  1. I think physics are important. As for effects, I don't really care about good graphics but I think good lighting does wonders for a game.
  2. Have you tried Oblivion Stutter Remover? There are a bunch of different versions out there, you can try some and see if they help.
  3. I see you have two Better Cities .esp files active: Better Cities.esp and Better Cities FULL.esp. I don't play with Better Cities but should you have both of those files active at once?
  4. Bad writing is the center of every bad artwork. The writing is the structure, the spine that carries it all. If the spine falters the whole thing comes crashing down.
  5. If a mod author truly cares about his work he/she would keep the mod page updated so I say go with what's written on the mod page.
  6. Re-creating an entire game on a different engine can be a massive undertaking even if the game in question is short.
  7. I think this is the best idea. It would make the whole process very simple. Bethesda could just check if the permissions are right and then go on with porting the mod. With credit given to the original authors, of course.
  8. This has happened to me too. For some reason I got this glitch a lot in the Mouth of the Panther. The textures either turned grey-white like in your picture or a bright orange. It happens very rarely so I never looked up a fix. Nvidia here as well.
  9. I don't use Wrye Bash but could it be automatically fetching the mods from the internet? I know TMM fetches info about mods from Nexus.
  10. I think the Nexus mods do a good job but parts of the "Sexualized Content" section of the guidelines are clearly being broken and I'm not really sure why it's allowed to go on like this.
  11. That's what I think too. It sounds pointless and very time-consuming.
  12. The images I linked break more or less every single part of that warning. Even though the images don't include full-on nudity they are 100% intended to be pornographic.
  13. The "denying it" part wasn't directed at you, InDarkestNight. It's directed at anyone who doesn't think Nexus has a porn problem.
  14. Softcore pornography is rampant in some areas on Nexus. You'd have to be blind to deny it. I don't play Skyrim but Oblivion's image section regularly gets these kinda images. It is painfully obvious that they are intended to be sexually arousing, one recent image collection for Oblivion is even named "Busty monday". Scroll down to the bottom to see the model spread her legs for the camera. What about some fetish attire? While it's true that none of the images expose the parts seen in the Adult Content Guidelines it's still a glaring breach of the "Sexualized Content" section of the guidelines. Skyrim's image section is even worse. What the hell even is this? Boom, lingerie! If you don't think Nexus hosts porn, you're in denial.
  15. It's very simple, you just open the "Static" item list which is located under "WorldObjects". Just right-click anywhere on the list, select "New" and a window will pop up where you can create a new static item. Then you just have to give it a unique name and find the folder path for the correct model. Have you unpacked the game files? To work with the Construction Set all the files need to be unpacked first and placed inside the "Data" folder. You can use this to unpack them.
  16. The grate is an easy fix. Open up the grate activator and find the folder where its model is located. Then create a new static object using that same model file. Then just place your new static grate instead of the activator one. As for the ayleid statues you can check Umbacano's manor to see how it's done there. The cell ID is ICTalozPlazaUmbacanoManorUpstairs. In Umbacano's manor you can see the statues inside a big display case. It seems to be unique, it probably has some different features that allow the statues to fit inside. If you double-click the statues inside you'll see that they're all marked as "Persistent Reference" and "Initially Disabled". Their IDs are all like "MS21Statue7" or something. Find them in the Cell View window (the list on the right of the window), right-click one of them and click "Use Info". Now you can see every instance where this particular object is used. You'll see it's used by a script. If you open the script you'll see it uses the enable command to make the statue appear inside the display case. Maybe you can do something similar in your mod.
  17. Have you disabled the Steam overlay? Try disabling Steam cloud sync as well.
  18. Do you use Enhanced Economy? I feel the money side of things is much more balanced when playing with that mod. It has a "hardcore" setting.
  19. This mod might be what you're looking for. I've never tried it myself so I can't attest to its quality.
  20. RomanR, your post did help! It seems the cause of the problem was the ground level. I raised the ground level under the water around the land (the world space is an island surrounded by water) and it fixed the problem! It seems like the ground being 100% flat causes the problem. If I keep going past the areas where I raised the ground level I start seeing the glitch again because the ground there is completely flat. I still have to admit I have no idea how to edit the heightmap or the LOD files. I hope that won't be a problem.
  21. Thanks for the shoutout, WanderRA! After looking at your mod in the CS I can definitely agree that it seems crazy and hardcore. Too crazy even for me, I think.
  22. Try asking about it in the Vortex Support subforum, you'll probably find some answers there.
  23. I haven't touched the heightmap or the LOD. The glitch isn't visible in the CS so it's hard to tell exactly which cells have this problem. One cell that might be close by only has texture edits.
  24. I cannot remember how many hours I spent but my longest running character was a nord warrior who made it to level 42. I did every quest with this guy, discovered every map marker and bought every house. Completely no-lifed the game. One day my save got corrupted because I jumped around the Imperial City until the game crashed. Nowadays I switch between characters a lot. I create a new one often and never play each one for very long.
