I can't guarantee this will work, but you could try looking up the quest id for whatever you need and using the console to complete it. To use the DB, you would enter into the console: setstage db11 200 Which would complete the final quest in the DB's main questline. NOW, this may or may not work for what you are trying to do, I've never tried doing this, and for the Dark Brotherhood Resurrection mod, I don't know what the quest requirements are for that mod to work properly and sometimes Skyrim gets mad when you try and skip ahead like that. For example, I can tell you that using the console to move through the Civil War causes a lot of problems. Anyways, that's my suggestion.

So, it won't use any of the Vampire Lord spells, or no spells at all?

Should I clean mods with tes5edit?
saurusmaximus replied to morogoth35's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The best way to be sure is to check the mod's page on the nexus and see; some authors will post if they know the mod is dirty, often it's because the mod is a WIP. On the other hand, some authors are just too lazy to do it themselves. You could try PMing the author if you're really worried about it. Worst case scenario: you clean the mod and it gets pissed off as a result, so you redownload it and move on. -
Anyone else make their carry weight super low for realism?
saurusmaximus replied to CherryBelle's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Don't forget that gold is heavy in real life, but weightless in the game. My current character has like 72000 septims right now which, if he were actually carrying that around, would weigh several tons and probably take up most of the back end of a carraige. I guess you have to draw the realism line somewhere... -
The short answer is no, a better video card will not help you with scripts. Those are handled by your CPU, and even that is limited by the game engine. Which is why, if you read any of the troubleshooting posts here, everyone harps on about getting your load order just-so; it's so all those scripts don't trip over themselves. If you are getting good framerates, other than in your house, your video card probably isn't the problem. And it probably isn't, because alot of folks here use that same video card with no trouble. As far as crashing in your house goes, I'm not familiar with that mod, but even if it is full of high-res textures, you shouldn't be crashing. In my experience, if I got too much visual stuff going on, my framerates plummet and I get a lot of stuttering, but the game goes on. Before you spend your green on a better video card, try the script-cleaner recommended above, and also the Skyrim Performance Monitor http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/6491/? to see what your system is doing.

Increasing your games difficulty to Master or Legendary will help to start. In my experience, it's best to not temper any follower's weapons as they get too powerful. Ditto with enchantments, though I do like to enchant armor with things like increased health/stamina just so they stay in the fight longer. I will also occasionally give a mage follower some increased magicka enchantments if they seem to be running out too quickly. The one difficulty mod I've used is this onehttp://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40491/? because it's script-free and it doesn't mess with any of the vanilla game's mechanics, it just makes the bad-guys tougher.

Glad you got it working! Be careful, that console is a dangerous place!

You might be obsessed with Skyrim when...
saurusmaximus replied to OnlyOneWing's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I had another real life one yesterday: I was in a conversation with a co-worker, and instead of protesting with a "Oh, God no!", I said "Oh, Gods no!" . Which led me to the thought that maybe it's time for a new hobby.... Which leads me to another one: When you try to play a different video game, but give up because "this interface isn't the way Skyrim does it!". My life is sad  -
What, exactly, did you do to get the damage that high? Did you modify the weapon itself, or your skills?
-
Try disabling your mods one at a time to see if the problem disappears. When you can launch, you found your culprit. Usually, there is a missing dependency in cases like this. As far as the Miraak thing goes, I've had it too, it seems to be one of those bugs that refuses to be squashed.

How do I delete my game (and mods) but keep my Saves?
saurusmaximus replied to Hawk7777's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The easy way if you're worried about it would be to copy your savegames to a flash drive, uninstall/reinstall, then move them back. -
I would like to say, for the sake of your sanity, that if your character is seriously OP, you are going to have this problem again. For whatever reason, major bosses (Harkon, Miraak, etc) tend to bug out if you kill them too quickly. I know, because I've had this problem too. Just a friendly heads-up.

15? You have the patience of a saint, my friend. I don't need 60, or even 40, all the time but that would drive me nuts.

They actually did quite well in setting up the stories with variable endings for a clean continuation. Regardless of who you choose in the Civil War, the fighting continues. Just say both Tullius and Ulfric are dead, and the conflict continues. With the Dark Brotherhood... Regardless of if you side with them, or kill them, the Falkreath sanctuary burns and most of its members are killed. The survivors can kill Mede regardless. Whether you side with the Dawnguard of the Vamires, Harkon is defeated. Skyrim actually has no loose ends that really need tying up... You make a good point, other than the civil war; I'm not sure I would call a never-ending conflict a tied-up thread. I don't know what the time-line for TESVI is, but if it's more than a few years, that would be a hard sell. I suppose you could do a Korean-war type thing where the war stagnates instead of stops.

I'm a little afraid of what would have happened to the poor sap if were a Warhammer fan instead... LOL, she was an old lady, I would have restrained myself. The look on her face was reward enough, I think she knew I was having her on, but she wasn't sure how. -
I'm not positive on this, but I believe that has to do with the AI package she was set up with. Serana does the same thing. As far as mods go, I'm not sure; I know AFT modifies sandbox behavior to some extent, but I cant remember how much, I haven't used it in a while. Hopefully somebody else can chime in.

No, it does not NEED co-op. However, I do recognise there is an inexplicable body of individuals who, for some reason, want it. Fine, that's your perogative. I would personally rather time be spent on some more meaningful fixes and concepts, but... Eh... That said, Diablo's multiplayer is an absolutely horrendous base for any multiplayer in a game like TES. The only model I have seen which may work is Farcry 4, though that system still has problems. Look, story telling, decision making, quest and mission activation... There a a number of high hurdles to get over to make multiplayer in TES viable, considerably more above that to make it good. And all that word will, WILL come at the expense of other things. I agree. If you go back to when Arena was introduced, it was made as an open-world game that you explored on your own and they have kept to that. As to your "if you don't like it, don't touch it' comment goes, they would to have to gut the core game to make the co-op work, so even if I never use co-op, I will still be suffering for it.

Some of the loose ends, like the Civil War, could be tied up with careful writing. To use the Civil War as an example, they could have it where the war was decided, but at a later date the people of Skyrim decided they wanted to be a part of the Empire after all (or not). I realize that example does NOT count as careful writing, but you get my point. On the other hand, considering that the next installment of TES (and likely the one after that) won't be set in Skyrim, or even have anything to do with it, it really doesn't matter who wins the Civil War. Yes, it leaves a hole in the lore, but in the grand scheme of things, it's a small one. At least for now. The Dark Brotherhood is trickier because they either, were destroyed or, they killed the Emperor; it will be interesting to see how they handle that one.

Started new game, what quest mod should I do?

Falskaar and Wyrmstooth are both a must IMHO. Helgen Reborn isn't too bad either. -

When a Jehova's Witness tries to hand you a pamphlet and you say "Sorry, I worship Talos" (yes, I actually did this once). -
That depends on how crazy you get with things like texture mods and grass and flora overhauls. If you go nuts and upgrade every single thing you see in Skyrim to 4k along with a really lush grass overhaul and a heavy ENB, then yes you will have stuttering issues. Be reasonable about it. I use Skyrim 2k textures (I use the "lite" version for the outdoors stuff), SFO, WATER, a couple other small retex mods and RealVision ENB and I get 45-60 FPS, depending on where I am and I'm using a much weaker card than you will be. The nice thing about texture mods is that if you do go overboard, it's easy enough remove them.

I've actually done this with EFF. Everyone's rig is different, but on my system going over about 25 causes so much stutter that the game isn't fun to play anymore. Plus, with that many, only about half will ever actually get into most fights because the ones in back are so far behind. Also, doorways become a real pain; if you're going to do this, get used to the tcl command. That being said, I second the above comment that 5-10 is the max to have actually following you at any one time; any more than that and your game starts to get laggy along with the issues I already mentioned. As far as followers go, Mirai is a great choice; she uses her own follower AI and she's custom-voiced. The vampire version of Victoria Velina is a WIP, and she's a little OP, but she's also custom-voiced (and a smokin-hot voice it is). I also recommend Selene Kate, she's a must for me just for the healing and buffs she will cast on you. If you just want pretty, anything by VRApollo/VRDaphnie is a sure bet. For follower mods, AFT is the best one as far as managing followers goes. You can only have 5 following you at once, but it will manage up to 32 and it handles custom-voiced followers well. EFF allows up to 100 followers, and if your system can handle it, they can all follow you at once. However, by default it doesn't work well with custom-voiced followers; if you go this route, be sure to get the mind control spell as that allows you to manage those (sort-of). There are others out there, but I've either never used them, or didn't like them enough to keep using them.

Not to lecture you, but before you download a mod, it's an absolute must that you read the description to find out what the requirements are. As you have now learned. Reading your post, it sounds like you had something that requires FNIS that you didn't uninstall properly, Dual Sheath Redux is the most common mod for that, though there are others. Running BOSS or LOOT will also tell you if you have any missing dependencies. So, the first thing I would do is run LOOT on your load order. If you don't have it, google it, read the how-tos, then use it. Start a new game, and see what happens. If you still have issues, disable ALL of your mods, start another new game. If all is well, quit, add in ONE mod, and start again. If all is not well after starting with no mods, post back with your load order and a papyrus log if possible, and we'll see what we can do.
