*&@#ing trolls.

So falls another great modder.

Really need some sort of protection for modders like Slof from those bloody trolls. Modblast the trolls asses back to hell or something. (Yes, I AM demanding blood for this...)

It's sad.

I will miss her mods and creativity...However, art (Slof is an artist, whether people like or dislike what she do) can be controversial sometimes and you can't really prevent intolerant and/or immature people from posting idiotic comments...I think that if I were her (but I am talentless when it comes to drawing, texturing and modeling), I'd take pride (and perhaps some pleasure) in confronting those faux-prudes with my creations and reminding them that Michelangelo painted nude figures on the Sixtine chapel ceiling more than 500 hundred years ago... (but all that is more easily said than done....I know it can get heavy sometimes on a person and I 200% respect her decision).

I'll miss her mods a lot.

Edit: just seen post below...I wish her the very best and hope she gets well soon! :( Don't worry about all of us crazies and forget us, Slof! Your health and well being is the most important! I'll still enjoy your general artwork!

She writes on her website:

My health is not good and the further stress of the constant crap has forced me to quit. I don't need another stroke, thanks very much!

Get well soon!

She has asked that others not upload her work. Sadly, I have no backups for the things I loved so much as my Oblivion reinstall is on a new HDD. No more better beasts, claws, skins, horses, dogs, various spiders, etc etc etc. I'll email her and ask if she will permit people to email each other mod copies but I doubt she'll approve. Sounds like one to many insecure people couldn't handle their own repressed homo-eroticism and vented their frustrations out on her. I am absolutely going to suggest a new feature for Nexus. Comments disabled by Author. Maybe we can keep the trolls from taking another great artist from us.

Comments and ratings can be disabled when a mod is uploaded, Slof did this as a matter of course. It is the only reason they were hosted here, but she would get assailed in pm's.

I would much rather have her here than her mods. She is a good friend and her presence will be missed.

She is a breath of fresh air, staunch in her way of life and acceptance of others. If others were as open minded as she, the world would be a much better place.

Something has got to be done. Either people have got to have downloaded the mod from this site in order to rate, or else they maybe should have to be a premium member.

The site knows all the mods I've ever downloaded, I can go back and see everything I've downloaded from here. If I've downloaded it somewhere else first, I should simply have to download it again in order to rate or comment.

That's the least we can do to protect our community.

I'm angry, and upset about this. Luckily I do have most of her mods, and I've kept them and updated them often, but that's not the point is it?

The point is, there needs to be some kind of accountability and having to download in order to rate is at least a step in the right direction. It would also help to ensure that people are making relevant comments about potential problems in a mod that I'd want to know about, for example, rather than just a bunch of drivel.

I can believe that there are such damn aholes out there, easily, but I can't believe there's NOTHING we can do to protect ourselves from them.

Personally I love Dogs, Horses, Bridles, beautiful textures, jewelry (OMG how many people have relied on Slofs jewelry textures to make nice things). These idiots have no idea what a resource she was to us. What an inspiration her body of work is, how we measure our work and others' against the standard she set as only a precious few others have.

SOMETHING HAS GOT TO BE DONE.

Sorry Buddah I should have realized she had disabled her ratings, but I forgot. How dare people write to her via PM, who do these people think they are? We're like a society raised by wolves? No, wolves are better behaved, actually. How dare these people send her PMs to complain, I'm not kidding it makes me ballistic.

but she would get assailed in pm's.

Perhaps a feature where people can specify "I don't want PM's from anyone except people on the following list" and then add specific names. And maybe a blanket 'name' to allow premium members to PM you. Or (this one just jumped into mind) members that have been here for more than {some time period}.

Sure, it might cause a few pains for legit messages, but it'll help protect the sanity of the wonderful people who spend so much time creating awesome stuff for the rest of us less-talented people.

As myrmaad said, something has to be done, otherwise we are going to continue losing wonderfully talented people like Slof, because of the hateful, immature little trolls that just keep spamming nasty crap they think is "funny".

I'm sad that it has come to this, but totally understand. She is a very sharing and nice person. Her artistry is unsurpased. I have all of her mods on my HD, though I will miss seeing her on the various forums. I sent her a message earlier to express my appreciation and wanted express so in public too. Nexus seems like the only place that realizes she is gone so I came here.

You know, my art teacher taught us to appreciate all art for what it is. Doesn't matter if you like it or not, it is still art and still has value. Such is Slof's work. Many don't like seeing male nudity and feel the need to bash. When our art teacher showed us nudes, he did not allow derogotory comments and snickering. He taught us maturity to look at art, to appreciate the creativity that goes into it, realize how much of themselves an artist put into the work.

That said, I admire all of Slof's work. Not just in the way my art teacher taught. I love her mods, stories, and artwork that she has shared over the years. But then I'm a girl and men are hot!

Hopefully, what comes of all of this is that the modding community as a whole will learn something. You don't appreciate what you have lost until its gone and irretrievably broken. Hopefully, the hell she was put though will have been enough to pave the way for other like-minded, talented modders.

Thank you, Slof for everything!
