  1. I think it's not a bad idea but I don't see any good way to implement it. Maybe a mod could be flagged as dead if the author hasn't signed in for a very long time? Still, I don't really see a need for it as the comment section will quickly tell you if a mod is still in care or not.
  2. Interesting. You should leave a comment about it on the mod page.
  3. I actually spend more time modding it than playing it nowadays. When I have a day off work I can easily spend 10-12 hours working on a mod. I still get the itch to play it from time to time, during which I'll play for a couple of hours. Back in my teenage years I could play Oblivion for hours on end.
  4. That would really depend on which game you intend to mod. Different games use different programs.
  5. I would try re-installing the game. I have no other ideas what's causing this.
  6. I think any game will become repetitive after 500 hours. When you're done with one game, you're supposed to start a new one.
  7. In your situation it's a good idea to find the EditorID of the exterior cell you want to edit. Cells can either be interior or exterior. Exterior cells are sections of land in the outside world, while Interior cells are inside areas such as dungeons or houses. An EditorID is the name of an object in the Construction Set. In cases like this, the UESP Wiki is your friend. It's sort of like Wikipedia for the Elder Scrolls. Here's the UESP page for Weye. On the right side of the page there's a window with a section called "Console Location Code(s)". It contains that exterior cell's EditorID. Now open up the Construction Set. In the Cell View window there's a drop-down list called "World Space". From the list, choose Tamriel. Tamriel is the entire outside game world in Oblivion. It will take some time to load, as the game is now loading all the exterior cells in Cyrodiil. When it's finished loading, you'll see a list below of all the exterior cells. Remember the EditorID we saw on the UESP page? Click on the exterior cell list and type "Weye". The list will drop down to any cells that start with "Weye". You should see a cell called WeyeExterior highlighted in the list, just like the EditorID we saw on UESP. Double click on WeyeExterior and the game will take you to that exterior cell. Now you should see a top-down view of Weye in the Render Window. (If it's too dark, press A and it will light up.) And now you can just follow the road a little bit up to see where it splits! After you've placed the house you should start thinking about pathgridding, but first things first. And if you run into trouble, you can try the Elder Scrolls Construction Set Wiki. It's a bit outdated but it certainly helps!
  8. I play Oblivion through Steam and I've never had that problem before. Do you have any mods that affect music and/or sound?
  9. If you feel the moderators made a mistake you should contact them and politely ask about it instead of getting pissy.
  10. Do the actions of one poster represent the views of the entire community?
  11. RTNM is a mod which adds incredible detail to Oblivion's vanilla textures. Much better than any of the fancy HD texture packs and with none of the performance hit HD textures bring. OC Darker Nights makes the nights in Oblivion slightly darker. Not pitch black but enough to make a difference.
  12. It sometimes can be like that. That's why it's so important we make the most of it.
  13. Skeleton containers? Do you mean dead Skeletons that you find lying around ruins?
  14. You should only be using the Official Oblivion Patch if you're playing a physical copy of Oblivion. Also make sure your load order is correct.
  15. But, isn't that WHY folks play games? A temporary escape from reality? Of course! But many people don't want to go back to reality once they've had a taste of something else.
  16. If you manually sorted that gigantic load order by hand then no wonder your game is crashing. You should let the mod organizer do that. I use TesModManager with BOSS to sort my load order. Works like a charm.
  17. If video games become an escape then they become an addiction. Escaping reality is the most addicting thing there is.
  18. In Oblivion the player has certain "slots" on his body which armor and clothes fill up when you wear them. I don't think there's any way around that, only one item can fill one slot at a time. Why don't you just enchant your clothing with Shield enchantments? That way your clothes can give you an armor rating.
  19. This looks great! I didn't expect the map to be that big but considering how large Daggerfall's world is it's not surprising.
  20. I think this sounds really cool and I for one would love a ready resource to do this kind of thing but I'm afraid my scripting knowledge doesn't extend this far. Try making a post in the General Mod Author Discussion forums, I'm sure there are people there that can help.
  21. I think it's very interesting. I never knew this was possible in Oblivion.
  22. It was really cool in your video how the table flew through the air like that. I've never seen that before in Oblivion. Did you do it entirely in the CS or did you use Unreal or Unity?
  23. If the Preview check didn't work then I'm stumped. Have you tried reinstalling the CS?
  24. I'm not even sure if that's possible. The PC version of Oblivion never had them, they're exclusively a console thing. The Steam version of Oblivion doesn't even have achievements. I think this mod is the closest you'll get on PC.
