  1. Skyrim is a very good Game with Mods, being able to create worlds and with so many choices and ways of doing things, I love the Game...
  2. I would love to see a separation between the MQ and other Quests, such as cdCooley has done with 'Season Unending', I would also love to see the same done with the Mages College and the TG, not have them forced upon us...I have learned how to circumvent the MC and TG, but a number of Players would not...and it is a shame gotta Meta Game to avoid the College especially. If the Mages Librarian could be spoken with without having to join the College would be a great step up and make a lot more sense for non Mage Dovahkins.
  3. I have a question for those who know their Tamriel History (I'm vague on it)... Who were the first Races/People to settle Skyrim...The Orcs, Reach Men or Nords? I am not taking into account the Snow Elves or Dwemer due to the fact that one is decimated to the point of Genocide and the other has disappeared. I am asking due to a debate approached a few pages back.
  4. Boombro is spot on...Me, I'm hopeless with Computers
  5. How's Nature of the Beast working for you? It's so... frighteningly huuuge. So many scripts running, so many changes to levelled lists. I'm quite hesitant to install it. I deactivate most of it, which can be done in it's Menu...I use only the 6th Sense Adrenaline Surge and Enhanced Hearing, everything else is turned off. I like all the Senses range but choose only one and from what I can tell the Enhanced Hearing is the lightest among them. As I also run Ultimate Deadly Encounters, an extremely large Scripted Mod, I try to keep anything else I use down to a dull roar...a very small number of small light weight Texture Mods and any other larger Script event Mods I use are all only in use when manually activated over a short space of time. My Game is running solid, did CTD 3 times over a space of 8 hours when my latest Mod LoadOut was first installed, but has been running solid since then with no hiccups. I don't use Mods like Frostfall, Realistic Needs, Footprints, etc...I can RP freezing conditions and Needs without the use of Mods and do...just using Mods I can't produce or RP in my Game without their help. Like most people I think taking notice of this thread I like my Realism (as much as can be done in game) and hard challenges where you really need to stop, think and plan instead of just running in helter skelter and OP'ing it...I just hand build mine using a selection of Mods rather than one all encompassing Mod
  6. If you're interested, though I don't use Requiem myself, I use an alternative *ss kicking Mod :) ...there are two very small Mods I use that do give the opportunity to dodge these Shouts: Martial Arts: The Front Flip only File: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9421/? Armor Tree Perks Redone: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11111/? A combination of these two Mods gives me a fast agile Dovahkin :) There is also Nature of the Beast which I have recently added to the mix...the Adrenaline Surge... though you may consider it over kill: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/20721/?
  7. Note that in Morrowwind I was just as critical of Dunmer prejudices. The moment you say 'they are all' you are falling into the same trap they have fallen into. Otherwise you end up condemning individuals like Irileth or Tolfdir with the same brush. My reference was to general Racial attitudes, not individuals...though point taken and thank you for raising the distinction, I wish more people would know this.
  8. Dragons Hunt in Swarms: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13534/? Check where it says 'Notes on Dragons vs Dragons' ...Last time I used the Mod it works well, I am going back to this Mod myself in fact, I enjoyed the mixed Passive and Aggressive Dragons.
  9. I have found the only sure fire way to avoid Vamp attacks...well, has worked for me...is never enter a Town between Dusk and late Dawn...But if you Fast Travel, Carriage Ride or have a House in a Town I am guessing that could be difficult to time. Other than that, I think the only way it can be dealt with is Mods...These Vamp attacks were a very bad choice on Bethesda's behalf :(
  10. As someone who works extensively with minority groups, I can tell you now your statement is false...I see loathing of one's own Racial Group on a regular basis among People who face regular discrimination from the majority Racial Group around them, they end up joining the majority in attacking their own Race in attempts to disassociate and not be targeted. So 'no' Brelyn's attitude can not be taken as accurate information on the state of the Dunmer in Windhelm. As for the Racism in the world of Tamriel, they're all as bad as each other, the Nords, Dumner, Altmer, etc... are all guilty of rampant Racism, not that it makes it right at all.
  11. How about Paarthurnax? I think he can be a likely candidate.
  12. You could always just console the "addtofaction" command and add yourself to the Necromancer Faction, I have done that in a few Games with the Bandit Faction and works fine. There is also a Mod available on another Site, that allows you to play a wildling type character, turns almost everyone in game against you (can't enter Towns, Hunters, Guards, general NPC's, etc...) all attack you on sight unless you are wearing a disguise Hood you have to find, though it is a Custom Race...have never tried the Mod myself, just know of it.
