Long 15 & Drywells Reborn Mod
sgtKraigO replied to aaronz12345's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
1. Agreed 2. Agreed, but keep in mind the NCR heavy troopers are mostly used for defense. You could have some rangers or troopers patrolling the area. 3. It's theorized that those are NCR vertibirds and that Obsidian was to lazy to slap on an NCR flag. Personally I would rather see the NCR with some landed vertibirds than have a cheesy quest where you have to go hunt down some Enclave. 4. Starting up your own caravan quest would be pretty lengthy and time consuming to create. I don't believe the area would be big enough (atleast from what I can tell in the pictures) for more than one bar/saloon, but even then it may seem squished in and out of place. Maybe instead investigate a trooper/caravan guard/merchant death because prostitution is illegal in the NCR. I like the idea of trying to find a legion spy in the base (This could tie into the murder quest e.g. the legion spy paid/blackmailed the person to kill the victim to throw an investigator off the spy's trail), but having legion troops attack an NCR base so far into California doesn't seem very lore friendly. -
technically that wouldn't be lore friendly seeing as the only thing that is considered canon in Fallout Tactics is the BoS civil war that leads to the losing side going east in search of tech, all else is considered non-canon.

NCR Occupy's Cottonwood Cover and I-15
sgtKraigO replied to Madamxx's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Ideas
And taking over Nelson, destroying Camp Searchlight so badly the NCR won't be able to go near it in a few hundred years, they sacked Ranger Station Charlie, kicked the NCR off the eastern banks of the Colorado river, and is a huge threat to New Vegas and every NCR state. Ya, pathetic... -
NCR Occupy's Cottonwood Cover and I-15
sgtKraigO replied to Madamxx's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Ideas
The Deathclaws are not the only reason, you're forgetting the Super Mutants and Nightkin at Black Mountain, Powder Gangers in and around the Correctional Facility and Vault 19, and the Fiends at Vault 3 and the surrounding area. Now once all of these threats are dealt with then they could start patrols, but it's a long strip of land with only Sloan between Primm and McCarran. That would be difficult to patrol and protect, especially since the NCR is lacking man power and resources. Now I would like to see this mod made, but I feel that it could easily become a non-lore friendly mod. I think who ever creates this mod should have it so that if the player clears out the entire area and the NCR moves in to protect it, they should have a very minimum presence and relies on some mercenaries to help patrol the road. As the player progresses through the NCR story and begins helping other bases and locations the I-15 begins to see more traffic, more troop patrols, less mercenaries (although still some), all while Sloan begins to grows and becomes a small town with a military outpost. As for Cottonwood Cove I would say it's probably best if it stays Under Legion control, other wise the troops on the west side of the dam would be cut off from the rest of the Legion. If the player killed off the troops there then I could see the NCR sending some troops there to hold it. Edit: I forgot about the Brotherhood of Steel. If the player chooses to create an alliance between the NCR and BoS it would be nice see BoS patrols along the I-15 as well as NCR patrols. -

An independent New Vegas mod.
sgtKraigO replied to devinpatterson's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Ideas
I can't see anyone settling the divide or even scavenging there. To hostile and rugged for people. -
If you want it I'm sure someone would be willing to make it (I lack the know how and time to do it). I'm just saying it wouldn't make any sense lore wise.
-
I'd imagine they would merge, if I remember correctly the outcasts believe they are the true BoS. But if they were in the Mojave, how did they get there from the capitol wasteland? Why did they leave it? How did they find the Mojave chapter since they weren't in the Mojave when they left for the east coast, especially since the Mojave chapter is in hiding.
-
The outcasts split from the DC BoS due to conflict in ideology, having them in the west coast wouldn't make sense since they share the same ideology. If you want the outcasts in the mojave that's fine, I'm just pointing out why that wouldn't make any sense.

