  1. This is not to put you off, but it is pretty hard to find other modders this way (except maybe for voice overs). Why would people go through hours of learning, testing and hard work, if they didn't have their own visions for making mods? Sure collaborations happen, but they are often between experienced modders, who know that they can both benefit from each others skills. That said, there might be a chance that you could find a writer, but I think you should prepare yourself for some long hours with the creation kit to fulfil your vision. When you have got the skills and know how of modding, it will be much easier to convince people to join your modding team.
  2. I run enbs on an overclocked 660, but I only get 30 fps, so I think you might have a hard time, but I also run 2k textures which are pretty performance hungry, so maybe. Try it out and see if you can live with the performance. There are also alternatives like "Can't Believe This Is Not An ENB" and "RLO".
  3. Hi, I want to run an enb with hardware aliasing, but I can't seem to get it working. I've tried setting UsedDfferedRendering to false in the enblocal, and in Nvidia inspector setting Aliasing mode to override and aliasing setting to 4x multisampling with no results. I also tried using the aliasing from the launcher (mod organizer configurator), but in both cases I still get shimmering. What am I doing wrong? I want to use the settings Gopher uses in his let's play. Info: Version: newest (legendary) Mod manager: Mod Organizer Enb: E ENB Video Card: GTX 660
  4. Hi. I want to change my save game folder, so that I no longer save to my documents, so I don't need to save on my ssd drive. I tried to edit a new path in FALLOUT.ini like this SLocalSavePath=Saves\E:Falloutsaves, but it didn't work.
  5. Hey. I want to learn how to do some 3d modeling in 3ds max, but I don't know how to import the .nif files into the program. It says on the nifskope page that it can no longer export to .obj file format. I know 3ds max 2012 has a nif plugin, but not the 2013 cas far as I know. The old (ugly) version of blender can export to .obj, but I haven't found out how and I would also like to not have to use both blender, nifscope and 3ds max. Any suggestions on where to start and what program to use? Should I just bite the bullet and buy a used copy of 3ds max 2012? Cheers Tiggerdyret
  6. Try FNVEdit. Edit: I don't know if it's better than wrye. I'm just stating the alternative. I use wrye flash for FO3 and my game is stable, but I seemed to have some trouble adding the Scavanger Armors to the leveled lists. Found this post: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1161721-fnvedit-vs-wryeflash/
  7. Thanks, I don't think it was causing any trouble because it was absorbed into my bashed patch, but might as well get rid of it :)
  8. To my knowledge you can uninstall weapons and armor mods without any problems. Uninstalling mods only become a problem if there are any left over scripts in your save, but most weapon and armor mods don't use these. Just uninstall it, but make sure to keep a backup of your save. Try out for yourself, if you suddenly start crashing much more than usually you can always reenable it again and revert to an earlier save point. I do this every time a install a mod. Remember to always check the mod page and readme for uninstallation. Found this on classic fallout weapons readme page: Uninstallation -------------- 1. Stop killing stuff. 2. Delete the files and/or disable the .esp. I think this means it won't destroy your save ;)
  9. Thanks. What is a .bak backup? :) If you've got a link to a tutorial I'm eager to learn.
  10. What is the last mod that gets loaded before the error in FO3edit? Edit:I don't think you need the streetlights wasteland mod. It should be incorporated into the newest version of streetlights.esm. Did you install and test one mod at a time or install all at once?
  11. Don't sweat it. I know how you feel. I can't tell you how many times I've messed up my game by installing mods and how thorough I was reading all descriptions and guides trying to make it stable. I currently have an install of fallout which seemed to get more and more bugged even though I had a stable game for 20-30 hours for the first time. I did alot of tweaking, fixing uninstalling mods and none of which helped. Hten suddently bit by bit the crashes startet to disappear. And I don't have any idea which of the tweaks worked. I'll try to post a few, but I cab't promis they will do anything. My game was crashing do to heavy modding. Underclocking cpu: My cpu was overclocked and I turned it down a bit. NW crash fix: Works on FO3 to some extent. Put the files in the fose folder isntead of the nwse: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/53635/? Validate game cache or make fresh install of your fallout game: Recommend the fresh install, but if you don't wanna reinstall all your mods try this: Right click Fallout in your game library hit preferrences go to local files and hit validate game cache. This will download missing fallout files. Try this: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/16490/? and this: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/19122/? These things might be far fetched for your problems, but this is what I can think of. Purr4me is an alot more seasoned modder and mod maker than me, so her advice might be a little better.
