  1. Hehe, you've got some points there. The storything i can live with (even if i totally understand the point), but i am really with you on the A.i. Its really annoying to have brahmins caught in houses, doors to small to walk through for them. Settlers that walk against walls like they are flies with no memory, that fly against the window for hours. And about the stealth thing, yes this is annoying, too, especially in survival it gets pretty hard if your not on a roof or something, and a dozen ghouls run at you immediatly after the first shot. Add to this, i have to reload my sniperrifle after every shot because of the animation bug. Hope this will ever get fixed.
  2. This workaround has some pretty bad bugs, like materials go to misc tab and cannot be used anymore. Better read this thread, it works like a charm, but you have to do things yourself. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3998460-mods-are-not-disabled-in-survival-beta-beth-changed-how-plugintxt-works/
  3. Hmm... its an interesting idea and would be more realistic in deed. But on the other hand, on surivival its really hard to get mats to your settlements in large amounts, and oil is pretty rare anyways. Oil or fuel drops would need to be increased, so you can have some generators für defence. I only played up to level 30 until now, but i guess i will need a lot of laser turrets later for raids, cause machinegun turrets are barely able to kill some freaking dogs or bloatflies. Guess it would be a matter of balance.
  4. thanks PoliteRaider, works like a charm.
  5. does anyone know, will i get the dlc with the beta survival installed? seems its out allready, but steam didnt download anything.
  6. Maybe try this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/102/?
  7. If all horses are dead, then lets ride on radstags, yao guai or even big molerats! The idea with a motorcycle or even a car (like FO2) would be interesting, too. Or, alternative, some mod that makes your powerarmor (much) faster. All in all, in my opinion, its not really needed, but i guess it would be fun, at least.
  8. I know the problem, had it myself in one playthrough, never got the quest from there. There is afaik no ingame way to force it, so only way is through console: setstage MinRecruit01 50 or setstage MinRecruit07 50 or setstage MinRecruit02 50 Pulled from Wiki, these are possible recruitement quest for Somervile Place.
  9. as far as i remember: For MM: just play any quest preston gives you. Until you're NOT an enemy of the Institute, nothing happens. For Institute: Do any quest you find, until you get "Mass Fusion". If you get this, ignore it. For RR: Do any quest up to Underground Undercover. Continue until it sais ""Continue working for Father" For BoS: Until the end of "Blind Betrayal". Only thing you shouldnt do, "Talk to Maxson at the Prydwen" From this point you can save and play all the factions "end"-quests. Sidequests in general do not affect your standing with the factions. You can kill synths for RR, even if they are friendly to you. Never tried to kill Bos for the RR, but i guess its the same?! Never killed any MM, allways charmed them out.
  10. My strategie for survival was allways to conquer the north with all its settlements first. It allows to level up rather quick, so i can go south without facing enemies that cant take 1000 shots before dying. For me it was never an option to ignore the MM, even if the questsystem sucks. But there are mods that make it acceptable, so you only get one MM quest at a time, and raids come at lower rate.
  11. Unfortunatly my graphics adapter crashed yesterday and i have to send it back to asus, so i cant play for quite some time. I just wait until release and see what options i have then :D thanks for the tip anyway.
  12. I really like most of the features that come with the overhaul, but no fast travel and no saving is just to much. Ex.1: Last time i played (old survival) i was in sanctuary, preston gave me a quest "go to nordhagen beach an help settler". I had to go there manually, cause i wasnt in this area so far. It took a very long time going there, on the way are some interesting locations. When i arrive, the settler sends me to national guards depot (half way back to sanctuary). I go there and kill the ghouls, and after that i must go back to the beach, and then back to sanctuary to complete the quest... Ex.2: I go to a place like Corvega factory, with many pretty strong enemies (depends on your level). Usually you save after you killed some enemies, but now you cant, or have to go out to the next bed. I tried it out, and even if i am not a bad player, or have a weak char, i had to go in over 10 times, killing the same enemies again and again, and just one little hit from a legendary raider kills me in no time. I dont know, this is just not fun for me... But we are lucky to have a great modding community, so i guess there will be mods soon, so i can chose which features i want for survival.
