Elder Scrolls Anthology disappointment
Bloodinfested replied to erickelly1972's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Should install Morrowind then Tribunal next is Bloodmoon if you install in different order you can get errors. But you can also search the installing disk for the appropriate missing mesh and drop it into your files for example mesh/bm_snow01.nif is the most common missing mesh problem. -
I have to agree that Skyrim is extremely dumbed down given the development path of the last 2 games this seems to be the unfortunate direction of the series. Despite what ppl feel about Morrowind it is the one game that got far more right then wrong the storyline itself is far better thought out then any partly because Kirkbride was with Bethesda at the time. Ideally I would want a game generally based around Morrowind with a few new concepts added, take stuff like the added crafting & the improved combat in Skyrim is acceptable changes.I never sat down and really complied a list of what I want to see I’m more concerned about tech barriers 64bit perhaps DX 12, design the game around real time and beyond the standard ugrid to avoid scripting errors also a bit more view distance. Wouldn’t mind Bethesda taking a hard look at the unofficial patches and allow them to be applied to console users, I'm not a console user I just feel sorry for all of them that have to put up with a semi broken game.

Morrowind was originally going to be all of Morrowind but end up getting restricted to the island of Vvardenfell due to memory limitations on the console end. Originally it would have been larger but how the fast travel was implemented gave an illusion of it being larger. Morrowind is one of those games that end up getting far more right then wrong vs the entire series. -

In response to post #25818859. #25838029 is also a reply to the same post. Theres also Mortal Online thats pretty hardcore long as you don't mind 1st person rpgs.Wizardry online when your character dies you have to create a new one doesn’t get any more hardcore then that but I kind of prefer the old classic wizardry games vs the online. -

That might not be too far off sadly... maybe a fire spell I guess modders can fix some of the catastrophic mess but your at a point now where your almost redesigning an entire game. Stuff like reputation would be hard to throw back in Daggerfall for example everything you did had an effect on the world to npcs to other factions and would lead to one of 6 different endings, Skyrim nothing you do matters. -

Its most definitely worth playing I would say its one of the best in the series. You can get Morrowind to look gorgeous with just the simple mw overhaul (mgso) witch is a collaboration of many mods. Openmw will certainly be a must when its complete I haven’t personally tried it yet I'm waiting for 1.0.

Bound Weapons HUGELY overpowered...
Bloodinfested replied to Alventiothy's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Vanilla skyrim bound weapons are not that great a dagger is 6 base not counting perk damage and other possible damage buffs. In the older games they use to be pretty good they were suppose to be close to Daedric although the true Daedric weapons and armor is always better.- 9 replies

Your unable to do ctrl-alt-delete? Its hard to know with more details run some monitoring software and see where your bottle neck is if any check the temp on cpu and gpu... Have you tried disabling all mods and starting a new game does the problems still happen? Some freezes could be from loading data is your hard drive defrag and optimized?

You can revert a save file/game to default if you did accidentally saved at higher #... 1: Start the game with the current ugrids value 2: Load the save game that you'd like to revert/change back 3: Once the game is loaded, ALT+TAB or minimize the game 4: Navigate to your Skyrim.ini file located typically in the documents/my games/skyrim/ 5: Input the Ugrids value you'd like to use, DEFAULT is "5", otherwise if you want to go from 9 down to 7, put in 7 6: Save the file and then maximize/tab back into skyrim that is already running 7: hit the "~"/console key and type in "refreshini" 8: Save the game as a new save file

Everyone setup is different so it will vary but going beyond ugrid default will lead to scripting errors some more then others same with timescale set to real values. Only thing that bothered me was the distant waterfalls witch someone fixed a long time ago. Far as it looking bland you could use a enb performance wise try imaginator or tweak ini RGB (fBrightLightColorB) settings... but imaginator is more powerful and user friendly then the ini tweaks.

I believe that in NMM that it will not show but if you have transferred all data files over it will work regardless just make sure you use boss to organize what would be a new load order.

One must level up forum status by posting inconsequential nonsense.

What you could do is record your video without voice then do a voice over. When editing having 2 sources of audio you can crank up or down whatever one as needed.

Numerous Game-Breaking Dragonborn Bugs
Bloodinfested replied to Bombly's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You should be able to advance any quest by using console setstage on Served cold Setstage DLC2RR02 10 last # (10) is the quest stage it goes from 10,15,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,85,90,100,110,200 start from lowest # and move higher if you still have problems you should get an journal update when its entered. -
Glass in elder scrolls is not the same as glass in our world. Actually in UESPwiki the armor uses rare metals & volcanic glass not something you would really want to use.
-
Have to also consider the variety of armor back in the day wasn’t for the sake of style it was a matter of affording such armors most ppl couldn’t afford heavy armor such as plate mail so they resorted to chain mail or leather. Much like weaponry in that time the Vikings primary used axes because swords were an luxury specially the Ulfberht. If your a farmer getting raided at that point anything is better then nothing. I wouldn’t mind them getting rid of glass for the sake of it being more realistic replaced by Adamantium and Mithril in the older games. I realize some ppl like glass armor it is fantasy but so is Adamantium an metal substance is more suitable for armor then volcanic glass. If some guy hit ya with a iron mace your wearing glass armor it probably do far more damage to you wearing the armor all the razor glass fragments shattering and going into your skin. Light medium and heavy armor more less defines the weight of the armor the way the perk tree is set up it only adds to more customization of your character.

