2016.
  22. I wish Tannin every success in his new undertaking. However, his departure is indeed sad news. I miss him already.
  23. Does the load order change make any difference in how the game operates? If so, what is the difference? If not, why be concerned?