An independent New Vegas mod.
sgtKraigO replied to devinpatterson's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Ideas
I can't see the brotherhood allowing the FoA or the OSI help them in Big MT. But I could see the player being allowed to tell the OSI or BoS about the place and help them set up a research outpost there. The player could be given an option to have the FoA help the OSI if they helped the NCR at the 2nd Battle of Hoover Dam. Nelson could be attacked by Nelson but I'd imagine the attack would fail depending on the strength of Camp Forlorn Hope. If Forlorn Hope can reinforce Nelson then the attacking troops will be routed and regroup around Techatticup Mine and digs in because they cannot escape. The NCR asks the player for aid to wipe them out since they can't do it for what ever reason (The only reason I can think of is the NCR commanding officer at Nelson was killed in it's defense). Alternatively you can capture a few who then tell the NCR information about Legion troops positions, terrain, etc. in Arizona. I never liked the NCR endings when it comes to Novac. They basically ignore the pro-NCR town that is on an important trade route and instead allows them to stay independent. Honestly I would love to see that changed and have them become apart of the NCR. About the legion attack on Novac, it's such a small target for the Legion I can't imagine them sending a lot of troops to attack the town. It would most likely end in legion defeat although if they control Helios One they may have been able to inflict more damage and causalities to the town. -
I think Someguy mentioned somewhere that he might adapt it for Fallout 4, from the list of mods on the Someguy series mod page it doesn't look like Martins Marines will get there own mod but they could be mentioned/appear in future mods. I wasn't expecting them to get their own mod, but I would like to see them have a role in another mod. Maybe even have the player fight for/against them.

When I read this I thought it would be cool and comedic (all be it morbid) if it was possible to shoot off a limb of an enemy and they wont die right away but if left alone they will rapidly lose blood and die. The amount of time they have depends on how much health they have when they lost the limb.

I've thrown a lot of ideas at Devinpatterson in his An Independent New Vegas Mod thread http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/691109-an-independent-new-vegas-mod/page-112. If you're up for a little reading (lol) then you could go through some of the ideas and see which ones you like and ask if he's going to be using them (Probably be best to ask him if it's ok too).

[WIP] The Runner-Runner Casino
sgtKraigO replied to BenTuttle90's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
The casino itself looks like it wont conflict with the Freeside restoration mod since it doesn't change the building that you're replacing. Could it be possible to have 2 mods? one with just the casino and the other with the casino and freeside cleaned up. Also not sure if you noticed but the guard kept disappearing in your video. -
I was thinking that it would open up another trade route to new vegas and Bonnie Springs wouldn't survive unless the courier helped out by taking out the creatures in the area. The only raiders in that area are the Powder Gangers who would be gone by then, and the Khans, who I could see attacking Bonnie Springs if they haven't allied with the NCR or decided to move.

How about the NCR occupies Vault 19 to extract the Sulfur for the war effort. They wouldn't need a lot of troops for this, mostly just a few scientists and some miners to populate the vault, it could also inadvertently populate Bonnie Springs. This could allow you to create a few quests as well since there are plenty of baddies in that area like cazadors, geckos, and some Death claws. You could also create some small animal pens to the north for Brahmin and Bighorners, this could be the towns export. Here are a few quests that I came up with, keep in mind that I just came up with them in the last five minutes so they maybe a bit dry. Kill X amount of cazadors between Goodsprings and Bonnie Springs (Optional: Destroy the nearby Cazador nests (this would be a more permenant solution)) Contact (Insert name) at the Crimson Caravan Company to notify them that Bonnie Springs is now populated and willing to trade Kill X amount of Deathclaws Deal with some raiders who are killing the Bighorners and Brahmin Talk to (Insert name) in goodsprings about setting up a well for Bonnie Springs Edit: The Vault would also need a doctor and a cook

I mostly agree.... if they are to assault something so close to the dam you should place some rafts and ladders down below (on the river) and the assault would basically be a suicide attack with the sole goal of demoralizing not holding the Ranger station. I think attacking further away makes more tactical sense.. they might hold it. They might be able to retreat if the counter attack is to vigorous. But I can see how a simple assault would be possible and the Legion seems to place little value on life. If they were to attack Delta it would be best to have an infiltration mission. This would demoralize the NCR far more then a suicidal assault on the station as it wouldn't give them the feeling of winning a battle. At Bravo the Legion would have more tactical maneuverability since it's more open and any NCR reinforcements would take a while to get there.

That's good to know. Also I was thinking, would it be better to move the attack of Ranger Station Delta to Ranger Station Bravo? Delta just seems to close to the Dam and Forlorn Hope for the Legion to launch a 3 sided assault on the place.

It's not working for me. Could it be because I have already completed the quest before downloading the mod?

Do you think this mod will conflict with any of these mods? http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/38651//? http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/40139/? http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/48646//? http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/45557//?

awesome thank you

I was thinking after they wipe out the Kings gang they have a few troopers patrolling the streets to protect their citizens. In my opinion this would make more sense since the attacks on NCR citizens would most likely rise after the Kings death.
-
Hey could someone replace the Kings with NCR Troopers? I always found it odd that after the player helps the NCR wipe out the kings nothing changes, there are still King gang members wandering around, and their are absolutely no troopers in Freeside.

Looks awesome! I have a question though, will it conflict with the NV Freeside Restoration mod? http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/42808//?
