  1. Personally I find smaller forgotten Mods and niche' Mods are more the go for a more realistic feel than the big all encompassing Mods and hand designing your Game piece meal...also means less stress on the Game. As a starter, check out the Mod Author Kryptopyr ...she has a range of 'Realism' Mods and her Mods have a good reputation for being sturdy and well made. DeathNeko was also a good realism Mod author, but he appears to have gone  And of course there's: Hunterborn... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/33201/? Dynamic Things... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32448/? Harvest Overhaul... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/16553/? Sneak Tools... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19447/? Vulture's Dynamic Realism... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/63077/? (I don't use this Mod myself, but it looks a promising possibility) One With Nature... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54090/? (I just found this Mod, looks promising, I currently use one called 'Pacifist', but might check out this one myself... Animals are not the psychotic crazies vanilla Skyrim makes them out to be) Perseids Inns and Taverns... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25029/? Scarcity... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49496/? (This Mod also includes a very good list of compatible Mods to go with it if you choose) As for lesser knowns: Skyrim Bandages... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35219/? (I use this rather than any Magic or Potions) Living off the Land... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34813/? (A forgotten Mod, but works well...as a stealth character using Kryptopyr's Stealth Mod I like the Scent Mask, feels a very realistic combination and makes sense to me) Hunter Traps... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12709/? (works well with Sneak Tools...dropping Oil all around the Bear Traps and lighting them up with a Fire Arrow as your opponents are slowed down by the Bear Traps) Better Bee Hives... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28392/? Armor Tree Perks Redone... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11111/? (I like this one because as a Light Armor user I sacrifice Protection for Agility, just feels more right to me...I have not used the Heavy Armor Tree so can not speak for it) Longer Durations and Annoyance Fixes... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54337/? (I have found a number of this Mods additions very welcome in my Game) More Hearts and Flesh... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8609/? (As a Poison's Bowman I found the lack of Hearts and Flesh ridiculous considering the amount of Bandits, etc... you kill) No Magic Ninja Dodge... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49808/? Honey Heals... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64066/? Bathing in Skyrim... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/60421/? (I like this one especially given I play a stealth character, aside from the Scent Masks in the above given Mod, to me it feels a necessity given the fact that with all his activities and battles the odor of sweat and blood would cling to him and so thus he bathes regularly to combat this) And any of the drinkable Water Mods, there are a few out there. I also use an Alchemist Tree Mod for more realistic Poison values, but is pointless unless you play a character who practices Poisons Alchemy. There is also an 'Intimidation' Mod on Nexus, allowing your Intimidation's to actually be successful if your Speech high enoughm I have been meaning to add it myself, but can't seem to locate it right now :( As someone mentioned earlier, there are also such Mods for Urinating and Defecating, but that depends on how far you want to take your 'Realism'... they do just result in more Scripts running in your Game though as a heads up, I personally wouldn't suggest them for that reason...There are also Mods for Animations for Flower Picking, Sitting, Idling, etc...a ton to pick from. As for such Mods as RN&D, iNeed and Frostfall, I don't use them myself due to the Scripting, they are simply too easy to RP in Game without the need for a Mod to enforce it...I tend to mostly use Mods I can't just RP, Needs Mods just really take a little discipline, such as Eating/Drinking regularly, Sleeping appropriately (I use a Bedroll Mod), not Fast Traveling, rugging up in the Cold and not idling around in the colder areas, etc...in fact I am still waiting for a 'Realistic' Needs Mod, as I have tried those Mods and found them more so punishments rather than realistic. I hope I have been of some help...good luck and have fun with your game
