dizietemblesssma
My drive went south and I've installed a new one. I started Vortex and it said I would lose all meta information if I continued so I quit. If the meta info still exists then I'd like to view it so i can go about downloading the files manually to the correct folder. Which file(s) have this info and what format are the files in please? diziet
Pickysaurus
Which drive did you lose? All Vortex data is stored in %AppData%\Vortex - restoring this folder from your old drive will allow the metadata to be used again, however you staging and downloads folders need to be in the same relative paths as they were before. dizietemblesssma
I lost the drive with the games and staging and download folders, but the appdata wasn't lost, so Vortex seems to have the metainfo, which would presumably include the actual mod files, but I cannot launch Vortex beyond the dialogue to quit or apply changes without losing this metainfo. If I can get the list of mod files then I assum I can download them into the correct place and then they will appear as uninstalled in Vortex? diziet edit:<Vortex seems to have the metainfo, which would presumably include the actual mod files> I mean a list of the files:)
Pickysaurus
Does Vortex not present a list of "Missing mods" to you on startup? That can serve as a your guide?
dizietemblesssma
This is what happens and I've chosen quit.https://i.imgur.com/4KUDepT.png diziet
Pickysaurus
So that list shown in your screenshot is a list of mods you previously had installed. It may also be printed into the Vortex log file but I'm not sure.
Guest deleted34304850
i'd redownload those mods - or - reinstall from a local backup if you have one, and keep doing that until vortex didn't display that message on start up any more. dizietemblesssma
I have reinstalled multiple games that were installed on the d drive and had their download and staging folders also on the d drive. I do not wish to proceed beyond the quit/continue vortex dialogue because I cannot know what meta info will survive. Hence I need to extract the meta info directly from the vortex files, since the meta info is still there (according to vortex itself) I would like to download the missing files outside of vortex so that I don't lose the meta info when i click 'continue' on the dialogue. It my be that I will get the quit/continue dialogue for each reinstalled game, but I don't wish to take the risk:)Before I reinstalled the games I had not realised that there was a chance to keep my old meta info, now the possibility rears its head I wish to keep it if i can.Obviously a vortex extension cannot help if I do not run vortex beyond the dialogue to quit/continue.I have copied to the clipboard the list of files that the dialogue presents since it is scrollable, but that is only for the one game and there are other games. diziet