  13. I have played way too many hours of Skyrim  ...since release date, started out on XBox and within the first year moved to PC, a much better gaming experience with Mods. I started off with Fast Travel until I also finally realised more fun can be had with just jogging everywhere on foot...I use Fast Travel now for three annoyances in game, otherwise it's meandering on foot and I find it much more enjoyable personally...plus I have Mods that add more experiences on the road and so no trip is ever dull. As for the 'glitches' ...I 'save' before going through any loading door and find so far that has taken care of and corrected well over 90% of any Game hangs or glitches I come across...Just go back to the previous load before the last loading screen and most glitches tend to self correct.
  14. From what I have observed (am older female Gamer) I think people get this impression because as a general rule (not all) Men have a tendency to take more chances and not get quite so emotionally involved with the Characters they create, Women (once again as a general rule) tend to be more cautious and connect more so with their characters emotionally...and so thus reflected in their Game and how they approach their choices in Game, giving the impression of greater care and strategy.
  15. This is my take also...I love immersion in game and realism, it's what floats my boat. My most played Character has the appearance of a man in his early to mid 30's and is also the only character I use this "cheat" on (yes, have played him a number of times, I like his story, personality and RP)...As a man of such age in a land like Skyrim I couldn't imagine him still breathing if he was still unskilled. I level out his chosen Skills and Perks and play him as a honed, seasoned Warrior....I find the skills grind very immersion breaking and unrealistic when playing such a character. And so I console and Mod the Game I want and RP the hell out of it...also to counter short comings in the vanilla game, such as he will collect certain chosen ingredients or items, then sit and wait for a few hours, when the wait is finished I then console add what he created...such as Arrows...and dump the collected ingredients in the nearest unsafe Barrel, etc...He can do things without the need for special stations, such as create Poisons with Mortar and Pestle in the middle of nowhere, Smith and improve Leather (I imagine with Awl, new leather and Sinew), RP'ed as carrying a Whetting Stone to sharpen his Weapons, etc...things that I feel he should really be able to do with out the need for large, heavy equipment. I think the only "cheat" in such Games as Skyrim (Single Player) is to OP the character and leave no challenges in the game for yourself, I don't see the fun in that personally (but some people enjoy that and that's fine, it's their game)...I love a challenging game, want to go hard, play smart and work my *ss off for survival, playing Perma Death and adding Mods that introduce hordes of deadly NPC's helps that play style along  I perhaps take my 'realism' too far (as far as it can go in a Game anyway), but is what makes me happy and enjoy my game. Removed all his Magic, no Spells for him to use, no Healing Potions (relies on Bandages and never applied during combat), no Buffer Potions, no Enchanted items...Each to their own
  16. I prefer CBBE...though both CBBE and UNP are more fantasy ideals than realism (aka: the waist) both also represent certain realism ideals, the CBBE more voluptuous, the UNP is thin...also the UNP has a higher polygon count from what I have heard. I personally don't like how thin the UNP is, looks too thin and unhealthy to me, as it is I broaden the waist and add a little weight to the stomach on my CBBE in the Bodyslide in an attempt to head more towards realism and a healthier appearance...It all depends on the look you personally prefer.
  17. What Oubliette says...And so here is a Beard and a Brow Mod for Males Beards: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28363/? Brows: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30411/? As for Bodies, though SoS and SAM are the latest, they do effect the performance of your Game, if you run a heavy game I would suggest staying with the FavoredSoul or Sundracon instead, both found in this Mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/2488/? As for matching body to face skin...you already have Fine Faces by Urshi, he also has matching Body skins.
  18. Nature of the Beast :) http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/20721/?
  19. Funny that, when I make a female character she is the opposite to me also, my girls are always short, buxom and hour glass, complete opposite to me.
  20. This one sounds something like what you are looking for I think: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36514/?
  21. Am a female who prefers playing males, sometimes I will play a female character, but am unable to immerse myself and so tend to just fiddle around in those games and quickly get bored...but my male is for my serious gaming and immersion. I RP him to the hilt, he has an intricate and fleshed out back story and defined personality, morality and character, I enjoy him...I play in third person and perhaps that has something to do with it, would rather watch him run around than a female, he is created to have a face pleasing to me, handsome, I enjoy him all around...the immersion in him, his behavior and personality, his appearance.
