  1. Because my Steam is on a different drive, there are no files from those mods in the data folder, even if I uninstall a mod, i won't be able to download it back and I have already enabled hidden folders in the file explorer prior to this,
  2. Hey so, today i installed the latest ENB binaries, and then the enblocal from the ENBoost, but when I launch FO3, there is no cursor and the menu buttons such as "New Game, Load, Settings," etc were missing and I physically could not even start the game. Thanks in advance!
  3. Hey so, today, I downloaded a Fork version of FOMM, and it was going pretty well until I was downloading a mod until it told me something like "Error: File Already Exists". I tried to reach out to the dev on discord, but it seems that he doesn't really care. Anyways, i don't want to go back to the older, official FOMM and reinstall every single mod over again. Thanks in advance!
  4. FNV, but the same error could be said for a hypothetical FO3 mod.
  5. Thanks, it worked. I have 1 problem though, I tried installing an FNV mod but it instaleld omega slow and at the end it said "Error file exists".
  6. Hey so, I have a quick question regarding "repackaging" a mod. Some time ago, I posted my issues with downloading the FOOK mod, and the people told me that it's packaged in a bad way, so no mod managers can install it. I don't know what it means, or how do I repackage it so that's why I'm asking. Thanks in advance!
  7. So, I have this big .bsa file that is about 2gb. The problem is, I am trying to install it through FOMM, but it is a 32bit application or something and the file is simply too large for it. So, I was wondering, is there a way I can somehow "split" it so that FOMM can properly install it? Thanks.
  8. If you download it Manually, you then install it with FOMM like you've been talking about. I don't bother with the mod because it's more trouble than it's worth Alright fine, I have an idea, I'll try to install it with MO2. If it works out then cool, future generations can gaze upon this solution but if not, then thread closed, FOOK machine doesn't work. Good lord, if FOOK isn't packaged properly, then NOTHING is going to install it properly, not NMM, MO, MO2, Vortex et al. And indeed MO2 couldn't do it. Unless there is a guide on how to repackage it, or if the mod authors repackage it themselves, we are just banging our heads against the wall.

  10. Alright fine, let's say that I don't have FWE, what's next? Going by your first post, you should be able to play the game now, IF you've gotten rid of either FOOK or FWE. That was your initial problem, and if you've removed one or the other, then you shouldn't need further help. Uhh, no. I physically cannot download it through FOMM, and Vortex does not install ANY of the FOOK files. That is the problem. So download it MANUALLY and then install it with FOMM. There's nothing on the FOMM page that says it can download mods. Either download it MANUALLY, and repackage it so Vortex or any other modern mod manager can install it, or download it manually and install it with FOOK Literally all that's standing between you and downloading and installing FOOK is pressing the MANUAL DOWNLOAD button. If I download it manually, I won't be able to uninstall it (or rather, i will have to go through each individual folder and file to find which ones to uninstall). How do I repackage it so it works for Vortex?

  13. I know Vortex sucks, I just tried using it because FOOK's Nexus page said that NMM/Vortex can be used to install it. Disregard that FOOK and FWE cannot be run at the same time, I can find compability patches. FOOK's page directly states that installing it through FOMM isn't as simple as with other mods. I have MO2 but I don't know if it can be used to download FOOK. No, Vortex does not "Suck", the problem is that FOOk is packaged incorrectly and will extract to the wrong folder People just love to blame Vortex for everything. Oh. I just kinda assumed, because many people recommended other mod managers. Anyways, getting back on track, what can I do in this situation?

  15. Hey guys, I have a quick question about FOOK. So, I tried installing FOOK through FOMM, and I got an error message. I discovered that FOMM is a 32 bit application or something, so I turned to the next best thing, Vortex. When I downloaded all of the required files, it showed told me that everything is fine and when I checked in the plugins section, it showed me that all of the .esms and .esps that FOOK had were installed and enabled. When I went into the game however, there was literally nothing, nothing new at all. i checked the data folder and there were no FOOK plugins and no textures, meshes, etc. from FOOK in the files. I don't know what to do, and thanks in advance! Note: i also have FWE installed, which files should I overwrite if asked?
  16. Program FIles (x86) I have the 2004 version of Windows 10 I believe we will continue banging our heads against the wall on this as long as you have Steam (and thus Oblivion) installed in any UAC protected folder. Yes there are ways that you can subvert UAC's interference by turning off various things that then hobble UAC's ability to interfere (but also protect) you and your computer. I do not advocate those methods. Create a folder C:\Games or C:\Steam and then reinstall/move Steam to that folder (use this Steam page as a guide). I personally would prefer to suggest that after moving Steam out of a UAC protected folder you start with a brand new Steam installation of Oblivion, but that is because I'm unaware of all the possible things that are present in your current UAC affected Oblivion install ... a clean piece of paper is easier to use to get a fresh start in my opinion. Once you have done that start the game and confirm that the base vanilla game (absolutely nothing else installed) works correctly. Then install OBSE ... just OBSE, nothing else, and start the game. Make a save and then exit. Look in your Users\[username]\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves folder and see if you see a single save file (e.g. MySave09.ess) or if you see two save files with the same base name but different file extensions (e.g. MySave09.ess and MySave09.obse). If you do not see two save files there is absolutely no reason to go any further. Fine, I will commit to it, i just have one question though. I have New California for FNV and it has a .exe file in order to download it. Also, will I have to reinstall all my games all over again?
  17. It still doesn't work. Nope, didn't work. Whenever I try loading Oblivion it tells me to "have steam overlay" and that "you are running the steam version, steam users should bla bla bla". But whenever I try loading "oblivion.exe" (oblivionlauncher.exe) then the menu just reopens whenever I press play. xOBSE v21.8 shouldn't nag the user anymore, that's been removed outright (but unsupported) i was using the regular OBSE.
  18. Program FIles (x86) I have the 2004 version of Windows 10
  19. I already did that a long time ago. Look for OBSE_LOADER.LOG If you don't have an LOG files that have OBSE in the name then it's not installed correctly, or it's not running at all. I already posted an obse_loader.log somewhere here in the forum post in one of my comments.
  20. Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I won't be moving the Steam folder out of program files because I don't want to reinstall all my games. However, when I tried giving full control to all of the users in the Steam folder, it removed the full control settings from "CREATOR OWNER" when I tried giving it full control.

  22. Welp, I don't know what else to do. I tried getting rid of the src folder from OBSE but it didn't work.
  23. clearing large-address-aware flag (flags offset = 0000011E checksum offset = 00000160)recorrecting exe checksum (00793BFD -> 00793BDD)crc = A2408F04You are trying to use a Steam version of Oblivion. Steam users should launch the game through Steam, not by running obse_loader.exe. If OBSE fails to load, go to Steam > Settings > In Game and check the box marked "Enable Steam community in game". Please see the instructions in obse_readme.txt for more information.(Also it used to be that I could move the camera with arrow keys, but for some reason it doesn't anymore. This was even before i changed to xOBSE.)
