  1. How did you solve this if you don't mind me asking? I'm having weird transparency issues with converting a mod to SSE, its something to do with the meshes I'm pretty sure. Any help would be appreciated.
  2. Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody has been able to copy the water flow data from SSE into an Oldrim mod. I figure it has to be some of the values under Worldspace and see what seems to be consistently different (albeit its an 'unknown' row so perhaps need an update) but other than that....it feels like 100s of edits that will take forever not to mention no specific 'water flow' record. What is the best way to go about doing this? Thanks

  4. aaaaaaahhhh k. thank you very much. Is there somewhere I can find out how to mess with those files? Do i just extract it from the bsa then manually mess with through notepad or something?
  5. I'm not sure exactly what could be the problem but I can assure you that a blue horse (or any other object) is due to a missing texture file. You've got a mod calling for a texture and it is missing it but it does have a mesh. That should get you started on the right path.
  6. Hey guys, I'm trying to make a follower that is a miniature mammoth and I've got it mostly figured out accept I cannot seem to find out what causes them to shake the screen when they walk. I've looked and looked for something resembling a shake screen function but couldn't find it. I thought it might be 'rumble' in the npc sound files but all the default ones are set to zero. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  7. So I uninstalled all my mods then put a vanilla Skyrim in my directory. After exiting and opening NMM back up, it appeared to reset the current profile to what was in my directory (Skyrim and the DLC). I had to load a profile that had about 75% of the correct mods up to get it running. Small error but a time consuming one. Just reporting, great job with .50!
  8. I dont know if this is the same problem, It just seems like it takes like a whole second to load in certain areas after the load screen. Especially in Whiterun, but it happens in a few other places. Not sure what the issue is though >.<
  9. My favorite is RealVision. It appears to be the most realistic and beautiful without much of a performance drop. I occasionally switch it up with a fantasy one, but always go back to the more realistic looking ENB's.
  10. May I suggest trying the game on High, disabling AA/AO, and using a performance ENB Series? Project ENB, RealVision both have performance versions. Ultra is very intensive on my 660. I've also downloaded custom ini settings for smooth gameplay
  11. Your probably missing the most important mod for graphics - ENB Series. Everything else is icing on the cake - warning - it will destroy your FPS
  12. I enjoy Legendary difficulty myself. Slowly calculating my next potion/resistence gear is really fun (sort of turn based) although nothing seems to be too tough at level 16 course I'm going at a snails pace, usually checking out the scenes and going on the side missions. I'm playing a vanilla gameplay style except for weightless potions/food and SkyUI.
  13. Interesting I shall try this sometime. I definately have played hardcore on Fallout - New Vegas (Hardcore/Hard with Project Nevada and FOOK) although I fast traveled - Skyrim legendary is okay once you get to round level 10, untill then it is stupid hard. I've been going for a vanilla experience recently, the only gameplay changing mods are SkyUI (if that counts), weightless potions/food (I found managing them to be unappealing), and the unofficial patches to avoid gamebreaking bugs.
  14. Use DynaVision - Its better. I dunno the answer to your question though.
  15. Glad to see it worked and your welcome :) I had this problem myself. Messing with uGrid values is tricky business. I'm not sure about the Automatic Varients issue, but atleast your on the right path to figuring out what may have been the original issue (which you probably fixed somewhere down the line without knowing it because you definately can't load a game with a higher uGrid value than what it currently is.
  16. That Papyrus log looked like mine not too long ago. it took a really long time to figure out what was causing the issue. I managed to find mod's that had put scripts in my game that were counting on DLC being there and others that were just buggy, bad mods in general. Now I litterally never get a CTD (knock on wood). I would find out what mod is causing your log file to spam Warning: Property InstrumentSound on script WTPlayInstrument attached to (5B4067E6) cannot be initialized because the script no longer contains that property this would be a start in trying to figure out what is causing the CTD. One trick that I found was reverting my skryim back to vanila then reloading the mods that I still wanted. It increased my FPS significantly and helped get rid of pesky scripts that may have not still be used. While you game does keep some scripts rolling on a saved game, it wont hurt ya to try it out.
