Dimitrisgb
I recently purchased the Steam version of Oblivion, installed it outside of Program Files (in a new Drive) and tried some mods, but some of them are not working, or not working properly. I also can't open the Construction Set Extender, even though I have all the programs required.Any idea what to do?
showler
First thing is to make sure that everything works without any mods installed. On a pure vanilla install. Once that's sorted, let us know what error messages you get from Vortex regarding your mods. And don't forget to check that bell icon on the top right. Dimitrisgb
I tried by disabling all mods, but still the Construction Set is not working. It says "The code execution cannot proceed because SSCE5432.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem". Also, what is that bell icon on the top right? showler
In Vortex, the bell icon alerts you to any messages and warnings that may be relevant to you. The warning pop up on the screen, but close after a minute or so, so you need to keep an eye on whether there are any alerts for you.
showler
That DLL file is some kind of Windows file that you have missing or corrupted. You might need to repair or download a replacement for it.

Pickysaurus
Based on the error you quoted it seems you might be missing a dependency. I'm not sure Vortex is the problem here. On a very quick Google search it seems SSCE5432.dll is a Windows DLL file. Maybe you're on an old copy of Windows? Maybe the CS extender doesn't play nice with installs off of C:\ - it's hard to say? showler
It's not from CSE. It's a file that Windows is already supposed to have.
Solution Dimitrisgb Posted October 10, 2022 Author Solution Share Posted October 10, 2022 Well, I redownloaded the CSE and now it works. Thanks for your help though.