  2. I would like that also...considering my Canon Skyrim Dovahkin shares a a number of personality and strategy similarities with that Vidar build, reminds me of him...Silence would be perfect for my Dovahkin's RP
  3. The dark elves kept Argoanians as slaves  Oops! My bad  ...Then Dark Elves added to my list of least Favorites  ...Am still not big on Lizard People though ...Thank you for the correction
  4. Funnily enough, the Races I like the most are not always necessarily a Race I will play in Game, I tend to play male Nords and female Bretons. The Races I like the most are Nords, Orcs, Khajiits, Bosmer and if the Forsworn were a separate Race I would include them among my favorite Races also. Nords, because of their robust, fearless fight hard, play hard Culture and lifestyle. Orcs, also robust and fearless Culture and lifestyle and that Tribal element about them. Khajiits, what can I say, I like Cats  Bosmer, the whole Tree hugger element about them, being so deeply in touch with nature, etc...am not so enamored by the Cannibalism though  Forsworn, I like the strong Tribal element and the fearlessness, plus have sympathy for them...not so enamored by their blood rites and sacrifices though, or the worship of the aberrations of Nature (the Hagravens) they take all that pretty far :ohdear: My least favorites, would be the Altmer, Bretons and Argonians. Altmer, their arrogance and too much emphasis on Magic as their primary strength. Breton, too much emphasis on Magic. Argonian, just not big on Lizard People I guess and not impressed with what they did to the Dark Elves (slavery).
  5. It's specifically the open barrels I miss. I'm not sure they don't exist in Skyrim, but if they do they are very rare. I seem to recall them being very common in Oblivion, though. I dunno, something about tossing stuff into them felt gratifying. In all fairness, all you need to do is let him talk to you, then tab out without answering, and he'll go back to his stand and wait for you to go to him. He was really annoying until I figured that out, though. For that matter, the whole mage college thing is pretty insane. If you can pass the speech check, you can enter the college without knowing any magic at all, which I suppose is a good thing since it's required by the main quest unless you luck out and find what you need on your own. However, it's pretty crazy that becoming archmage only requires you to know three low-level spells. It's the sticking of his Quest in my Journal that used to irk me most...until a Mod to not trigger unwanted Quests and another that stops him from approaching in the first place :) ...Now I relish removing the TG's essential statuses and console unlocking the Cistern Door and my dovah wipes them all out :) Seeing the comment about the Mages College, that reminds me of another big bug I had with the vanilla Game :pinch: ...Game trying to force join the College to complete the MQ  a real breaker for RP  ...I finally found that Transmundane Guy and able to bypass the College...I tend to play Dovah's who do not touch Magic at all, in fact most are adverse to it...I use a Mod not that removes the starter Spells also, so no magic at all to speak of for my Dovahs.
  6. Perhaps try upping the Combat and Encounters challenge then? Such as 'Sleeping Dangers Sands of Time': http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12452/? That will force you to change strategy and how you approach the whole Game  ...
  7. In the vanilla Game: ` Quests you don't want being stuck in your Quest Logs due to passing too close to a Guard, etc... ` Insane Animals attacking everything that moves...including yourself... within line of sight...they all have Rabies perhaps? ` The Thieves Guild dude hunting you all over Riften trying to force Quest you. ` Not being able to complete the MQ if you don't kill Paarthurnax...I believe it should have been an option to tell Delphine to stfu in the vanilla Game. ` Lack of dialog options...being protagonist silent, they shouldn't be so limited. ` SERANA and everything about her  ...from the ridiculous dialog and actions limitations on meeting her, her childlike dialog and whining, her idle behavior and combat, forced BFF status with her, etc... ...Love Dawnguard, can't stand Serana  Thank the lord for Mods and our wonderful Modding Community