  17. Did you properly reload your skyrim.ini when you changed it to 5? You cannot load a saved game where the Ugrid value was higher than the current uGrid value. you can load a game where the saved game was lower, but not higher than what it currently is (hence you probably didnt CTD when you loaded a saved game that had the uGrid value at 5 encoded in the save file). Also, I believe the cell buffers are dependent on what the Ugrids are based, I cant remember the exact calculation. to revert to a lower value, you need to change your uGrid value back to 7, tab out, change the value back to 5, delete or change the other cell buffers, tab back to Skyrim, use the refreshini command, then save the game. also I'm assuming you can run a fresh game with no problems?
  18. If your having trouble running other games at a high framerate, I believe the logical conclusion would be that there is something outside of Skyrim that is causing a performance issue. 20 FPS is way, way low. I dont like anything under 35, preferably 40 and above. I noticed that you have an older version of the Nvidia's driver, I would update that to the 320 version first. Next, check out your processes using Task Manager, make sure nothing is hogging your physical memory. Whats your memory and CPU usage sitting on idle? I'm sitting at less than 10% CPU usage right now and around 20% memory usage with several Chrome tabs open. Next I'd download something like Piriform Speccy (Ad-Ware Free, although it may ask when installing, just say no...been a while since I installed it, cant remember) and monitor the temperatures and make sure that all the correct hardware and drivers are showing up as well. I dont understand how it could be your integrated graphics card - less your set up is different than mine, I dont have the integrated card hooked up to my monitor at all. One possible issue could be a video driver that wasn't properly uninstalled - a driver sweeper could help get rid of old registry values left behind. There is a good program thats free that will do this, but its been a while since i've messed with those and seems like all the ones I saw last were trying to infect me with spyware, give me a program that does nothing then ask for money to use 'premium features' or something a long those lines. I'm sure theres a good one out there, though. If your still having issues, I find a fresh install of W7 or W8 is never a bad thing. I did about 2 months ago and noticed a huge improvement in performance on just about everything - I had let all sorts of programs clog up my resources and registry values creating lag everywhere.
  19. For whatever reason, character skin mods cause me trouble too. Getting multiples of them to work together is a real pain. I would just install them one at a time, make sure to read the descriptions along the way to find incompatibility notes, and find out which ones are giving you the problem that way. If you manually installed them, you'll have to get your hands dirty, find the textures/meshes etc and delete them. I ended up just using Dimonized/UNP for a long time and recently switched to the big bottom whatever mod (although the slim version).
  20. I would start with the ENB mods because they will be the most performance intensive but you really can't go without them. I'd go Vanilla with ENB before any of the multitude of texture/lighting/FXAA mods. Definately get SkyUI. That is probably the most important mod. I prefer the Lite version of the 2K textures just for performance. Static Mesh Improvement is nice as wel.
  21. I would HIGHLY recommend RealVision (Option A - Performance) - and yeah, you can only run one ENB at a time. You'll have to download the file from the ENB main site (.168 i believe), extract the d3d9.dll to your skyrim directory, then extract the whole contents of RealVision into your Skyrim folder. Get Climates of Tamriel and Realistic Lighting Overall and you should be golden. I've messed around with a lot of ENB's and this one is easily the best for its performance. I have a 660 and run around 50 fps in even the most flora heavy sections. Also, if your willing to do it, install all the optional mods as well listen on the ENB's description. One of the flora mods helps with FPS (sort of counter-intuitive, i know).
  22. This may already be out there, but I'd like the ability to move my camera around without moving my character as well at all times. Perhaps a hotkey to set it to unlock and go back to default settings. This is primarily for screenshot taking purposes (riding down a mountain I want to take a screenshot looking back at my character and so on)
  23. Modding can be tricky because many mods include scripts that stay in your saved game even after you've deleted the mod. STEP is the best resource for stuff like this. http://wiki.step-project.com/Main_Page
