KimHanson
It would be hilarious if it wasn't so frustrating. I am a brand new noob and all I want to do is add one or two simple mods. You would think that would be easy, but no, not with Fallout 4. First problem, the mod designer doesn't even think it worth the bother to say where the mod should be installed. I took a risk and put it in the "Mod" folder. Might be right, might be wrong, I may never know. Don't tell me this should be obvious, we are talking computer science and software programming. Logic does not apply. Obscuring the obvious and complicating the simple is a job requirement. Next I start up the game, click on Mods and low and behold, Bethesda wants me to sign up for some unknown feature. Why? Who knows! Maybe they don't even want me to play the game and are trying to drive me away. Well guess what, I find I can live without mods. In fact I'm quite sure I will be happier not playing silly games in order to play a pretty damn good game. Good luck to you all. I will not bother you again. showler
So, you came here to post that you're giving up on modding the game because you couldn't be bothered to google instructions or check for a video guide on Youtube? And this was worth a post, why?
pepperman35
"brand new noob" says a lot. As a noob you should probably use a mod manager like vortex. In the big scheme of things, adding mods to this game isn't too difficult. Creating mods is a little more challenging.
RoNin1971
Within the time it took to type this rant, you could have found the location for mods (fallout4\Data) about 10 times over.Besides, it is not the mod authors job to take your hand and guide you through the simplest of tasks. Like:Opening google & type: fallout 4 mod locationTo get the answer: C: \ Program Files \ Steam \ steamapps \ Common \ Fallout 4 \ Data ...but you couldn't be bothered... StormWolf01
So.... if logic does not apply....? Why put the files in a folder named "Mods" ? Isn't that what would be the logical choice?Computer technician asking.

xrayy
if you don't find any mod in your data folder but you already play with mods you probably use mo or mo2 or another mod manager with virtual mod file management and you hopefully know at least that