  8. notmyhome...a mostly lone Dovahkin play through is possible with SoT, Combat Evolved, DD (set to Swarms  ), etc... but I am very sure only certain play styles can do it with ability enhancing Mods and the right Weapon Mods...and a LOT of patience, especially if playing Perma-Death :ohdear: ...is my favorite kind of Game...Primary Skills, Stealth, Archery and Alchemy (Poisons)...Light Armor also in case you do get struck, though the whole point is to not get hit at all, especially not by Boss NPC's...And Mods that enhance Agility and Speed, make Poisons realistic and provide Ambush Traps..and the Van Helsing Crossbow, that Crossbow with Poisons is a show stopper  ...The great difficulty is enclosed tight spaces, like Crypts, etc...gotta have room to move and avoid close contact with NPC groupings, like the insane number of Draugr in SoT's Crypts, though their not so much the issue, it's the Spiders who force my Dovah to fall back on his Ring Summon Cat, those damned Spiders my Achilles Heel  lol...But anyway, a Lone Dovah is possible, but does take a limited Play Style type to achieve...and less SoT Spiders
  9. I prefer not to use Followers, their mostly as annoying as heck, but I do love my game very challenging...mostly try to do it alone, but once in a while I may pick up Stenvar or Hoth for a change of pace and a bit of a breather, but the best Follower I have come across so far is a Ring Summoned Sabre Cat...is available if I run into any real trouble, over run, or Dragon distraction (I like my Dragons in swarms :)...)...The Cat is great because his only there if I really want or need him, so doesn't tend to be a nuisense and can get him out of the way if he gets in the way, is the perfect Follower :)
  10. If you have any of your Fus Ro Dah Shout, just the first word is enough, you can detonate the Rune's .
  11. Favorite Follower: Stenvar hands down! :woot: ...I enjoy his dialog and his battle style, works flawlessly with my preferred battle style...and makes a mean looking team with my Dovahkin  Favorite Character: Isran, would have loved more dialog from him and if the Game had offered him as a Follower ...am now thinking about trying what Sloppy has done and console Isran as a Follower, though would wait until after completing the Dawnguard myself  I also like Erik the Slayer, but won't use him as a Follower with my RP's, is too green for my Dovahkins, they wouldn't take someone not already battle hardened. Also like Captain Aldis, I don't know why, just do. Durak, another I just like. Madanach and Kaie...I like the Forsworn as a whole really. Their all the favorites who come straight to mind anyway
  12. If you're using the circumcised version, this Mod is good: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26145/?
  13. A lone stealthy, Light Armored Ambusher/Traps Setter, Poisons Archer, including using the Bow in Melee...Bow Bash and Stealth Roll are awesome for Melee  ...I like having to rely heavily on tactics and strategy, always gotta have a plan with a lone squishy when playing perma-death and using Mods that up the AI Combat and add many more hostile NPC's...always having to think ahead, carefully scope out situations, check numbers, make plans of attack, etc...
  14. Vram...A Mod to sort out the suicidal beasts of Skyrim :) ...works very well, I have been using it for a long time, only works on the vanilla Skyrim Critters though: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/21183/?
  15. I like Vilja, an expansive and well fleshed out character, with many options and a lovely voice... but unfortunately her story arc is very limiting to the Dovahkin's RP, your Dovahkin really does need to fall into a fairly narrow RP range to play comfortably with Vilja, unfortunately my Dovahs tend to fall into an RP spectrum very at odds with Vilja. Though I generally prefer male Followers (if I use a Follower or two), favoring Stenvar and Hoth, I wouldn't mind checking out this Sofia, see if she fits my RP's. :)
  16. Yes, Leather Armor existed (Boiled Leather) and was more than adequately effective, what the OP was referring to is Fur, Hide and Studded Leather....Studs were used to fuse pieces together, but not as Armor in and of themselves, in fact they were more a liability than a help.