  22. Yes, the only way to get Shouts is to kill Dragons and absorb their souls. But then, I have played for hundreds of hours while completely ignoring the main quest, using camping and multiple follower mods, building stockades and strongholds all over the place. For a Healer, I would swap Pick Pockets for Enchanting, as rings, circlets, robes etc with enchantments to boost magicka, stamina and Illusion would be of great benefit. I suppose reverse Pick Pockets could be used to put a potion of Pacify in someone's inventory. Some people have used that to poison targets, but I think Enchanting would be more useful. Although, coming by the filled Soul Gems would also be a problem for a non-combatant Healer. How does the OP feel about using multiple followers to do the killing for you, and you just heal and buff them like a Healer Cleric in AD&D? I found the Pickpocket rather useful for a few quests once her stealth was up, such as her having to pickpocket a Bandit for keys to proceed, etc...The Bandit I remember well because she took his coins too while she was there and though he didn't react to her at the time a few days later some Hired Thugs turned up, she pacified them and picked their pockets also  ...the Note and their coins  ...she was a lot of fun
  23. I did a Pacifist run and though she didn't kill anything I would imagine her Skill choices would work for a Healer also...I managed to get her into the mid 20's level with great success, but then I started the MQ and the Dragons were her undoing, I couldn't find a way to passively get around them....but until then she did manage many quests and exploration without killing anyone (beside one accidental death, Bandit fell from a height due to her activities)...These are the Skills I focused on: Illusion Alteration Restoration Stealth Lock Picking Pick Pocket Speech I did have to use a Mod Perk Tree to boost the strength of her Illusion though for a successful Play through...and console up her Magicka Pool.
  24. From what I understand, what you're playing is a Paladin? My favorite character destroys the TG also, though he as a lone wolf and just does things at his own whim (doesn't do to help others, he does for the challenge) I found the Mod didn't suit his persona, so I just have a list of their ID's and change them all to 'unessential' and console unlock the Cistern Door...the funny thing is I find they put up a greater and harder fight than the DB...though by not using the TG Mod and having a Mod that stops Brynjolf from approaching you, Brynjolf does get away with his life, because my character has no idea who he is...same with Cicero, Cicero lives for that reason also. As for the Companions, my character is a Werewolf from the start of the game (I infect him in Helgen) RP'ing him as a born Werewolf of another obscure Race (Werewolf Race) and have a Mod that gives him an enhanced sense of Smell that informs him the Companions are Werewolves...he doesn't join the Companions, sees them as impure (as diseased forms only), as such I think he should destroy the Companions, but I haven't been able to get past my liking of Kodlak. Paarthurnax, I use the Paarthurnax Choices Plus 3 Mod, I prefer it because it doesn't give an option to make all parties happy, it's either Paarthurnax or the Delphine/Esbern, can't have both...Delphine/Esbern are either told to stfu or are killed. I am not really understanding why you wipe out the Mages College? My character doesn't join them, he has no Magic to speak of (starter Fire and Healing Spells removed by a Mod), he abhors Magic, won't use enchanted items either, nothing Magical of any kind...but has never thought to kill the Mages at the College, just ignores them. Why do you say they're a threat? Am curious, you may change my RP on my decision to leave them alone :) Yep, no work for the Daedra either, that includes Azura for him, though will do the Meridia Quest and as a Werewolf he does worship Hircine, though also worships Kyne. Also as a Werewolf and a Nature Man (have a Mod that allows him to get along with Spriggans) I RP him with a deeply embedded hatred for the walking dead, that includes Vampires...if he smells a Vampire, they die, he is very one eyed about it. That makes Serena difficult to RP with, he should really kill her on the meeting, but can't :( ...I feel the Dawnguard are very much him, is the one faction he will join and so have to work around the Serana issue...He never takes her straight home, always goes to Isran first and Isran gives him the order to take her home, thus he follows the order (a bit of a pain when you don't Fast Travel, but oh well)...So is RP'ed to work with her begrudgingly, doesn't befriend her and always slits her throat or rips her heart out (Mods) as soon as she is no longer needed...Leaves Valencia in the Soul Cairn, just doesn't go back in there. I enjoy reading other peoples play styles, RP's, etc... Thank you for sharing yours :)
  25. Its a game lol. What you do in a game doesnt determine your character or morals in real life. I Have never played any game and thought to myself "hmm this doesnt seem right" lol. Its just a game. There are those who get involved in their characters, RP'ing them to the hilt, etc... as one, I don't find any joy in playing the DB or TG either, I end up really not liking the character I made and loose interest in them fast...I can play an amoral character, but not an immoral one, I just don't like the character and don't enjoy them.
