Preston go bye bye

Ok, Codsworth and Preston go bye bye.

Started a new game, but didn't want to do anything Minutemenish (or is that Minutemensch?) this time through. Sooo, exited 111, found the PRID for Codsworth and Preston, and disabled both of them. Then used completequest to finish off Out of Time.

No Codsworth, so no quest to go to Concord, and no Preston, so no one shouting down from the balcony. Everything works fine, although I assume I shouldn't enter the Museum of Freedom where the rest of the 5 are hanging out.

Ahhhh, Sanctuary is so nice and peaceful now.

I usually go to Concord, grab the bobblehead and leave without talking to any of them.

Then I play the game in peace.

With Preston disabled they'd probably just ignore me, since he isn't there to initiate the conversation. I should test it out :)

Both doors to the room were locked, and of course you don't have the key. I used the console to unlock one, went in and grabbed the bobblehead and the magazine. The only one who said anything was Mama Murphy, the usual warning about "something angry", but the deathclaw never comes out of his hole.

With Preston enabled they open up the door, and then I walk in, grab the bobblehead, Preston says "What? You're just gonna leave?" and I go back to Sanctuary

They all stupidly stay there like the useless and helpless dopes they are.

I know I know, I just didn't even want the quests in my log lol I can always re-enable the two of them later if I want.

Who cares about the bobblehead?

I never go in the "Museum Of Endless Settlement Quests" if I am not doing a MM playthrough ...

I care about the bobbleheads to max my stats

Ugh, min-maxing and metagaming ...

But to each their own, I guess, right?

Good thing it's a single player game so what I do doesn't affect anybody else.

I uninstalled it back in 2019 though, got completely burned out on it, and doubt I'll ever install it again, the map is boring.