  13. Yeah, its online on steam...
  14. Hmmm. you chose "CBBE Body" under "Outfit/Body", then select your "Preset" and build. Thats not possible? If so, tried reinstalling CBBE? You can build Outfits with different Presets, the body itself will stay the same, if its not included in the build process.
  15. For me, fallout 4 is the first of beth games, which i played through three times in a row (five in total), without a break. After 4 months i played as many hours, as i played skyrim in all the years since release, and three times more than 3 or nv. And after all that time, i still play, and i still find new things in every new playthrough. Impressions can be so different
  16. I like all planned features, except one: no fast travell. For the waiting time i mixed some mods for my own survival mode, and decided to only save while sleeping and not use fast travel. Guess what? It lasted until i wanted to go to corvega plant. After that, ways are just to long for my taste (espescially when you need all that junk for your settlements). So i really hope someone bring out a mod after release, to re-enable this option. Maybe even better, a mod where you can chose the options for survival.
  17. I had a similar problem once. I killed some people in institute, fled, went to preston, but the quest didnt trigger. I loaded my save inside institute, and this time i killed more people, fled, went to preston, now the quest did trigger. If you can, try it out. Hope it helps.
  18. There is simply only one thing to do in survival mode, and that is... you guessed allready (= SURVIVE. Load your god savegame and look through the perks, the level 1-5 sections. Choose whisly what you need, then pick your SPECIAL points, so you can get your preferred skills on a new game. Play until you come to Sanctuary, scrap everthing and get some xp. Level up on any settlement as much as you can. Check out each and any enemy you face with VATS before you engage him. Even a Bloatfly can kill you on lew levels. Then its all about your perks, your armor, your weapon, and your stimpacks and rad-stuff, etc. Sneak/Snipe as much as possible. On high level with better gear most enemies are easy again, but some may kill you before you even notice.
  19. What about this one? http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9942/?
  20. All possible endings: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Trouble_Brewin' But if you want both, have a buddy and end the quest, you can take a look at this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5787/?
  21. Since FO3 i wanted Wannamingos back
  22. Hi. I dont know if this is possible right now, but maybe someone likes the idea and will do it in the future. Guess this is only possible with scripting, but if you like, note the idea and mod it when you are able to. Lets say i have a home, like sanctuary. I have a bedroom with a special container. Everytime i sleep there, the game will randomly take one of the outfits and dress me up with it. The dress i weared gets stripped and put into the container. This should only affect clothes, not armor or things like "Amazing rings". Thank you.
  23. So... i took my time an gave everyone her special outfit. One for farmers, one for guards, traders, and so on. From time to time some of them just appear in their "own" clothes, and i just cant seem to find out why? I dress them up and take away their standard stuff. so they only have one outfit equipped, and a gun with some bullets. It doesnt affect everyone. F.e. in Sanctuary or Red Rocket this never happens. In Abernathy farm, Taffington Boathouse it happens. I know this for sure, cause i build the settlements in the last days. Is it because i install a new mod? (i do regulary, new outfits mostly. build the new ones in bodyslide then) Or is is just a game feature/bug? I use mods like "only female settlers" f.e., but nothing else that changes settlers. Only building-mod i use is homemaker atm. But i think i remember that happend way before i installed one of these. Ah yeah, and i rename them with a bat file, which came from a renaming mod. Thanks for any help/clues.
  24. I think one big issue with all this, and in detail with ammo, would be the difficulty balance. I mostly played on survival, where you meet legendary higher level enemies behind every corner, and you need lots and lots of ammo for every single one. Other things can easily managed with roleplaying itself. Who sais you have to build each and every settlement up to its limits? I only choose some of them, and transfer the materials from the others with provisioners. Next thing, use a companion to carry more things ( i play with low strength, too), buy shipments and so on. I build a main base with shops, so i have allways enough caps for everything, even without looting everything and fast travel orgies. Dont get me wrong, i like "realism-mods", too. I would like to see a brahmin-follower to carry things, send settlers/minutemen in little groups to gather stuff. ammo can have a weight, but enemies would have to be balanced. aid-items can have, too, but in survival mode you must use some perks then, cause you dont stand a chance without lots of aid, armor and health. I guess this all would lead to a gigantic mod-project. All in all, i think one could do such a mod, and i for myself would play it. But i can live with how the base game handles it, too.
  25. Good idea, i want it!