  12. Hey Guys. Tomorrow I'm gonna pickup my new ssd hard disc and of cause I'll need to install windows on it and format my old drive for a clean setup. What I want to know is, if it is possible to backup my fallout game with all the installed mods and saves, and extract it to the ssd drive without any risks. I've used weeks tweaking and testing and finally seem to have stable game with a 40 hours save file and the perfect look and gameplay. 1. Is it possible to make a seamless backup for my fallout game on a new windows install, without any risks of having to reinstall my game and mods? 2. How do you recommend I go about doing it? Should I just install windows to the new drive and move the files before formatting the old or should i save it on a external drive? 3. Is it possible to save the info from fomm and Wrye Flash to the ssd drive, but move the mod folders on my hdd drive (to save space and reduce the heavy task for the ssd). If so how? If there are any risks I might just wait till I'm done with this playthrough, but if I know myself right I'll just rush through the game without enjoying it fully. Thanks :)
  13. Just an update. My game seems to be stable now. I down clocked my cpu and uninstalled some minor mods. I am still running with all the above mentioned mods, so the install guide is viable.
  14. Try installing the game to a directory outside the program files folder. It is known to cause problems for windows vista and later versions of windows.
  15. Wouldn't you be able to just install this before Iron Sights and the Fallout Animated bridge?
  16. You need this mod. You need to extract it in your data folder and activate the archive invalidation file. That should make it work. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/944/? Here is a tutorial on installing mods. He installs archive invalidatoin in part I: Getting Started, but you should also check out the video on fose. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL77ECC4B6194E1685
  17. I've got the mods working, you should know that I'm starting to have stability issues with my save too, but I ran for a long time with FWE-EVE-Redesigned-MMM-WMK-RH_IronSights without any problems (20-30 hours). I just can't promise you that it isn't because of these mods, that I'm having problems. I think it is almost impossible to have this many mods without any instabilities. I installed FWE and MMM first. Then the merged version of EVE (from the EVE site). Then WMK with DLC compatibility patches. Then Foip WMK-FWE. Then I installed the Iron sights (not the mergers version) and the relevant bridges from that page (in my case IS-FWE and IS-Re-Animated and IS-EVE and IS-WMK). Then i installed the updated patch for FWE and Iron sights http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/17757/? and the FWE-EVE-DLC fix (Download PI for the merged EVE version) http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/18754/? and last but not least Blackened patches for the relevant mods. Check out my load order to make sure that everything is set correctly. Make sure that blackened is after your bashed/mergedpatch! Active Mod Files:
  18. Hey. I'm begning to have pretty bad stability issues in fallout 3. Even though it have tested one mod at a time before installing another I am getting problems 10 hours later. My save might be bloated, but it my mods might be that are bloating the save. I mostly get crashes that seem to be memory related, like infinite loading screens or black textures just before the crash. But the lat time i went to Springvale School i crashed as soon as i got near the building. I tried this several times with the same result. A few hours earlier I was able to enter with no problem. I use the performance version of NMC's textures. PC specs: Motherboard: M5A 78l-m lx v2 Gpu: Asus 660 gtx ocII cpu: fx-4100Ram: 8gb Active Mod Files: Any suggestions on what mods might be conflicting?
  19. Thanks mate! Your always good for at fast and helpful response. I'm pretty sure my cpu is bottlenecking in skyrim, cause i seem to have very low performance when a lot of npcs are on the screen. 8320 seems like a good bet and it nice to have the option to open up the cores later on, when some of the new games come out. Edit: If you have any recommendation for an intel processor and a motherboard, please feel free. It might give me some more options for finding something used.
  20. And I wouldn't have to get i new motherboard for the fx-8320 to be worth it's money if I disable the cores? Will i be able to feel the difference between the fx-4100 and fx-8320 ingame?
  21. Hey. I'm thinking about upgrading my cpu to another one and I want it to run well with bethesda games as that is what I mostly play :) I was looking at a Fx-8320, but I'm not sure how it will perform in bethesda games as they don't handle multicore very well. The next game might though... My price range is around the price of a 8320, but I might wait a little while longer and put aside for something better if i have to. I've also been told that the 8320 wouldn't run very well on my current motherboard. Should I save up for a new motherboard and go intel instead? My Current specs: Motherboard: M5A 78l-m lx v2 Cpu: Fx-4100 Gpu: Asus 660 GTX OCII Ram: 8GB something Power: EPS-650W Cheers!
  22. Edit: Thanks. Know anything about my second question?
  23. I would like to try and adjust the tri-beam laser for iron sights using this guide: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/181021-adjusting-weapons-for-iron-sights-in-nifskope/ But I can't find the .nif for the Tri-Beam. I am completly new to nifskope and modding in general, so this might be a stupid question, but you have to start somewhere. How do I find the correct file? Tri-beam: http://fallout.gamepedia.com/Tri-beam_laser_rifle_(Fallout_3) Another question. Is it possible to add iron sights to a weapon that the author hasn't made or can you only adjust his presets (or what you call it)? Cheers
  24. Hey. I've tried installing this sound mod http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/1287/? and this scope mod http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/9265/? , but they are not working. I have archive invalidation and corrected the FALLOUT.ini. My own theory is that it is not working because some of my esps are already using another file for these. These two mods don't use esps. Any fixes? Active Mod Files:
