  1. Cryolator works fine with companions. You'll probably want a mod that gives them infinite ammo though.
  2. Working vehicles are definitely a thing in the overall setting. Back in Fallout 2 there was a quest to fix up a Highwayman. All it did was speed up your overland travel, but it did establish that it was possible. The other source of tire tracks that we should really be seeing is wagons, often made from old vehicles. Again, these were a common sight in the elder games, but Bethesda has gone the route of not even implying that there is something besides foot travel and packing things on top of brahmin. As for TVs, well, there doesn't really need to be a working broadcast station if there are in-home media players that can connect to it. So it could be both for light and for entertainment, whether someone got those up and running or not (which I doubt, the commonwealth doesn't really seem to have their s#*! together at the point we jump in). Now, realistically, none of this stuff should be working, and most of Boston should be a pile of unidentifiable rusted hills due to the moisture and high salt content associated with being a coastal location, but, you know, meh.
  3. You can give this a try. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/29709 If you want something lighter than SKK's mod, to just make sure attackers aren't getting into your crops so much, try this https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/25762 I think Sim Settlements' crop plots are also indestructible, but you'd have to double check that.
  4. If you're on PC just open the console with "~" and type "tfc", that puts you in a free-flying camera. "tfc 1" also pauses the game world, so you won't get attacked, and can get some nice clips of action without having to time it so perfectly. You can also use "tm" to hide the hud, but be warned that it also hides the console, so you won't be able to see it when you type that again to turn it off. I'm not sure how much control you get over your character when in that camera mode, but give it a shot and see what you can do.
  5. I'll just drop this here. Marked for Termination "One cyborg is the bad guy, it will attempt to track you down no matter where you go in the Commonwealth and attempt to kill you. It is nearly indestructible, your goal is to escape its wrath and survive. When not in combat, the cyborg travels the map at walking speed to make evading it feasible."
  6. Wait, those groups can show up in the Commonwealth? Damn. I don't know what controls their frequency but I have NEVER seen a raider from one of those factions in the Commonwealth. Hell, the only thing I've seen from NW in the main world space was a piece of Legendary Operator's armor from some creature.
  7. Right now this is probably your best bet. There's C.U.T.E., but it hasn't yet been optimized for male characters. You could also give Modern Firearms a shot, which includes some assets from those Siege outfits parted out. However, the mod comes as a whole, you can't get just outfit stuff without getting the weapons too. Of course, you might like the weapons too.
  8. Junkmaster has one, but Kung Fu Man hasn't really been willing to let his mod get parted out, and has restricted his PC releases until he decides the mod is done, though I think you can find a link to it on his discord. The revolver just uses the flare gun animations, but it looks okay. You can always try to get permission for someone to port it over. I might be willing to if he gives permission. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/users/957031 https://bethesda.net/community/user/kungfuman There are also two Schofield revolvers on nexus here, which look similar, but are larger, just search for that keyword.
  9. Yes, well done. These are all noticeable improvements. I wouldn't worry about the front end on the Kobra looking less like an AK, that fore-grip is pretty distinctive on it's own.
  10. Some of these I quite like, particularly the Blitzkrieg and Cornelius, and I really like the Big Iron and the Minute Maiden, but some parts on others look too obviously kitbashed. I'd take another look at the barrel on the Kobra, the pistol grip and receiver on the Plaintiff, and the receiver on the Wild Bore. These are places where I can clearly see a repeating part or awkward overlapping, or it just looks kindof unfinished. The problem with the Kobra, currently, is that it simply won't work. The bolt action is loading a round into the piston tube right now, not the barrel. Somehow you need to make it look like the barrel is coming out the top of the fore-grip, and the bottom is empty or plugged. I also recommend using a regular barrel, rather than a repeating mesh. I'd recommend one of the pistol grips from the 'Assault Rifle', or maybe the Gauss Rifle for the Plaintiff. With a better looking grip the boxy receiver may not stand out so much. The Wild Bore's receiver just looks awkward because parts around the receiver seem to overlap awkwardly, rather than fitting together at clear seams. If you can clean up the overlapping a bit I think it will be fine. On another note, if you want a few extra parts to mess with, feel free to use (and modify if needed) stuff from any of my mods. The barrels from AARP would likely be the most helpful.
  11. The new Sim Settlements expansion, Conqueror, adds an option to have all the settlements pre-built, so that might be a good one to throw in as well.
  12. You can always use one of the options that only disables Preston's quests, they are by far the most annoying ones. Some of the radiants for other factions even end at a certain point, but the Minutemen ones never seem to. Never rescuing Preston's group effectively disables the Minutemen story line. You could technically still do settlements, but you'd have to purposely seek them out and help them, and the related radiant quests will not show up. I did this once for an Institute playthrough, it was... liberating. It will not prevent you from doing anything story-wise, you just miss out on the first clue about where to go, but if you meander your way to Daimond City on your own it will work out fine. You will also have to use the Brotherhood's tech resources instead of Struges at a couple points, but again, nothing that will prevent you from completing the story.
  13. I should add that, technically, if you disable all radiant quests, you will only have to deal with about 4-5 settlements, since you'll never get the quests to unlock more. Also remember that if you ignore settlements they eventually leave the Minutemen, but that has no real impact beyond being unable to build there. And if you're looking for stuff from old Fallout games, here are some old posts of mine from other topics. (I understand if you just wanted game-play changes, just ignore this if that's the case.)
  14. I can help some of that. First, give Be Exceptional a shot. You may also like the New Vegas rebalance. Then, there are several options for removing radiant quests. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7277/ https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3456/ https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/24940/ Not sure about removing settlements entirely, but you could always cheat yourself the materials and just use some blueprints to build them quickly, then never touch them. I DID start working on a mod that I was going to title Self Sufficient Settlements some time ago, with the goal to make every settlement already fully functional for five settlers when you unlock them, so you would never have to build anything unless you want to. Sadly I only completed one settlement, but I may come back to it in the future.

  16. When you start in the vault, are you starting a completely new game, or from a save just before leaving it?
  17. That's interesting, I can't recall ever seeing another shishkebab. Anyway, how long are you waiting to test in-game after installing your mod? LL's take a few in-game days to reset and re-distribute items. Try sleeping for a week before you go out and test. If you already knew all that, just disregard.
  18. Time for some righteous fire from the heavens. Take a look at the Archimedes-II. One rifle to do it all. Ballistics or energy, the FACTOR has you covered. Want to try a few different types of elemental damage, or maybe heal your allies by shooting them? Give the Element Manipulator Cannon a try. For a more nostalgic flavor, pick up the Classic Fallout Cattle Prod.
  19. Too bad all the medical locations I can think of have Super Mutants or raiders already, otherwise I'd say just mix them in with regular ghouls in a couple of those.
  20. The carry handle/a2 sights do exist as an attachment for the flat top though (in this mod). Or, they're in the screenshots anyway.
  21. Just wanted to say this sounds awesome and I hope you figure it out. Even if they act like ghouls it'll be nice to have something else to shoot at.
  22. So, I started playing Destiny 2 a month ago or so, when it was offered for free on PC. In digging through the varying weapons you can get I found the set from the Gambit game mode. These weapons are all designed with a wood and steel aesthetic, resembling what you might find in WWII or the few decades after. They are, however, original designs, rather than being directly based on a real world weapon. Anyway, I find their aesthetic almost perfect for pre-war weapons in the Fallout universe. I figured I'd share some pictures for potential inspiration, and see if we can bring together some other good designs from other sources. I also think the Omolon weapons would make for a better look for the institute, if only to decrease their ridiculous bulk. Just remove their magazines and replace their round power pack with a Fusion Cell. What you guys think? Have you seen some designs out there that you think would go great in Fallout?
  23. Ugh, I had that happen a couple months ago too. Somehow my SATA driver was corrupted and f*#@ed over two HDDs. Or, at least that's the only explanation I could come up with based on what worked to fix it. Glad to hear you didn't lose anything.
  24. Closest existing things are in here. Someone could probably make a mashup of those skirts with some of satojo's military uniforms, here or here.