Im really fascinated with the Sea Elves
Bloodinfested replied to Hexxagone's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Bethesda has their fair share of cutting corners as well and they are not particularly that great of a developer weak animation, scripting, dirty edits, ect maybe one of these decades they will hire an 3d modeler that can actually not make uv mapping mistakes. -

Bloodinfested replied to Hexxagone's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
If it wasn’t ESO Bethesda would eventually add it in some game the result of taking the mystery out yet again. Some of the lore your using your imagination witch is often more powerful then what most game developers can come up with. -
I certainly don’t mind realistic armors or weapons in a game but Tes has been moving in the opposite direction as far as realism is concerned. If you look how the sound effects were done the guy doing it even said they tried to do it realistic but choose the Hollywood style he claims because thats what ppl want to hear. You have glass armor and weapons, a combination of metal and volcanic glass isn’t something you would want to make armor or weapons out of. volcanic glass knife might be a excellent tool for skinning an animal or cutting fruit but would make a poor weapon in combat. The thing Tes has going for it even though its fantasy setting most weapons and armors are relatively functional. Games like Final fantasy take it to the extreme like the Buster sword the human body couldn’t swing a 60lb or whatever it would amount to sword effectively. On big giant swords they had a bodybuilder using a buster sword he really couldn’t use it. Even down to the classes one could point out originally it use to be more realistic based on limitations back in the middle ages you didn’t see ppl doing everything archer, swordsmen, pikemen, knight, merchant, herbalist, messenger, innkeeper, miner, glassblower, cook, diplomat, baker, bricklayer, shipwright, physician, locksmith, blacksmith, ect...You can find a few non combat rolls in some RPGS but they focused more on just combat professions instead of non combat rolls mixed with a little fantasy.

I always liked Oblivion over Skyrim. My problem with it is the massive amount of removed elements the ends don't justify the means. Obviously there are some improvements like the combat is better new crafting. Should not have to rely on the modders to fix the removal of many features I feel like I am buying half of my game now. Stuff like better animation graphical fidelity is an natural process of improvement I don’t really expect that from game to game. The journal in Oblivion is vastly improved over Skyrim, Skyrim had massive lack of detail to complete quests because they seem to think everyone will just use the quest markers now and not read anything. The faction quests in oblivion vastly better you had a sense of progression, Its obvious Beth didn’t put an lot of effort into the faction quests. Less skills/spells maybe if your one that never used them you wouldn’t care one bit but this doesn’t improve your game experience only takes away from what you could have had. No spellmaking, less armor slots and restrictions on enchantments again doesn’t improve your game experience only takes away from what you could have had. The npcs you could pull off more conversations although this was more profound in Morrowind. You should be able to walk up to any npc and ask them any topic, restriction of your character dialog options how is that an improvement by any stretch of the means its an catastrophic back step. The UI in Oblivion is more functional for example you could actually look up what faction your apart of or your active buffs on screen for a few examples. I personally prefer the art style of the UI more over the simple plain Jane bland look of Skyrims. I liked the main storyline in oblivion more not that Skyrim had a poor storyline. Being some random hero that played a huge part in someone else who ends up saving the day is pretty refreshing because most rpgs you tend to play as the main character the one who ends up saving the day. The landscape in Skyrim is an obvious improvement just look at the mountains. I personally prefer the mixed culture and overall landscape in Cyrodiil. The leveling up process I have mixed thoughts on the perk tree system is a good addition but the removal of the 8 attributes and class wrecked it for me. Class in Oblivion and even Morrowind is more less an hybrid of the class system when not picking x skill the game in no way was telling you couldn’t use it or level it up. Class was just bonus to x skills like how the racial works. Todd Howard said the main 8 attributes just increase the derived attributes that wasn’t exactly true they also played apart in combat. It wouldn’t shock me at all if the next game they remove all racial bonus and have one stat health they seem to be Gung ho on the abusive streamlining its kind of Ironic coming from a group of ppl that were heavily influenced off of D&D. Skyrim definitely had far more hype then Oblivion and I admit I was also one of those ppl on the hype train until I realize what they did to the game. I got just over 900 hours on Skyrim witch sounds like a lot and it is but I have over 3000 hours on Oblivion and 2000+ on Morrowind other games in the series I find far more enjoyable.

Witcher is one of those games I put my 30 or 40 hours in beat it and will never pick it up again the lack of no character creation, lifeless npcs and no open world kills it for me. Tes lore is defiantly far more richer then the witcher series. But hey whatever floats your boat Morrowind - 7 sweetrolls Skyrim - 3 sweetrolls Witcher - no sweetroll for you

Is realistic carryweight even possible?
Bloodinfested replied to skydragon1978's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The average plate mail was 40 to 75 lbs two handed swords not really that heavy I think 4-6ish lbs but carry too much of anything else would make you not very maneuverable in combat. There might not be an actual weight unit involved but if weapons & armor are relative to lb then considering the volume of all the items it would be impossible to carry the amount of items in game. Volume is more of an issue looking at every single item in game notes could be shoved inside your plate mail but you couldn’t fit 15 books or the 100's of arrows that you carry could never fit on your back. Realize that its just a game and in a fantasy setting its not suppose to be very realistic. -
I haven’t done a lot of extensive testing on ram but I have a mix of 1k and mostly 2k I notice a few times when I did test it that it past 2g, I had a 2.5g in my old system so it wasn’t an issue. Also everyone's mod setup is a bit different if your running mods to increase npcs obviously you will consume more ram. I would go for more then 2g if ya just stuck with 1k 2g would be fine

np...I know both are in early beginning stages beyond skyrim is a very ambitious project reminds me of Tamriel Rebuilt an Morrowind project started in 2002 thats still ongoing. Its safe to say it will not be done anytime soon.
