In response to post #72686218. #72735413, #72830348 are all replies on the same post. Nope. That's not why. Try again.

In response to post #72686218. No. As I explained once before, these are people who have tried that approach before and found the developers unwilling to listen. Cue you assuming they were just being dense idiots though. Seems that's your fallback is to just call anyone who doesn't like Vortex for whatever reason an idiot. Your hammer and bolts analogy falls utterly short of the mark btw. That's not even close to a valid comparison. Also you are again conveniently ignoring the fact that I told you this isn't limited to just reddit users.

In response to post #72679968. I think you and HTR have both seized on a pretty minor part of my response. Reddit is far from the only place where I've seen these opinions expressed and I can tell you they are not serving to make people interested in using Vortex. They're instead making people interested in using pretty much anything else, including the community supported version of NMM. So, yes, while they are in fact talking about it, it's in a very bad light. IMO there is in fact such a thing as bad publicity. Word of mouth is powerful, but it can be used for "bad" just as effectively as it can for "good". And no, they don't just sit around in any of these places badmouthing software at the expense of everything else they could be discussing. It's mainly when the subject of modding tools comes up.

In response to post #72680328. I don't really see what my opinion of reddit has to do with their opinion of Vortex. So my mentioning that people outside of the Nexus garden don't care much for Vortex is somehow the same thing as my previous posts about the drag & drop issue? Um, no, sorry, but you don't get to lie and tell people those are one and the same. You'll note I never said WHY people elsewhere don't like it. So it's on you for assuming anything about my point. Which clearly shows you've never bothered to seek opinions outside of your insular group. IMO it's extremely obvious when a cult member is blindly defending his cult or cult leaders from outside criticism. So go for it. Keep at it if you like. Don't be surprised when others call you out on it though, as I can see they have been.

In response to post #72678468. Well, yes, most of reddit hates it. They're far from the only place where the opinion has been expressed multiple times and Vortex is largely ignored as a result. In some places, openly recommended against for various reasons. As I said, outside of the walled garden here, the opinions on these matters are drastically different. Oh, and if you really despise responding to my posts, for the love of God, why do you keep doing it?

In response to post #72653408. I'm gonna assume some of you guys here making replies like this don't frequent anywhere but the Nexus bubble because the statement they made about most people not liking Vortex is the prevailing opinion beyond this walled garden. I don't really think launching personal attacks at them is going to do much to change their minds either.

You should keep in mind that most mod authors pay no attention to posts found via Google that are more than a couple of months old. Everything you linked has dates back in 2017 which strongly suggests what caused it for them is no longer an issue. Also just because someone posts that something crashes doesn't mean anything outside of their specific setups having a problem. If it were some kind of inherent problem with that area of the game it would have returned THOUSANDS of hits, not just a handful since it's a main quest area you have to go through to finish the MQ.

In response to post #72522398. The other participants in that thread don't seem to share your opinion of what happened there so I think you're just seeing what you want to see, which is always the case with anything you post.

In response to post #72520523. Then why even bring it up if you haven't even bothered to go see what I actually said? Oh wait, because that's just what you do is throw around wild accusations about what you THINK people said and act like it's what they actually said. Which is highly amusing since you're accusing me of exactly that. Hypocrisy much? Nope, because if it were a person, posting to it on a forum is insufficient grounds to obtain a restraining order in any sane jurisdiction of law.

In response to post #72518033. Or we can continue to explain it to people who directly ask us about it whether or not you happen to like that. See how that works? Some of you people are worse than cult members.

In response to post #72466388. #72490168, #72503613 are all replies on the same post. We have. Said feedback was rejected as being hateful or needless complaining. So you can imagine why those of us who don't use Vortex because we don't like where it's gone are no longer interested in trying to offer these opinions to the developers or to staff. They're not interested.

Reddit does, and I think we can all see what a mess that's become.