  17. I wish there was a 'like' Button, so Kudos given in it's place :)
  18. The old adage is 'if you don't like them, don't use them' and that should be enough said, but I am going to go on. There are many number of 'Realism' Mods available, because many players want realism in their games...there's RND, iNeed, Frostfall, Wet and Cold, Locational Damage, a number of Combat Mods aiming for realism, a number of Skill Mods seeking the same and there are also the Sex Mods, Body Mods, Bathing Mods, Peeing Mods, etc...How are they any different from the other 'realism' Mods? Their not realistic all of a sudden? O.o I am a happily married 40 odd years old mother of three and I use a number Realism Mods in my Skyrim Game, that includes Body Mods, Sex Mods, etc...and I am also not aware of 'fapping' to any of my game content, nor do I have much interest in watching Porn Video's and my private life is fine with my partner thank you very damned much. In fact I was very happy when the Sex, etc...Mods finally appeared, as I do like my realism very much so in my games. Thank you to ALL those wonderful Modders who have given me the opportunity to add all these realistic needs and wants to my game. :)
  19. Personally I would gladly accept unvoiced dialog if it gave me real options in dealing with Serana... I think for Vamp Hunters who choose not to trust Serana (I still can't understand how quickly and easily people choose to trust her), what could be a viable option would be an aggressive stance towards Serana and she needs to flee for her life and the Gargoyles there are re-set to attack only the Dragonborn and any Followers he may have, letting Serana pass by them safely, once she is out of sight of the player she is transported to a waiting cell until queue time for her to appear at Fort Dawnguard, with silent dialog added in interaction at Fort Dawnguard also to reflect what took place at the Crypt. Or alternatively, the Dragonborn takes her to Fort Dawnguard instead of the Vamp Castle and Serana is interrogated, etc... by Isran and Co. with Isran finally ordering the Dragonborn to escort Serana to the Vamp Castle, Isran having decided the risk of letting one Vamp go is worth the chance on the information he has recieved from her. Though the Elder Scroll becomes a problem with this second scenerio, the Dragonborn may or may not know what it is Serana carries on her back (mine never do, never gotten far enough into the MQ by then to have come across one or know what one looks like), but what it is would by all rights be discovered under interrogation... so I'm a bit stuck on why Isran would let her walk with an Elder Scroll. As for Obstinate Novice's thoughts, I hadn't thought of the Dawnguard from a Vamps perspective (am always a Werewolf or Human)... You have raised some very good points, the question now is how could such a scenerio be Modded? As the train has left the station in regards to the Dawnguard, I agree 100% the writing is shoddy, I think Bethesda was relying on their Serana creation being loved by all to be honest...And so what can potentially be done by the Modding Community to incorporate such a scenerio as you have put forward?
  20. 'Ultimate Deadly Encounters', it'll keep you on your toes  http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12452/?
  21. Sis actually, but that's just semantics  ...probably explains my fussiness over how pretty the Armor happens to be too...lol... ...Thanks again
  22. Perhaps is why he is always in a bad mood and so quick tempered, fleas driving him nuts
  23. I know what you need! Ritual Armor of Boethiah! http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/24814/? It dark, made of scales and skulls. If you like dragonscale armor this will suit you well. That Armor is awesome! :woot: ...My Werewolf never touches enchanted gear...or Magic...but that Armor is too perfect and too well done to pass up, it looks amazing  ...He also has a very tough bunch of Silverhands always trying to hunt him down, Mod introduced, the Bosses are tough as nails, would love to see how the 'Despair' works in his Battles with them :D ...He also doesn't help Daedra, or Aedra either unless their Hircine or Kyne...so think I would have to console the Armor, but will find a decent story for him coming up with it. Thank you Boombro
  24. I think heavy armor suit werewolves more, as for the theme of strong unbeatble beasts. With two daggers as fast claws! If you want more wild armors look up the bosmer armor pack and beast masks. The Tank Werewolf, I can see what your saying...though my preference is the Stalking Ambushing Werewolf, the 'you don't know his there until it's too late' kind of Hunter. The Bosmer Armor Pack catches my interest, thank you  ...still wearing a little too much (looking a little on the heavy side) but am taking a close look and see what all these parts break down into. The Beast Masks are not him, but will be following for other kinds of characters I may make...Thank you Boombro