The numbers don't support NV being more active than FO4 so I'm not sure where you're getting that from. The reason FO4 doesn't have a lot of bigger mods is because its CK is a lot more complicated to work with and certain tech decisions that were made for the game make large scale mods impractical. Which is why you ended up with a ton of weapon and armor mods with a pile of settlement mods thrown in for good measure.
-
In response to post #72459278. Oh, but you have, you are simply choosing to selectively ignore it when people tell you exactly what they mean by this and define it in clear and unambiguous terms. That's not a failure of evidence. It's a failure to accept it.

Acclaim? Do you realize how many MORE people were either indifferent to the game or didn't like it enough to post bad stuff about it? I think you underestimate how well Bethesda knows its audience. Their games are generally quite good even with all of the potential bugs. Mods may extend the life of said games for a certain amount of time but if the game itself actually sucked as bad as you guys are going on about here no amount of mods could save them from obscurity. The game has to be fundamentally worth playing before it's worth bothering to mod it.

How safe is it to campact ID's and esplify?
Arthmoor replied to Skinjack's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
As long as you don't need to compact them they should be fine to set the ESL flag on. -
I don't see anything that stands out in your load order and I've never seen reports of issues with the cells in Ivarstead before.
-
In response to post #72448278. Nobody made anything up. Go read the Vortex forums and Tannin's own statements on this. You'll find the only one making things up is Dark0ne trying to cover up the truth of what his own team has been saying.

Arthmoor replied to Skinjack's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
If it's not your own mod that you have yet to release, it's not safe to compact. There could be patches and other dependencies looking at the file that compacting will break. So you should stick to the ones xEdit or Wrye Bash says are safe to change the flag on WITHOUT compacting them. -
No, that's not what we're doing. Please don't play this kind of revisionist game with what we do. It irritates us when people say this sort of thing like we're out to make people do things. Bethesda updates the game. Our project's functionality depends on things not being mismatched so we have to account for what they do. Otherwise for the vast majority of our users, the "product" we put out would be broken. IMO this is a pretty weak reason not to update your game, but the good news for you is that it's also no longer a valid reason. He updated it.

In response to post #72419883. You are somewhat missing the point, yes. In order to get what you describe, you have to disable the autosort. Which means you'd have to go back to the way actual mod managers handle things and run LOOT externally to get that benefit, but the problem is that you're still generating rules for what you're asking of it when it would have been simpler to just stick to the standards the community has established and offer a proper drag & drop without compromising the integration with LOOT. If other programs can do this, surely Vortex can too? Unless of course, as the developers say, they've set out to change the standard for the sake of changing the standard. Which is something I'd expect out of Microsoft, not a mod installer.

In response to post #72411173. Well then take your own advice and STOP POSTING ABOUT IT. I sure as hell didn't ask you to come s#*! on my replies to other people asking questions so why do you feel you need to do so? As I said, people asked. I responded. I'm not just gonna stay quiet because you zealots don't like what I have to say. That's just not how it works. So if you don't like what I say, ignore it and move on. At this point you appear to be the only one trying to keep the controversy alive now.

In response to post #72406218. It's not an excuse. People asked, I gave my opinion. It's factually based and 100% valid. I do not need to meet YOUR standards for how long one needs to use Vortex to know it's lacking what I consider a basic necessary feature. It doesn't exist. So instead of just accepting what I have to say on that, you and your squad have resorted to name calling and insults. Typical of most Vortex fanbois I find. So how about you butt out if you have nothing useful to say in response to when OTHER PEOPLE ask me why I hold the opinion I hold. It's none of your god damned business unless you have an agenda to push and my commenting against that is bothering you. Take a nice long look in the nearest mirror pal. I ain't the one who's sitting here repeating the same nonsense over and over again. That would be you, lashing out at people in protection of your new toy. Can the staff and developers not defend themselves or something? Do they NEED you to intercede on their behalf every time? Cause frankly that's what's getting old is seeing you acolytes out thumping your bibles trying to forcefully convert the masses any way you can.

In response to post #72404973. Long enough to know what I said was 100% accurate. I don't need to have spent years learning it's many inner secrets to know this. So stop acting like that's the only thing that can qualify one to have a fact based opinion on the matter.
